Available on YouTube, Megan and Harry documentary starts with a slideshow of photos of the Duke and Duchess taking a selfie, their wedding day, and separate photos of the two from the time they were young until this very day.
The video gathered over 1.9 million views in just 24 hours and everything indicates that something huge will be revealed in the documentary that will be released on Netflix.
Many believe that the timing for the trailer wasn’t the most suitable one because it overlaps with Kate and William’s visit of the States. The Prince and Princess of Wales are attending the Earthshot Prize Awards in Boston but there are no indications whether the brothers and their spouses saw each other.
So far, the royals didn’t comment on the series and it’s not known whether it would deepen the issues between the Sussexes and the rest of the family.
Most royal experts condemn the Sussexes for going public about the issues they have with the rest of the royal family, claiming these all-tell interviews during which accusations are brought are something Harry and Meghan should be ashamed of.
“Here it is, the day before Prince William and Catherine’s big royal event in the USA. Bitter Prince Harry and Meghan,” royal expert Richard Eden posted on Twitter.
“I’m appalled by the trailer for Prince Harry and Meghan’s Netflix reality show – and so are Prince William and Catherine’s inner circle,” he added.
On top of that, Harry’s memoir titled Spare is about to be released in a couple of days and it doesn’t come as a surprise that the wide public is eager to learn what the book contains.
The problems within the family started when Harry and Meghan decided to step down from their royal duties. But what preceded this decision is the Firm’s inability to provide help for Meghan when she opened up of her health state.
Harry spoke candidly earlier this year about the night Meghan opened up to him, revealing she had been harboring thoughts of suicide.
“The scariest thing for her was her clarity of thought,” he revealed, as per The Times.
“She hadn’t lost it, she wasn’t crazy, she wasn’t self-medicating be it through pills or through alcohol, she was absolutely sober. She was completely sane, yet in the quiet of night, these thoughts woke her up.
“The thing that stopped her from seeing it through was how unfair it would be on me after everything that had happened to my mum and to now be put into a position of losing another woman in my life, with a baby inside of her, our baby.”
According to the couple, they faced obstructions every step of the way and during an occasion, they made a request of the late Queen but she rejected it.
As per The Times, the Sussexes asked from the Queen to give them another property to live in, as Frogmore Cottage, which was given to them by the Queen wasn’t their first choice. The Queen, however, said no, according to the newspaper.
The magazine claimed that Harry and Meghan were keen to live within Windsor Castle itself, and went as far as to ask Queen Elizabeth if “living quarters could be made available after their marriage.”
Queen Elizabeth then “politely but firmly suggested” that they settle at Frogmore Castle instead.
“The cottage was a big deal. The Queen’s entrance into the gardens is right next to their cottage. It is essentially her back yard, her solitude, and her privacy,” royal expert Kate Nicholl’s cites the late socialite Lady Elizabeth Anson to have said.
“She was giving that up in gifting Harry and Meghan Frogmore Cottage. We all thought it was very big of her. She said, ‘I hope they’ll respect it.’”
This, however, if true, might be one of the reasons which led Harry and Meghan depart from the rest of the royals and settle in California.
