Prince George will never become King, historian claims

0

Prince George, the eldest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales might be just nine years old, but he’s already aware of how important and how powerful his family is. In fact, this young man has already been taught a a lot of the role he will likely be given when he grows old.

According to royal author Katie Nichol, Prince George understands his future family role.

In her book The New Royals, she writes, “They are raising their children, particularly Prince George, with an awareness of who he is and the role he will inherit, but they are keen not to weigh them down with a sense of duty.

“George understands he will one day be king and as a little boy sparred with friends at school, outdoing his peers with the killer line: ‘My dad will be king so you better watch out.’”

According to reports, George, just like his father, will most likely begin working full-time as a royal by age 35, if not sooner, because it is crucial for a future king to be fully aware of his responsibilities.

“William has not revealed to the world how and when he broke the big news to his son,” royal historian Robert Lacey wrote in his book, Battle of Brothers.

“But sometime around the boy’s seventh birthday in the summer of 2020, it is thought that his parents went into more detail about what the little prince’s life of future royal ‘service and duty’ would particularly involve.”

However, as we are all glad that William and George are in the line to accede the throne one day, one historian claims that it is very likely that George would never become king. If you wonder why, it is because of the long-existing debate of whether the monarchy should continue to exist or not. Many people believe that it is obsolete and wished that the line of regents ended with Queen Elizabeth.

Tax payers are not particularly happy with the lavish lifestyle the members of royalty lead and that they are the ones paying for it and keep the monarchy running.

Although the British monarchy is one of the oldest in the world and could be traced back all the way to the 10th century, the passing of Queen Elizabeth raised the question of its existence yet again.

A 2021 report by Newsweek revealed that a YouGov study showed that 41 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds thought there should now be an elected head of state in place of a monarch.

Hilary Mantel, an author and a historian who passed away September 2022, told The Times how she believed that prince George would not get to be king. She said that it is very likely that William is the last king of Britain.

“I think it’s a fair prediction, but let’s say I wouldn’t put money on it,” Mantel, a Booker prize-winning author of the Wolf Hall trilogy, told The Times. “It’s hard to understand the thinking behind the monarchy in the modern world when people are just seen as celebrities.”

“I’d like us all to say less, and let them have a chance to find some resolution.”

Mantel shared her opinion about Kate as well, saying she wasn’t allowed to have her own personality. Commenting the first photo of her as a Princess of Wales, the historian said that Kate had “the strained smile of a woman who really wants to tell the painter to bugger off.”

As this is just a prediction, we can never know whether Mantel was right or not, at least not until years pass by.

Clint Eastwood did old-school parenting – his son remembers the day dad punched him in the face

0

Clint Eastwood is one of the most prominent Hollywood actors who has been under the spotlight ever since he first appeared on the screen. His contribution to the film industry is enormous and most of his performances are until this day considered iconic. Over the course of his career, Eastwood won a number of awards, including four Academy Awards (out of 11 nominations), and four Golden Globes (out of 13 nominations). Some of his most legendary roles are those in Dirty HarryAmerican Sniper, and Million Dollar Baby.

Eastwood has eight children with six different women, but it was only on the premiere of his movie The Mule in 2018 that he appeared with all of them.

Getty Images

Scott Eastwood, the son of Clint Eastwood, as you are guessing already, chose to pursue a career in acting just like his dad. Now, if you have seen him in front of the camera, you will definitely agree that he inherited not only his dad’s talent, but his great looks, too.

When he first started acting, Scott took his mom’s surname as he didn’t want people to think he’s getting roles because of his father and not because of what he has to offer. In fact, Scott isn’t the only Clint’s child who wanted to try themselves in the movie industry, but he is the one who resembles his dad the most.

Throughout the years, Scott has posted photos of him and Clint side by side to show the uncanny similarity.

Getty Images

Speaking of his dad, Scott shared what it was like growing up as a child of someone as famous as his Clint. In an interview with GQ Magazine, Scott shared details of their relationship and recalled a particular story.

