Billionaire Mike Lynch’s 18-year-old daughter has been located five days after the superyacht sank

What was supposed to be a celebratory trip for British billionaire and tech tycoon Mike Lynch and his family and friends turned into a tragedy when the Bayesian yacht, flying a British flag, they were on sank off the coast of Sicily.

At about 3:50 am local time, a fierce storm unleashed winds strong enough to send chairs and tables flying onshore. It is believed that a waterspout, a type of mini-tornado, tore through the Bayesian, resulting in the yacht’s sinking, Sky News reported.

Fifteen of the 22 passengers and crew members were taken to safety in a small fishing village in Porticello, but the rest of them, including Mike Lynch, his 18-year-old daughter Hannah, International Bank Chair of Morgan Stanley Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy Bloomer, New York lawyer Christopher Morvillo, his wife Neda Morvillo, and Canadian-Antiguan chef Recaldo Thomas, all lost their lives.

Hannah’s body wasn’t located until five days later.

After extensive search and rescue efforts, divers managed to locate the bodies of five victims earlier in the week, leaving Hannah as the only person still unaccounted for. On Friday, her body was finally discovered, marking the end of a desperate search.

Hannah’s mother, Angela Bacares, was among the survivors as she was able to escape onto a lifeboat before the yacht was completely submerged.

At the time of the tragedy, Mike Lynch was celebrating his recent acquittal of fraud charges in the United States.

Overcome with sorrow, Esme Lynch, Hannah’s sister, spoke fondly of her late sibling. Esme remembered how Hannah would often burst into her room, bringing an overwhelming sense of love and joy with her.

“Sometimes beaming with a smile, sometimes cheeky, sometimes for advice. No matter what, she brought boundless love to me. 

“She was endlessly caring, passionately mad, unintentionally hilarious and the most amazing, supportive and joyful sister and best friend to me. 

“And on top of all this, she had even more love to give endlessly to all her friends and passion to give to her incredible studies and goals. 

“She is my little angel, my star.”

Italian authorities are now investigating the accident.

According to the prosecutor, there “could be a question of manslaughter” and announced the launch of a shipwreck investigation, which does not target any specific individual. Ambrogio Cartosio indicated that the incident might have been caused by “behaviours that were not in order” and added that other lines of investigation have not been ruled out and noted that investigators are not ruling out other potential leads.

Roberto Cavalli, the celebrated Italian fashion designer known for his extravagant style, has passed away at 83 at his Florence home, following a long illness that had recently deteriorated, according to the Italian news agency ANSA.

Cavalli’s career, which began in the 1970s, was marked by his signature animal prints and use of vibrant colors.

His work was adored by the likes of Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, and Taylor Swift. In 2010, he was photographed with Jennifer Lopez, who turned heads in one of his leopard-print dresses at the World Music Awards.

The designer’s brand, known for luxury clothing, handbags, shoes, and perfumes, expressed their grief on Instagram, celebrating Cavalli’s lasting influence and inspiration. “It is with great sadness that today we say our final goodbyes to our founder Roberto Cavalli,” the company’s post read.

Fausto Puglisi, the creative director since October 2020, shared his heartfelt sorrow and admiration, highlighting Cavalli’s enduring impact on fashion. “Dear Roberto, you may not be physically here with us anymore but I know I will feel your spirit with me always,” he wrote in a social media post. “Your name will continue on, a beacon of inspiration for others, and especially for me.”

Global tributes have poured in. Brazilian model Adriana Lima called Cavalli a “legend,” while former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham referred to him as an “icon,” sharing a poignant photo on her Instagram stories. Florence’s mayor, Dario Nardella, also paid tribute, acknowledging Cavalli’s major contributions to Italian fashion and his strong ties to the city.

Cavalli’s creative use of vibrant colors, patchwork techniques, and animal prints, combined with his signature tinted glasses and cigar, made his fashion statements bold and memorable. From his early innovations with leather and denim to his global acclaim in high-end denim, Cavalli’s impact on fashion remains unmatched. His funeral took place in Florence, as the world said goodbye to a true fashion pioneer.

Royal source reveals King Charles’ biggest fear in meeting with Prince Harry: The key to ending their feud

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have undertook the venture of visiting different countries and responding to invitations from presidents and other high-power people, including Nigeria and Columbia.

Both these trips caused a stir because they resembled official royal tours.

