Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 95th birthday with “scaled-down” event

Due to the passing of Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen celebrated her birthday quite differently this year. Few days before the birthday, it was announced that she would spend the day at Windsor in the company of her closest family, but no further details had been revealed.

As described by Bazaar, the event was planned to be “a scaled-down get-together.”

Prince Harry, who arrived to Britain for his grandfather’s funeral and met with his family after over a year, didn’t stay for his grandma’s birthday celebration. He was eager to get back to the States and be with his wife Meghan and son Archie. We, however, believe that the Queen’s children and the rest of her grandchildren and great-grand children were in attendance and by her side on the special day that she marked without her beloved husband of 73 years by her side.

Telegraph reported that even before Prince Philip’s passing, the Queen decided she wouldn’t be marking her birthday in any meaningful way as she planned for the attention to go to the Duke and what was supposed to be his milestone birthday. Prince Philip passed away two months before turning 100.

The traditional gun salutes, which take place at Hyde Park and the Tower of London to mark the queen’s birthday, didn’t happen for a second year in a row. Last year, the tradition took a pause because of the ongoing pandemic, and this year, because of the Duke’s passing.

Trooping the Colour, the Queen’s annual summertime birthday celebration, will not be taking place this year, neither will the Palace release a new portrait of the Her Majesty the Queen.

Queen Elizabeth is back to her royal duties. The Buckingham Palace has confirmed that she will be attending the state opening of parliament at the Palace of Westminster on May 11, as per Telegraph.

She will personally respond to the messages from the world leaders who reached to her after her husband’s passing and expressed their condolences.

The Queen is going through some rough time but we are glad she has her family by her side and the support from her people in these days of pain and grief.

Royal experts believe Prince Charles will “ditch” the Sussexes from the royal family once he becomes a king

Prince Charles wasn’t afraid to let his emotions flow during the funeral service of his beloved father Prince Philip. The future king, who is expected to appear more in public after his father’s passing and to be given more freedom in the decision making processes regarding the royal family, released a statement honoring late Prince Philip.

“My dear Papa was a very special person who I think above all else would have been amazed by the reaction and the touching things that have been said about him and from that point of view we are, my family, deeply grateful for all that,” Prince Charles said.

Photos of him shedding tears of grief went viral and many tabloids wrote of the closeness and love between Charles and Philip throughout the years.

And as the farewell to The Duke of Edinburgh was the top topic since his passing on April 9, 2021, the heated relationship between Harry and William was as much discussed subject since Harry’s arrival to Britain.

As per Daily Mail, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, made sure not to acknowledge Harry before or during Saturday’s funeral. In fact, according to the same source “ironically the only one who has expressed any sympathy towards him [Harry] is Prince Andrew.” He knew “from Sarah Ferguson – and now first-hand – how it feels to be the outsider, which Harry very much is,” the source added. “As far as the others are concerned, there is a deep sense of protection towards the Queen and resentment towards Harry. There is little sympathy for him after what he and Meghan said on Oprah.”

Prince Charles haven’t spoken publicly regarding everything that was brought up by his son Harry and his daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, but sources say he wasn’t happy with their interview that caused a stir.

Entertainment Tonight royal correspondent Katie Nicholl told Fox: “My understanding is that Prince Charles did want to issue a more detailed statement to the Oprah interview and possibly address some of those issues point by point.”

Another royal expert, US Weekly’s Christina Garibaldi said: “I feel that when Charles saw this interview, he was probably really angry about it. Maybe he’s just kind of on the defense.”

Angela Levin, a royal expert, was quoted by Express saying that Charles won’t be taking Harry’s side. “Prince Charles has wanted for a very long time to cut the monarchy down to save costs and to make people be worth the money that they got from the taxpayer,” Levin told TalkRADIO, as per Express. “I imagine that might be when Harry and Meghan are ditched from being members of the Royal family.”

Mom is outraged after teacher snatches the mic away from her autistic son during a Thanksgiving school play

As they grow up and learn about the world that surrounds them, little children should be given all the love and support because that’s the only way of helping them turn into caring human beings themselves.

Most kids are very sensitive and vulnerable so we should mind the way we address them, otherwise, they may lose their confidence in themselves and never retrieve it back.

This is especially true for children with special needs. They sometimes need more attention and a little bit more love and we should always be ready to give it to them.

Unfortunately, not many are willing to do that and that’s the biggest issue with our societies.

One mom from Nutter Fort, West Virginia, named Amanda Riddle shared a heartbreaking video of her son’s class performance for Thanksgiving. As all of the kids took their turn to speak, her son Caleb who is mildly autistic was the last one to share his part, but just as he got close to the mic his teacher snatched it away.

The poor boy could be heard screaming, “Oh no” as he sobbed by the empty mic stand.

“She just went and snatched the microphone from him,” mother Amanda said. “My heart broke, to watch that.”

What’s most, Caleb played the Thanksgiving turkey and his line was “gobble gobble gobble.”