“I had taken my younger sister, who was, like, 14, to this party,” Scott said. “I left, maybe to go get beer with the guys. And I left her and I didn’t think about it at the time. Later, Dad found out that I’d left her there.”

What happened next was Clint grabbing his son by the throat, slamming him against the wall, and punching him right in the face.

“He popped me and said, ‘You don’t ever leave your sister at a party. EVER.’ And it was very old-school, very old-school of him,” Scott added.

The lesson remained with young Scott Eastwood. “He wasn’t afraid. None of this new-age bullsh*t where you can’t even smack the kid because everyone’s afraid of being judged or whatever,” he added. “That wasn’t the way that sh*t went down in that family… If you did something wrong, you were going to get punished. I learned quickly – you don’t do that.”

Getty Images

Clint has always encouraged his children to work hard in order to achieve what they dream of.

“My father’s definitely old-school. And he raised me with integrity—to be places on time, show up, and work hard,” Scott said and revealed yet another story from his life.

“I called [Dad] and was like, ‘I’ve got this job, can I get eight grand to buy a truck?” Scott recalled. “I’m working this job, I can pay you back ‘X’ amount a month, you know,’ and I remember the phone going silent… And he’d just be like, ‘Yeah, no. You’re fine with what you’re doing.’ He wouldn’t give me a dime.”

Scott, however, knew his father acted that way because he wanted his children to learn that they need to work and become respected individuals. “And I don’t want to give him all the credit. Because Mom had a huge part in raising me too, and making me a better man, but he definitely was the hammer.”

He then shared a heartwarming memory involving his dad. “Poking around the film set on Space Cowboys; taking long helicopter rides up the Californian coast, Clint in the pilot’s seat. Every now and then, he’d let his pre-adolescent son handle one of the dual controls. Sometimes, Scott would get dizzy and they’d set the chopper down in a patch of Redwoods and eat turkey sandwiches.”

Calling his father his hero, Scott added, “I try to pry as many stories as I can out of him.

“All of a sudden, you’ll get to a topic and you’ll be like, ‘Whoa, you and Frank Sinatra did what together?’ It’ll be stuff like that and you’re like, ‘Wait, stop, I need to hear this. You’re not going to be around forever.”

However, he was never given any of his roles on a plate. Instead, he auditioned for most of the roles in his dad’s movies and missed being part in many of them. But according to him, his father making him work hard for all he has achieved is the best thing he could ever get. “It was probably the best thing dad could have done for me,” Scott told the Sunday People .“He could have made it easy but I wouldn’t have learnt anything from that.”

“He believes you have to earn your way in life and I agree, although there were a lot of times when I would be angry with him because I knew he could have helped me out with money,” Scott added.

Animal found by police has worst case of matted fur ever

0

Getting a pet should be forever. Once they enter our home, they become family, and as a result, they need to be treated as such. Sadly, many owners treat their pets with disrespect, thus they neglect them and many time, they leave them behind.

A calico cat, which was likely a house pet in the past, was spotted by some police officers. When they first laid eye on the animal, they weren’t sure what they were looking at. The cat’s fur was so matted that it resembled a huge tarantula.

Being aware that it suffered from the matted fur which looked like dreadlocks, the officers decided to take the animal to the nearest shelter.

The staff were left in a complete shock. They have never seen such a severe case of matter fur ever.

The cat was sedated and its fur was shaven off. The poor animal has finally had the weight lifted off its back.

The locks of fur looked like tentacles.

We are so glad someone spotted this poor animal in need and din’t turn a blind eye but offered compassion.

For more on this cat’s story go to the video below.

Meghan and Harry ignored King Charles as the monarch celebrated his 74th birthday

0

King Charles celebrated his 74th birthday Monday, his first as a reigning monarch. As expected, congratulations came pouring in. Among those who sent birthday wishes through their official social media accounts were the Prince and Princess of Wales who wrote, “Wishing His Majesty The King a very happy birthday today,” alongside a photo of the King smiling during a visit to Yorkshire last week.