“William is absolutely furious and determined to find a way to stop this happening in future. Charles is said to be angrier than anyone has ever seen him. What’s really upset the applecart is the fact that the Nigerians treated Meghan and Harry as if they too thought this was an official tour – all the signs were there as the couple were greeted with dances, receptions, visits to schools and charities,” royal author Tom Quinn told the Mirror of the Sussexes’ three-day tour to Nigeria.

Their trip to Colombia was also met with backlash, this time from the public. Given that the Sussexes have been outspoken about the security concerns of bringing their children to the UK after losing taxpayer-funded protection following Megxit, their decision to visit Colombia has raised many eyebrows.

“Correct me if I’m wrong, but is Colombia not one of the most dangerous countries in the world? Yet Harry and Meghan, who are so worried about their safety and security, willingly go there? Make it make sense,” a netizen that goes by the name @Clare_C posted on X.

Royal author Tom Quinn suggests that this trip will further strain the relationship between the Sussexes and the rest of the Firm, as it signals that they intend to continue acting as royals, despite any objections from the royal family.

Speaking to Mirror, Queen added that whenever Harry and Meghan respond to an invitation from a sovereign state, it will look as though they “are somehow acting in an official royal capacity.”

Sadly, these trips only added fuel to the fire and widened the gap between Harry and his family.

It is uncertain whether Harry would try to make amends with his father, but according to royal experts and some of Harry’ friends, the King is unavailable when Harry tries to reach out to him.

“He gets ‘unavailable right now,’” a friend of Harry’s told People Magazine. “His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the King’s health, but those calls go unanswered too.”

The reason for this might be that King Charles has lost his trust in his younger son, according to a friend of the monarch who spoke to Sunday Times. “The problem for the King and other members of the family is the worry that if they have a chat with Harry, it will appear in Spare volume two. How do you regain the trust?” the friend said. “I don’t think Harry ever can. But from the conversations I’ve had with the King, I would never say their relationship is irreparable. The King’s capacity to forgive his son is undimmed. There are other members of the royal family who are much more weighted against Harry, that’s the problem.”

This isn’t the first time someone speaks of the King’s fear of Harry publishing another book.

“I can’t imagine that Harry would contemplate a follow up to Spare. He has indicated that he wants to move on: he has said his piece, vented his anger and faced the consequences,” BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said. “I don’t believe for a moment that he will revisit his grievances in a second book. There might be one about his work, or Invictus or the joys of parenthood but not about his issues with the past.”

She added: “If he did go there, then I am sure the response would be a continued dignified silence and a resounding crash as the Palace doors slammed on any hope of future reconciliation.”

On the other hand, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield believes that Harry is in fact capable of publishing a new book, one similar to Spare. On her program Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered, she said she believes that Prince Harry plans to release a second book when his father “inevitably” passes away and his brother, Prince William, ascends to the throne.

“I do think he would write about his family again. He was waiting to publish a book after [Queen Elizabeth died]. Originally they were saying there was going to be another publication after the [late] Queen died,” Schofield said.

“I suspect that maybe he would release a book after his father passed away. Especially if Prince William continues to keep him at arm’s length. Because what would the repercussions be if Prince William pushed you out of the fold?”

Only time will tell if Harry will make amends with his family.

An elderly lady was walking her dog and minding her own business when a young man passing by her grabbed her bag and started running.

A couple who witnessed the incident from across the street approached the elderly lady, making sure she wasn’t hurt during the act. They also told her that they called the police and that they were on their way.

The lady, however, didn’t seem to be disturbed. On the contrary, she had a smile on her face, which confused the couple. When they asked her if she had anything valuable in her bag, she told that them that she had only used it to store her dog’s poop until she goes home and disposes of it.

The insights your finger length offer about your personality

In certain pseudoscientific theories, particularly those related to palmistry or hand analysis, it is believed that one’s personality traits are ‘defined’ by the length of their fingers.

Personality is influenced by a complex blend of genetic, environmental, and psychological factors, and can’t be precisely determined by physical characteristics like finger length. Yet, there are those who think otherwise.

Based on a pseudoscientific concept called the “digit ratio,” particularly focusing on the ratio between the index finger (2D) and the ring finger (4D), certain aspects of person’s personality can be easily determined.

Some of the interpretations are as follows:

  • Longer Ring Finger (Low 2D:4D Ratio): Having longer ring finger is often associated with people who are believed to be risk-takers, assertive, and have high self-esteem. Further, these people are believed to be competitive, ambitious, and outgoing.
  • Longer Index Finger (High 2D:4D Ratio): Having longer index finger is associated with people who are compassionate, emphatic, communicative, and nurturing. These individuals tend to avoid conflicts.
  • Equal Length: These individuals might display a combination of assertiveness and empathy, showing both competitive and cooperative behavior depending on the circumstances.

