3-year-old boy goes viral after leading Pre-K class in prayer at St. Louis Christian school

Isn’t it incredible how little children can be more considerate and more thoughtful than the adults at times? Although they have their whole life ahead of them, some kids learn the true values on life from very early age. Of course, most times, it is their parents who teach them right from wrong and guide them towards growing into good humans.

When the video of sweet Makhi Martin was posted online in January 2020, his mom had no idea it would turn her little boy in one of the most loved individuals in America.

Although he was just three years old, he managed to steal the hearts of millions by leading his class in prayer before lunch at the Transformation Christian School in St. Louis. Makhi starts the prayer with the words “Father God,” and the whole class repeats after him. He then continuous saying, “We thank you for this food. We ask you to bless it. Make it nourishment to our bodies.”

He ends his prayer by asking God to “bless all the boys and girls all over the world to receive food.”

His mother, Ranisha Martin, posted the video on Instagram and it was later shared on YouTube where it has been seen over 6.7 million times.

Ranisha never heard Makhi say a prayer that clearly. She was surprised herself and said she’s proud of her boy. She also added how they received a lot of positive comments from people from all over the country and beyond.

3-year-old girl attacked by a dog wearing service vest while at a restaurant

3-year-old girl named Ronin Waldroup suffered horrible injuries on her face and experienced emotional trauma after she was attacked by a dog wearing a service vest in a restaurant in Old Town Spring, Texas.

The girl entered the place with her parents’ friend, Kimberly Parker, while her mom and dad were folding the stroller outside. Everything happened very quickly, and according to Kimberly, once she and Ronin stood in line, the girl came face to face with the Pit Bull which attacked her out of the blue.

“It had a hold of her face and shook her,” she told ABC News. “The lady pulled on the leash, the dog released her and she just dropped like a rag doll.”

Fox19 News

After the incident, the woman ran out of the restaurant, but Ronin’s dad, James Waldroup, started chasing her and reached her. However, the woman never said she was sorry or apologized for what her dog did. On the contrary, she started yelling how everything was the girl’s fault, which according to witnesses wasn’t true.

Sweet Ronin ended up with 15 stitches on her face, according to a GoFundMe page set up to help the family with the hospital expenses.

According to the doctors, the scars will not be extremely bad, but they advised the Waldroups to consult a plastic surgeon.

“It’s enough that she’s going to have the mental trauma,” Ronin’s mom Cleveratta told ABC News. “I don’t want her to look in the mirror and have that be a constant reminder of what happened.”

The woman with the dog was identified and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported how they scheduled a meeting with her regarding the incident in which her service dog was involved.

Ronin’s parents are asking for the dog owner to be held accountable. “For them to not show any compassion or any remorse to even stop and ask if my baby was OK, it goes beyond words,” Cleveratta said.

We wish Ronin forget this horrific incident over time and we hope she recovers as soon as possible.

5-yr-old girl sings and signs Xmas song at holiday concert for her deaf parents

Raising your kids the right way by teaching them to honor the true values in life is what a great parenting is all about. Claire’s parents have to be the proudest mommy and daddy because their daughter is a real angel with a heart of gold.

Unfortunately, they are both deaf, but that didn’t stop this cutie and her little sister to communicate with them. Ever since Claire was very young, she learned the American sign language.

What she did for her parents is sweet beyond words, and it will certainly make tears of joy roll down your face.

The school Claire attends was getting everything set for the annual Christmas show, and all the kids prepared a song to perform in front of the audience consisting mainly of family members. Claire knew mom and dad will be among the crowd and she just felt it would be pity for them not to understand what their little girl was singing. After giving it some thought, she decided to translate the lyrics into sign language. When the kids got on the stage and started singing, Claire sang with her hands. Her parents had no idea she was about to do that and they couldn’t contain their excitement and simply couldn’t believe the amazing gesture. It was the best Christmas present they could think of.

Claire’s action made her a hero in the eyes of mom and dad, and we agree that she is the daughter anyone would ask for. You go girl!

Boy took his own life because he couldn’t put up with his bullies any longer

The story of this heartbroken mother whose beautiful and intelligent son took his own life because he couldn’t put up with being bullied any longer will get you down to tears. No parent should ever experience the pain of losing a child, and the family of Daniel went through such pain because of some kids who wouldn’t leave him alone and made his life miserable.

Amy Briggs speaks openly of what preceded her son’s tragic death. She describes Daniel as a very special young man who showed interest in many different fields. He was always helpful and wanted to have friends, but because of one reason or another, he became a target of the bullies at his school. They did many horrific things to him. Many times, he was jumped in buses and called names. But the bulling continued even when he would go home. The cruel kids sent him a bunch of text messages with insults.