The Buckingham Palace also congratulated King Charles on his birthday by sharing a photo of him.

Although he decided to keep the celebration private, public celebrations did take place as expected. The Band of the Household Cavalry performed Happy Birthday during the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, while gun salutes were fired across London in honor of Charles’ birthday. The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery firing 41 shots at Green Park.

Queen Elizabeth II, as well as other monarchs before her, took second birthdays. She, for example, was born in February but her official birthday was celebrated on a Saturday in mid-June. It is still unclear whether Charles will decide to follow this tradition.

On his birthday, King Charles was given another official work position, one previously held by both his father and his grandfather, that of Park Ranger of Windsor Great Park.

King Charles’ father, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was appointed at the position back in 1952 and held it until his passing in 2021, making him the longest-serving Ranger in history.

“His Royal Highness took an active role in overseeing developments, such as the reintroduction of Red Deer into the Deer Park in 1979 and the development of The Savill Garden Visitor Centre and Virginia Water Pavilion,” the Palace wrote on Instagram, alongside posting a picture of Charles leaning against an ancient oak tree in Windsor Great Park.

However, as many were eager to send their well-wishes, Harry and Meghan didn’t share any official greetings. It might be due to the fact that they shut most of their social media down in order to avoid ‘hatred,’ which they allegedly experienced in the past, and their Instagram account, which is still active, hasn’t been posted on since 2020.

What many noticed is that they didn’t share a message of congratulations on their official Archewell website either.

We don’t know whether they spoke to the King privately.

One thing is certain, the relationship between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals, especially King Charles, remains strained.

Things are likely to turn for the worse with Harry’s book on the way.

Random House, the publishing company that will release Harry’s upcoming memoir Spare, said in a press release, “Spare takes readers immediately back to one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow and horror.

“With its raw, unflinching honesty, Spare is a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.”

At the time he announced he was writing a book, Harry said, “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born, but as the man, I have become. I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story – the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned – I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.

“I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a first-hand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful,” Harry added.

We are yet to witness how the memoir will affect the already broken relationship between Harry and his family.

We wish King Charles a very happy birthday!

Jane Fonda confirms she hasn’t got much longer left after cancer diagnosis but is ‘not afraid of death’

0

Recently, actress Jane Fonda spoke of her health and revealed to her fans that she’s been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of cancer that begins in the lymphatic system, which is part of the body’s germ-fighting immune system. At the time, she revealed that she had undergone chemo treatments and was doing fine.

“Cancer is a teacher and I’m paying attention to the lessons it holds for me,” she wrote. “One thing it’s shown me already is the importance of community. Of growing and deepening one’s community so that we are not alone. And the cancer, along with my age – almost 85 – definitely teaches the importance of adapting to new realities.”

As this is the third time the A-list actress battles this horrific disease, she admitted in a recent interview how she feels as though she hasn’t got long left to live.

She admitted that she’s “not afraid of death” but knows she’ll be gone “sooner rather than later.”

Fonda spoke of her condition to Entertainment Tonight and stated, “I’m not going to be around for much longer.

“When you get to be my age, you better be aware of the amount of time that is behind you, as opposed to in front of you. I mean, that’s just realistic.”

Being a celebrity, Fonda is convinced she needs to be the one to raise awareness and speak openly of her battle as it will help others with their battles too.

“We also need to be talking much more not just about cures but about causes so we can eliminate them. For example, people need to know that fossil fuels cause cancer. So do pesticides, many of which are fossil fuel-based, like mine.

“Believe me, I will not let any of this interfere with my climate activism,” Fonda added.

Not many actresses can say they’ve reached the fame Jane Fonda has. Being 84 years old, she is still very active and inspires many young women who dream of following into her footsteps and making a name for themselves in the industry of film.

One might say that having Henry Fonda as a father, Jane had it easy, but the reality is that this incredible actress reached her celeb status thanks to her hard work and her undeniable talent.

After three marriages, and quite a few relationships, Jane is now single.

Fonda is a role model to millions.