People who have seen the heart-wrenching video were furious at the school and the teacher who said how Caleb already had his part during the show and additional “gobble, gobble, gobble” wasn’t in the script nor planned.

Amanda felt really bad for her son and wonders whether it would killed them if they let Caleb say his line again.

We believe the school and the staff should be more considerate, especially when it comes to students like Caleb who are more sensitive and need extra attention.

Was it Prince William who requested not to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with his brother at Prince Philip’s funeral?

“We have been inspired by his unwavering loyalty to our Queen, by his service to the nation and the Commonwealth, by his courage, fortitude and faith,” were the words of the Dean of Windsor at the funeral of Britain’s longest serving consort, Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh.

He was a great man who served his people and the Queen, and even in death, he managed to do some good for the well-being of his family, joining his grandsons together.

The two brothers, princess William and Harry, saw each other for the first time after over a year at their granddad’s funeral. The relationship between the two became intense after the interview The Sussexes gave Oprah Winfrey where they spoke of the royal’s family inability to help Meghan after she opened up about her suicidal thoughts and Harry saying his father and brother were trapped in the system.

Although they were spotted conversing with one another, probably thanks to Kate Middleton who stepped aside and let them solve their issues, it has been reported that it was William who requested not to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with his brother behind Prince Philip’s coffin.

Daily Mail, however, reported that the Buckingham Palace spokesperson commented on the issue and said: “This is a funeral [and] we will not be drawn into those perceptions of drama. The arrangements have been agreed and reflect Her Majesty’s wishes.”

According to royal biographer Hugo Vickers, the decision the oldest grandson of Prince Philip, Peter Phillips, to walk between the brothers was a wise one. According to him, “Peter Philips was incredibly good with the boys when Diana died, so I think it will be very good for them.”

Royal commentator Richard Kay believes that the conversation the brothers had after the funeral was “a momentous one.”

As quoted by Express, Kay said: “For instead of hiding behind the bulletproof glass of their chauffeur-driven cars, the family walked side by side together, ripped off their face masks and talked.

“This could have been a moment of risk, instead it allowed us the first glimpse of the possibility that somehow William and Harry can put their bitter split behind them and rebuild that once whisper-close bond.

Kay added: “It is hard to read too much into this encounter, for it was all too brief, but if there is to be reconciliation between the brothers, this was surely the moment of its inception.”

We are looking forward to hearing that the brothers were finally able to set aside their differences.

Queen Elizabeth’s handwritten note to Prince Philip included a touching detail

The Queen was said to had returned to her royal duties and is spending time with her corgis after the death of her beloved husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh.

According to royal writers, it only took a single glance at one another for young Elizabeth and Philip to fall in love with one another. She was 14 years old when she first met him during a cousin’s wedding of his. In the years that followed the serendipitous meeting, Elizabeth and Phillip were pen-friends who wrote to one another regularly.

When he asked for her hand in marriage, Prince Philip gave away his royal title, Prince of Greece and Denmark, but it was all worth it.

The Queen described him as her “strength and stay” and was left heartbroken after he passed away on April 9 of this year.

Sources close to the family said that she was preparing for her husband’s death as his heath declined after he was admitted to hospital a month before passing.

The funeral was attended by around 30 of Prince Philip’s closest friends and family. His children, his grandchildren, and even his relatives from Germany said their final goodbyes as his body was laid to rest at the St. George’s Chapel on April 17.

The Queen was shown sitting nearest the altar all by herself. She placed a wreath that featured white lilies, small white roses, white freesias, white wax flowers, white sweet peas and jasmine and a handwritten note on card edged in black on his coffin and the news on how that personal note was signed melted the hearts of millions.

According to People Magazine, the note read: “In loving memory, Lilibet,” which is how the late Prince called Queen Elizabeth. This is incredibly warming and truly a touching gesture.

Speaking to People Magazine, a senior royal said of the Queen: “Her family will step up and be by her side, but she will carry on. She understands that she has a job to do, and [Philip] would have wanted her to crack on. She did do so when he retired from public life.”

Kate Middleton honors the Queen and late Princess Diana with pearl necklace she wore on Prince Philip’s funeral

Despite the differences and the heated relationship between certain members of the Royal family, they have all united in their grief after Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, passed away.

Many wondered if his beloved grandsons, Prince Harry and Prince William, would use the opportunity to fix what is obviously broken and set aside their differences.

During the funeral, which was televised and watched by over 13 million Britons, the brothers could be seen talking to one another. Apparently, their wives, Kate and Meghan, want the same for their husbands; to try to make things right.

After the funeral, Harry, William, and Kate walked together, and the Duchess of Cambridge stepped aside so that she could give the brothers the chance to be alone and engage in a conversation. This was a move many praised her for.

Catherine, who was very close to Prince Philip, appeared at the funeral wearing black and acted gracefully as always. The moment she became part of the royalty, she stole the hearts of her people, not only for being their future Queen, but for showing dignity, grace, warmth, and for being a devoted wife and a mother who is always ready to respond to her royal duties.