According to Science, the idea that finger lengths reveal significant personality characteristics comes from evolutionary biologist John Manning, now at Swansea University. His work has inspired over 1,400 studies in just over 20 years, linking finger ratios to personality, cognitive abilities, and disease risks. Some researchers have even used these ratios to speculate on the gender of ancient cave painters.

Further, the magazine writes that finger ratios emerged as a solution in the late 1950s when researchers linked prenatal testosterone to brain development and behavior. With fetal hormone sampling being risky, scientists use finger ratios as a non-invasive way to study traits influenced by prenatal hormones, like aggression and sexual orientation.

After handing her 4-year-old daughter a bag of Burger King food, a mother hears, ‘Mom, I don’t want ketchup’

When hungry and in a hurry, the closest fast-food restaurant seems like the perfect option to have your meal for the day. That’s exactly what a mom did when she and her 4-year-old daughter were in for some cheesburgers.

However, when Tiffany Floyd stopped at a Burger King drive-thru near her home in Western New York, she didn’t expect it to turn into an unpleasant experience.

Sharing a TikTok video, she said, “Today I went to Burger King by my house,” and explained that she ordered a cheeseburger for herself and her daughter, requesting it to be without ketchup, which her daughter isn’t a fan of.

However, once having a couple of french fries and taking a bite of the cheeseburger, the girl said, “Mom, I don’t want ketchup.”

Believing that they messed up the order, Tiffany took a look at her daughter’s meal and noticed blood all over it. She was quick to contact the chain and explained there was blood on her daughter’s sandwich and to her surprise, the manager nonchalantly told her than an employee had cut their hand previously and that was how the blood got there. He then told her they would give her a refund if she returned to the restaurant.

Tiffany was shocked by the response and realized the manager thought the blood on the cheeseburger wasn’t much of a deal.

“Now I did reach out to our local health department. They did a report, there’s not much that they can do,” she said, and added that she wants her video to serve as a warning because there were plenty of people purchasing food from the place that day.

Burger King confirmed to People that it temporarily closed its Gettzville location, where the incident took place, for a few days to conduct a thorough cleaning and provide retraining for the staff.

“Every time you get food through a drive-thru, you open the bag up and start eating without even looking. I just want other people there to check to see if they ate it, too.”

Tiffany also added that she now needs to wait a month to have her daughter tested for any blood issues.

The video, which has been seen more than six million times, was commented on by a number of people who were concerned over Tiffany’s daughter’s health.

“omg imagine if the baby did in fact like ketchup?!?!??!!” one person wrote. “thank you so much for spreading your story. I am so very sorry this happened to you and your daughter,” another added.

There were also those who believed they would address the matter differently. “You can totally do more than that! Contact an attorney! I also live in NY and know first hand of an incident on the thruway w/something on a burger that was not a burger…state police were notified etc,” someone commented.

JD Vance is under fire as a ‘hypocrite’ after drag photos from his college days come to light

While Ohio Senator JD Vance (R) remains silent on the newly emerged drag photos, former Rep. George Santos has been vocal on the matter.

On Sunday, a photo of the Republican vice presidential nominee in a blonde wig and a long dress went viral, drawing attention due to its clash with the GOP’s frequent stance against drag and LGBTQ+ rights.

The photos that caused a stir on the social media were posted on X by Matt Bernstein with the caption, “new: i have obtained a photo of jd vance in drag while at yale law school.” 

The authenticity of the photos was confirmed by Travis Whitfill, who provided them, stating, “This was taken in 2012… Photo was taken by a classmate and sent to me.”

As expected, people reacted to the photo, with one person writing, “Ladies and gentleman, a picture of JD Vance in drag while attending Yale Law School. I don’t share this to shame those who do drag, but rather to shame those who attack drag while having a history of enjoying the art form themselves.” Someone else commented: “Feelin’ cute. Might run for Vice President later.” A third added: “Don’t call JD Vance weird because he wore drag. Call him a hypocrite and a bigot for demonizing others who wear drag.”

There were also those who stood for Vance, including Republican U.S. representative from New York George Santos who said Vance’s photos were more of a goofy costume from a college house party than drag, as reported by TMZ.

“To call that drag is disingenuous and I think most dudes at some point in their lives have played around with costumes that are gender bender. Couples do that all the time. The wife will dress up as a guy, the husband will dress up as a woman. It’s definitely not drag,” Santos said.