One day, he told his classmates he was going to kill himself because he couldn’t possibly live the live he had. Sadly, that did happen.

Friends of his dad tried to warn them of what their son said while at school, but the parents missed the call. They then got another call from another friend. Amy asked from their neighbor to check on Daniel while they were headed home, but it was already too late.

This family’s life changed forever. They no longer have their beautiful son around. Amy wants everyone to know of the damaging consequences of bullying and urges parents to talk to their kids and teach them right from wrong.

We are very sorry for your loss. Daniel, rest in peace.

Single dad takes hair-styling lessons so he could do his daughter’s hair – Inspires millions

Oh, that father-daughter bond! Is there anything stronger and cuter than that?

Meet Greg Wickherst, a proud dad of a young lady named Izzy. When Greg and his wife separated, his daughter got to spend more time with him than with her mom, and this amazing father loves every second that he gets to have with Izzy.

A year after the split, Izzy’s hair grew long and Greg had a hard time coping with the styling. Of course, he had no idea how to even tie it in a ponytail, but that was about to change all thanks to his devotion and caring nature.

Izzy and I are about to watch The Nutcracker! We actually have front row center seats, we are so excited!!!

Posted by Greg Wickherst on Thursday, 17 November 2016

Namely, Greg, who works at a local college, asked one of his colleagues from the cosmetology department to give him some advice about Izzy’s hair. She introduced him to the best student in her class who was more than willing to step in and show Greg some tips and tricks.

In a matter of weeks, this man turned into an expert. He practiced both on a mannequin’s head and Izzy’s hair.

“In no time, I was able to do a simple braid, then a fishbone braid, and a French braid,” he told the Huffington Post. “I even learned how to do a ponytail, then flip it through itself either under or ever. I call that an inverted ponytail.”

So since Izzy will be wearing uniforms to school, today I let her wear the clothes she was going to wear on her first…

His creations were unique and he decided to post them on the social media in order to inspire and help other dads out there. Little did he know that the hairstyles he came up with every single day would go viral. This led to a YouTube channel, Hair Dad, and even a contest a Daddy/Daughter Hairdo Contest where other dads post photos of their girls stylized hair.

Posted by Greg Wickherst on Saturday, 23 June 2018

Through his channel, Greg met another dad who enjoys doing his daughter’s hair, Philippe Morgese from Daytona Beach, Florida, who started the Daddy Daughter Hair Factory – an organization that hosts classes for dads to learn the basics of hair care and styling. There, dads learn brushing, detangling, three-strand braids, a standard bun, you name it.

What’s most important of all is that Izzy and the rest of the girls love having their dads doing their hair and being creative. Cute beyond words, I’d say.

Premature baby spent her first weeks in a sandwich bag and it saved her life

Her name is Pixie. And for good reason. She was born when her mom Sharon Grant was just 28 weeks pregnant. Complications forced poor Sharon to give birth via an emergency Caesarian section. And when baby Pixie entered the world, she weighed just 1.1 pounds, Parenting Isn’t Easy reports. She was so frail in fact, that the hospital didn’t have equipment that was small enough to keep her warm.

Would This Incredibly Tiny Baby Survive?

Doctors were afraid that Pixie, born three months prematurely, wouldn’t live for longer than an hour. So they rushed her into intensive care hoping to find anything that would help her survive. And they did something that seems unconventional but actually, amazingly, isn’t.

They placed her inside a sandwich bag

This may seem bizarre, but it’s a practice sometimes used by doctors. This is because a premature infant’s skin is very thin, allowing water to evaporate quickly, The New York Times reports. It came as a surprise to Sharon, The Telegraph reports.
“It was so random that they had her in the Tesco bag — it must have just been what the operating theater had at the time,” she told the newspaper.
During her first weeks of life, people couldn’t even hold Pixie because it would cause her to lose weight. Image by The Telegraph via SWNS
The hospital’s neonatology consultant told The Telegraph that the treatment is fairly commonplace. The practice is used for babies who weigh less than 3.3 pounds.
“It is now a standard treatment, where the wet newborn infant’s body and limbs are placed into a bag under a heater, which creates a greenhouse effect, and this is the most effective way of maintaining their temperature in the golden hour after birth and until they are placed in a warm, humid for ongoing care, the consultant said in a statement.
Sharon hoped the plastic bag would do the trick. And it did. Pixie began to get healthy, but it was a really rough time for her mom, who couldn’t hold or touch her for 18 days. Doing so could have caused the baby to lose weight.

And things continued to be touch and go even after Pixie was finally able to go home.

“We have been in and out of hospital a lot since she got home, and she can’t be around other children or ill people because if she gets a cold she will end up on oxygen again,” Sharon said. “But at the moment she is doing really well. She looks really nice and healthy.”