Among the many causes Fonda has been involved in throughout the years is her fight against the climate change. For that purpose, she moved to Washington and launched Fire Drill Fridays, together with Greenpeace. Although she has been arrested numerous times for being involved in protests, she says she won’t stop.

In 2010, Fonda was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in 2018, she had a growth removed from her lips.

We truly hope she would be able to win this battle.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Fonda.

58 years old today, this once famous actor has totally transformed, and people are not able to recognize her

0

Nicollette Sheriden never ceases to amaze us with her incredible looks. No matter now many years pass by, this gorgeous beauty defies them.

She started her career as a fashion model before landing a role in the short-lived ABC primetime soap opera Paper Dolls in 1984. Sheriden had her breakthrough with the role of Paige Matheson on the CBS primetime soap opera Knots Landing (1986–1993), for which she received two Soap Opera Digest Awards.

Further, she starred in a number of series, including Desperate Housewives and the Dynasty reboot.

Just recently, Sheridan, who turned 58 this year, gave an eyeful as she posted a photo showing off her flat abs in a two-piece swimsuit.

Being 58 and looking at least 30 years younger has to feel great, and this are some of the things Sheriden does to keep her body fit and in the perfect shape.

1. She starts the day with lemon water

“I start each day with a glass of lemon water with manuka honey and cayenne pepper,” she told First for Women. Further, as the day progresses, she has a concoction of one grapefruit, two oranges, lemon, and half a stem of fresh ginger. “It gives you natural vitamin C and balances your system!”

2. She is active working on her farm

“Between my horses and my dog, Oliver, I can’t decide what brings me more joy!” Sheridan, who owns a property in Calabasas, told First for Women. “Oliver accompanies me everywhere and is such a source of love and comfort to me. He is an incredible spirit and a love in my life that I hold so dear, but all of my animals help me de-stress in different ways. I have horses, and I ride, clean and muck out their stalls — I even have a tractor! Being with my animals is like jumping into a cool pool of rejuvenation that always brings a smile to my face.”

3. She eats organic food

“I’m very big on everything organic — blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and eggs,” she shared with First for Women when asked of her diet. “I also use a variety of Indian spices in my cooking because they are wonderful for reducing inflammation. I love cumin, which is good for joint pain. I buy wild salmon for its natural oils and will eat it with yams, which are very good for overall health. Lots of water and raw almonds are my go-to healthy snacks, and lately, since I’ve been hungry right before bed, I’ll snack on a sweet orange like a Cara Cara orange. That always helps curb any late-night cravings!”

4. She does plenty of workout

Speaking to Celebrity Weight Loss, this gorgeous actress said she loves being active. Among the rest, she does cardio, running, and hiking, and swimming. Further, she said she enjoys being at the gym and is a lover of volleyball and martial arts.

“The choices are endless, really,” she said.. “You could make simple chores become workouts. Like walking my dog, for instance. He’s really my trainer.”

5. She practices qigong

It is a practice that quiets your mind, awakens and energizes your body and refreshes your spirit. It is my foundation for opening to my potential…please join me,” she captioned this Instagram photo.

6. She loves skiing

“It’s steeper than it looks! 😜⛷ Overcome your challenges…you can do it!!! #snow #skiing #inspiration #transcending,” she wrote alongside a photo of her conquering the mountains.

One thing is certain, Sheridan is without a doubt one of the most beautiful women of Hollywood.

A photo in the background of royal video had fans baffled

Queen Elizabeth II’s passing and Charles acceding to the throne marked a new era for Britain.

When the late Queen was crowned some 70 years ago, Charles was just a three-year-old boy, who was totally unaware that the event he attended laid the foundation for him to become King one day.

Now that he became King of England, Charles has his hands full.

Just recently, the head of the monarchy and his darling wife visited Dunfermline, Scotland, for its 950th anniversary.

Then, they attended a reception at Victoria and Albert Halls in Ballater, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, near the Royal Family’s Scottish residence and used the opportunity to thank the residents for their immense support during the tragic event of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing.