The photo of Catherine from the funeral was shared millions of times, not only for the way she looked, but for one special detail, her choice of necklace. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a diamond and pearl necklace that belongs to the Queen and was repeatedly worn by Princess Diana during her lifetime.

British Vogue described the choice of jewelry as a “moving tribute to both the Queen and Princess.”

Late Princess Diana wore that same necklace, which was a gift to the Queen by the nation of Japan in the 1970s, during her famous dance with actor John Travolta.

Catherine added to her stunning look with the Queen’s Bahrain Pearl Earrings which were gifted to her when she married Prince Philip.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid tribute to Prince Philip by sharing a photo of them and their kids with him and the Queen, writing: “I will always be grateful that my wife had so many years to get to know my grandfather and for the kindness he showed her. I will never take for granted the special memories my children will always have of their great-grandpa coming to collect them in his carriage and seeing for themselves his infectious sense of adventure as well as his mischievous sense of humor!”

Kate did an amazing job reaching out to Harry in such a sad day for the family. The image of the the brothers walking behind their grandpa’s coffin was a heartbreaking reminder of their walk on the day they said their goodbyes to their mother.

Hester Ford, the oldest living American, dies four months before turning 117

Hester Ford who was recognized as the oldest living American died four months before turning 117.

This incredible lady had 12 children, 68 grandchildren, 125 great-grandchildren, and at least 120 great-great-grandchildren, as per NBC News.

Her family took to the social media to share the news of Ford’s passing. “Her light shined beyond her local area and she lived beyond a century with memories containing real-life experience of over 100 years,” they wrote.

Ford was born in North Carolina where she grew up picking cotton, plowing fields, and canning vegetables before she married at the age of only 14. After marriage, she moved to Charlotte, where she lived her entire life.

“She not only represented the advancement of our family but of the Black African American race and culture in our country. She was a reminder of how far we have come as people on this earth.

“She has been celebrated all over the world by local governments, community leaders, social media, foreign dignities and Presidents as a cherished jewel of society for holding the honor of being the oldest living person in America,” Ford’s family wrote in a post.

When women were given the right to vote in America, Ford was already 15 years old. She lived through two world wars, two global pandemics, 21 different presidential elections and the moon landing.

Ford’s husband died back in 1963, at the age of 57. Until the age of 108, Ford lived in her home all by herself, but after an accident during which she fell and hurt her ribs, some of her family members moved in with her in order to be able to assist her.

Rest in peace, Hester.

Meghan Markle is ready to put differences aside and forgive the Royals after Prince Philip’s passing

Many of his closest family and friends were there to say their final goodbyes to Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh. Among them was his grandson, Prince Harry, who stepped foot on British soil after over a year in the States. His wife Meghan Markle, however, missed the funeral ceremony. The reason why, according to her, was that her physician advised her not to travel, having in mind she and Harry are expecting their second child.

Some of her closest friends spoke to the press and said how the former actress didn’t accompany her husband to Britain because she wanted to avoid being “the center of attention.” She, however, sent a wreath and a handwritten note.

Meghan was said to had had a good relationship with Prince Philip, but as we all know, the things between The Sussexes and the rest of the royal family haven’t been smooth sailing. It started with Harry and Meghan stepping down from their royal duties and leaving Britain and continued with the interview the couple had with Oprah during which they revealed a lot of things.

Shutterstock

Meghan, for once, indicated she had been silenced and not much was done for her well-being after she opened up about her suicidal thoughts to some senior royals. The couple also said how there were conversations of how dark Archie’s skin might be. Harry said he was trapped in the system, saying that his father and brother still are.

All these comments and accusations created a stir, and the interview was a top topic for quite some time.

With the passing of prince Philip, many hoped the things between the brother, William and Harry, would get better. They didn’t walk shoulder to shoulder at their grandfather’s funeral, but were seen talking to one another.

As quoted by Express, royal commentator Christina Garibaldi said: “William thinks Harry chose fame over family. A source tells us that ‘William feels that Harry has got too big for his boots since moving to California and that success and Hollywood has gone to his head.”

Shutterstock

Royal author Penny Junior spoke to Daily Mail. “My hope is that if something good can come out of the Duke’s death it will be that it brings the family together. But clearly there is a lot of hurt there on all sides, and I imagine they will all be feeling apprehensive about seeing one another again,” she said. “With luck, their desire to support the Queen and pull together for her sake, which I am sure is what the Duke would have wanted, will win the day.”

Shutterstock

Daily Mail reports that according to a source, Meghan also wants to put her differences with the royals aside and is ready to forgive the family. “Meghan said her main concern right now is supporting Harry” the friend told the Daily Mail. “She said she left it up to him as to whether or not she would attend the funeral. Meghan said it’s during these times when family should come together, put their differences aside and unite as one.”

Hopefully, it will all turn out for the best for the Royal family.