But baby Pixie is quite a fighter

Here she is at five months old. Look at how healthy she is: Isn’t it amazing that a product as simple as a sandwich bag can actually be used to save tiny lives? Why not share this with your friends and family?

“Married at First Sight” – Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner are still together after they tied the knot on the show

It takes years for some to find their soulmate, and many never get to experience the joy of sharing their life with that special someone. But now, imagine finding the right person and saying “I do” to someone whom you meet for the first time ever. This is exactly what happens to couples who are part of the reality show Married at First Sight.

The show first aired back in 2014 and features singles who agree to marry partners chosen for them by a group of experts, including a sexologist, a spiritualist, a psychologist, and a sociologist.

I know that this all sounds crazy and one probably needs to be out of their mind to commit to a complete stranger, but believe it or not, it worked for Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner.

Youtube/FYI

They were part of the very first season and are still going strong six years later.

This show wasn’t Jamie’s first of this type. In fact, she was part of season 16 of The Bachelor, and that is why the producers hesitated to take her in. However, if they hadn’t, she wouldn’t have met the love of her life.

Speaking of her love story and how it began, Jamie told People of her encounter with the show’s sex educator, Dr. Logan Levkoff.

“She came in the room to meet with me and I was very cynical going into it, and I fell madly in love with her,” Jamie said.

“I looked at the rest of the team and we all sort of had the same reaction. We really believed she wanted to find love. And if you think about the journey she’s been on to find love, you have to really want it to have done all those things.”

Youtube/FYI

She walked down the aisle with her little brother and her sisters were her bridesmaids. Jamie recalls the moment she first laid eyes on Doug thinking she wasn’t attracted to him.

“Initially, the whole thing was very awkward,” she told The Knot. “I was in absolute shock for the entire reception. I would try to sneak into the bathroom to pull myself together, but I’d always end up running into a group of my husband’s guests.”

On their first year anniversary, the lovebirds renewed their vows and the ceremony was featured in the spin-off of the show that brought them together, The First Year.

“For some reason we both took a leap of faith and we responded to a random phone call,” Doug told Jamie. “If that phone call came a month or two earlier or a month or two later, we probably wouldn’t be here.”

“Our journey began a year ago when we said ‘I do’ as strangers at the altar,” Jamie said. “What I didn’t know then was that I just met the most amazing, kind, patient and handsome man.”

After she suffered a miscarriage, this beautiful couple welcomed into the world their rainbow baby, daughter Henley. In 2020, their family grew bigger with their second child, son Hendrix.

He’s HERE!” Jamie wrote in a Instagram post, “I want to thank YOU from the bottom of my heart for all the prayers, positive vibes, & sticky baby dust you sent me throughout my pregnancy with Hendrix. I truly have the best frans!”.

“All that positive energy sprinkled out into the universe WORKED! He’s snuggling on my chest perfectly calm & content as I write this caption to you!”

The family took a trip to Disneyland recently and they are all very happy together. This love story is an example that miracles do happen.

Mother and baby die after she jumps from highway overpass holding him in her arms

Since the start of the pandemic, a huge number of people were left without a job and struggling to make ends meet. That led to many experiencing depression and feel like there is no way out of the tough situation.

Sadly, among those affected by what the virus triggered, including weakening the economies and job cuts, was a mother of one named Tonisha Lashay Barker from Memphis.

According to her grandmother, who spoke to Oxygen, Tonisha worked at a COVID-19 testing site before she was fired in December 2020. According to reports, not able to cope with her current situation, Tonisha, 26, took her own life, as well as that of her 21-month-old son, by jumping from highway overpass while holding the baby in her arms.

However, the investigation is still ongoing.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office got a call about a woman, later identified as Tanisha, who tried crashing her car into a gas pump at a Shell gas station near Interstate 40. Moments later, she got out of the vehicle and jumped from the overpass, as reported by wsbtv.com.

“A few minutes later, dispatch received another call from a truck driver stating that a large object fell from the bridge and struck his truck as he was traveling westbound on I-40 at the Exit 93 bridge,” People magazine cited. Tanisha’s and her son’s body fell on the truck and were pronounced dead at the scene.

YouTube

People close to Tanisha described her as a positive person and a loving mother. Friends and family members posted heartfelt message about her.

“I remember when I would stay at your house all night because I didn’t wanna go home,” one person wrote. ”I remember the unannounced visits from us both. I don’t know how we fell out, but right now the memories I have of you are beautiful. R.I.P Tonisha L. Barker.”

Others spoke of the importance of being there for one another. Maybe if people approached her and offered her help with her depression, a tragedy could have been avoided.

“It’s important that we encourage each other and call and check in when possible. I use to see Tonisha all the time, but never knew what she was going through because she would always just appear to be happy,” one of her friends posted.

Depression💔 You just never know💔