As they do all in their power to serve the country and its people the way Queen Elizabeth did, Charles and Camilla ditch certain traditions along the way.

It has been reported that the Queen Consort will not be needing ‘ladies-in-waiting,’ because she has already hired two brilliant secretaries when she first set up an office in the past.

King Charles seems to be doing the same; he’s skipping a tradition as well.

When his mother was crowned in 1954, over 8,000 guests were in attendance at the coronation, and 129 nations were officially represented. King Charles is now allegedly planning to significantly reduce that number on his coronation which is planned to take place next year.

Besides numerous royal duties, over the years, King Charles has been involved in a number of charities. For one, he started the Prince’s Rainforest Project in 2007 to raise awareness of deforestation. At the same time, he’s been the president of the WWF in the UK and even started his own organic farm and garden at Highgrove Gardens.

Unfortunately, becoming King of the UK and 14 other countries — known as Commonwealth realms, Charles needs to step down from projects that are close to his heart.

There is no doubt that King Charles performs his royal duties with excellence. He also addresses the nation every now and then, but it was one of his speeches during the pandemic that left many puzzled, and it’s not because of what he said, but because of the background.

After being tested positive for coronavirus and spending some days in isolation back in April 2020, King Charles delivered speech from his Scottish home Birkhall via video call. He praised the staff at the newly opened NHS Nightingale Hospital.

Getty Images

As he addressed the hospital workers, Charles said, “In this dark time, this place will be a shining light.

“It is, without doubt, a spectacular and almost unbelievable feat of work in every sense, from its speed of construction in just nine days to its size and the skills of those who have created it.

“An example if ever one was needed of how the impossible can be made possible and how we can achieve the unthinkable through human will and ingenuity,” he added.

However, as people loved what he had to say, they couldn’t help but notice a detail in the background.

Namely, several photos could be seen, among them one of him with his sons, Harry and William, another one with his mother, the Queen, and a wedding day photo of his beloved wife, Queen Consort Camilla.

And then, there was a frame without a photo in it.

“Did Charles forget to put a picture in the frame?” one person joked on Twitter as a white silhouette in front of a black background could be seen behind the King.

Three university football players from the same team shot dead after school trip – ex-player in custody

0

The three students who were shot and killed Sunday night on Virginia University Campus have been identified as Lavel Davis, Jr., D’Sean Perry and Devin Chandler.

Lavel Davis Jr was a junior and wide receiver on the UVA football team who finished his freshman season at UVA with the second most average yards per reception in the nation with 25.75.

D’Sean Perry was a junior linebacker and defensive end and the third victim, Devin Chandler, was a junior wide receiver and kick returner.

Their deaths shocked the entire community and the person held accountable for the mass shooting is allegedly another football player, Christopher Darnell Jones Jr, who was listed on the University of Virginia’s football team roster in 2018.

According to the police, 22-year-old Jones has since been arrested and charged with three counts of second-degree murder and three counts of using a handgun in the commission of a felony.

University of Virginia police chief Tim Longo said that the university’s multi-disciplinary threat assessment team got notified that Jones was carrying a gun on campus but the person who came forward with the information said he had never actually seen the weapon, he only heard Jones had it with him.

“The comment about Mr. Jones owning a gun was not made in conjunction with any threats,” Longo explained.

Two other students were shot too, one of which is reported to have suffered minor injuries while the second one remains in critical condition.

Tony Elliot, Virginia football coach, expressed his condolences and spoke of the tragedy.

“I cannot find the words to express the devastation and heartache that our team is feeling today after the tragic events last night that resulted in the deaths of Lavel, D’Sean and Devin, and the others who were injured.

“These were incredible young men with huge aspirations and extremely bright futures. Our hearts ache for their families, their classmates and their friends. These precious young men were called away too soon. We are all fortunate to have them be a part of our lives. They touched us, inspired us and worked incredibly hard as representatives of our program, university and community. Rest in peace, young men.”

At the time the shooting took place, the football team was returning from Washington D.C. as part of a school trip.

Our thoughts and prayers go to the grieving families.
