13-year-old boy killed by what fell from the sky as he played basketball with his friends

0

A young life was cut short in the most horrific manner when 13-year-old Noah Inman collapsed in front of his friends while playing basketball.

The day which was meant to be full of fun ended with a tragedy and left Noah’s parents and family inconsolable.

The moment the young boy fell on the ground, no one was aware what happened. They just saw him experiencing what looked like a seizure, although it was obvious something more serious was going on.

He was quickly rushed to the hospital where he spent seven long days fighting for his life, but there was nothing that could be done.

It was later revealed that Noah was killed by a bullet someone fired at the area where he played with his friends.

A tear-jerking update to the GoFundMe page established after the incident read:

We are saddened to say our sweet Noah passed away this afternoon after fighting his injuries for the last 7 days. He was surrounded by family who love him dearly. He fought hard and we know he is finally at peace. Thank you all for your contributions as they will be used to help his parents pay for medical expenses and memorial services. Please continue to keep Noah and your family in your prayers.

Hammond Police Department conducted an investigation and it was concluded that the bullet that killed Noah was fired during a celebration. Mayor Tom McDermott Jr. asked the person who fired the bullet to come forward, labeling Noah’s dead as tragic and senseless.

Noah was described as a dedicated young man who loved basketball. His coach, Juan Maldonado, spoke of Noah as of a “dream kid.”

Rest in peace, Noah.

28-year-old builds home inside dumpster for $5,000 – wait until you take a tour inside

0

Whereas some people dream of huge houses and mansions, others find peace in rather small places. I believe that for a place to be called home it doesn’t necessarily be spacious, all it needs is to be cozy and provide comfort and peace.

Harrison Marshall is a 28-year-old man who used to work in the States and Africa before he decided to settle down in his homeland, England. However, it was long after he realized that affording a home in London was something out of his reach as the prices of the properties are extremely high.

After giving it a lot of thought, Marshall found a way to reside at the country’s capital without paying a fortune for it.

He came with the most brilliant idea, and we have to admit it that we love it.

YouTube / Southwarknews2022

Being the head of a small architecture company called CAUKIN Studio, Marshall’s work consisted of designing buildings by reducing the environmental impact construction has on the planet, so this wasn’t the first time for him to think out of the box.

What this man did was turn a dumpster, which he found at $62-a-month, into a home. The dumpster is placed in Southwark, London.

If you wonder what’s inside, we’ll be glad to share that with you. The dumpster-turned-home boasts a portable mini fridge, a small sink and a cooktop, and a mezzanine-style bed above built-in storage space for clothes among the rest.

As it doesn’t have space for a shower, Marshall uses his local gym to take showers and he does he laundry at a laundromat.

YouTube / PoliticsJOE

Marshall uses the social media to provide inside of his daily living routines with his followers. He paid around $5,000 for his tiny space, which sounds like a great deal having in mind that a one-bed flat on the same road costs $2,100-per-month.

“Building supplies including timber, insulation and fixings [cost] $4,620 (£3,660) [and] interior furnishing, including storage and foam mattress [cost] $380 (£300),” the architect told CNBC.

He continued: “With its ups and downs, I’ve turned my living situation into an art piece.

“It shines light on the absurdity of London’s housing crisis in a way that makes people smile and think.

“[…] I don’t recommend replicating it. I hope that I can move out soon, but I certainly won’t be swapping it for no savings and a small, damp room.”

If you want to take a closer look of this tiny home go to the video below.

Would you ever consider living in a dumpster yoursef?

King Charles to break 30-year tradition for 75th birthday – the risky decision could affect his health

0

Trooping the Colour, which is a significant event celebrating the public birthday of the reigning monarch of Britain, has been a beloved royal tradition for hundreds of years. This year, on June 17, it will celebrate King Charles, although his actual birthday is on November 14.

This would be the first time that Charles celebrates his birthday twice since this is his first year as the head of the monarchy.

Trooping the Colour typically takes place every year on the second Saturday in June and has its origins on the battlefield.

“In order to ensure that every soldier would be able to recognise their colours, the flag would be marched or ‘trooped’ regularly round the ranks. A regiment’s colours came to have huge significance for serving soldiers, and the gain or loss of colours were seen as decisive moments in battle,” the Royal Museums Greenwich shares on its website.

“This military function gained royal significance during the reign of George II, the first monarch to tie his birthday celebrations into the summer ceremony – despite the fact that his actual birthday was in November.

“[King] Edward VII also had a November birthday, and it was during his reign that the summer ‘official’ birthday celebrations were standardized. It was also under [King] Edward VII that the inspection of the troops by the monarch became part of the celebration.”

The event will include over 1,400 soldiers, 400 horses, and 400 musicians who will give King Charles a royal salute.

The tradition is for the monarch to ride in the parade, but since the late Queen was an at advanced age, the last time she participated in the parade honoring her royal birthday was back in 1986. This year, King Charles is reviving that tradition as the Palace confirmed he would be riding on horseback besides being 74.

“His Majesty The King will take the Salute as Colonel in Chief of the seven regiments of the Household Division, at the Birthday Parade on Horse Guards Parade, on Saturday June 17 2023,” the palace wrote in a statement.

“Marking the first time that the reigning Monarch has ridden at Trooping the Colour since 1986, when Queen Elizabeth II last rode, The King will join His Majesty’s Birthday Parade on horseback.”

Over the years, King Charles has witnessed his grandfather, King George VI, on horseback and then his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

However, many are worried that this may harm the King’s health as it can negatively impact his back, something he had experienced hard time with due to several accidents he’s been involved in, involving falling off a horse multiple times.

This was something many people learned about from Harry’s all-tell memoir Spare.

In it, the young Prince wrote that his father was once involved in a polo accident after falling off a horse and was in “constant pain.”

He aggravated his back injury three years later when he fell off a horse at Windsor.

“Prescribed by his physio, these exercises were the only effective remedy for the constant pain in Pa’s neck, and back,” Harry wrote.

Explaining how King Charles hurt his back, the Harry explained: “Old polo injuries, mostly.”

he then added: “As a boy, I’d seen Pa take [a hard] fall, the horse giving way, the ground simultaneously smacking and swallowing him. I remembered thinking: ‘Why’s Pa snoring?’ And then someone yelling: ‘He’s swallowed his tongue!” Harry wrote, “A quick-thinking player jumped from his horse and saved Pa’s life.”

In 1998, then-prince Charles broke a rib while hunting foxes, and in 2001, he allegedly fractured a bone in his shoulder again after being involved in a horse falling accident.

That same year, he fell off a horse again and was forced to spend a night at a hospital.

“He was unconscious for a very brief time, was taken to the local hospital and is now being transferred to Cheltenham General Hospital where he will stay for a precautionary overnight stay,” spokesman Patrick Harrison said at the time.

Back in August 2021, the King himself admitted that he has struggled with back issues during a conversation with Poet laureate Simon Armitage.

“I’d give anything to be more hands-on. But it’s the time that’s always the problem,” King Charles of his love for gardening.

“I love planting trees and plants, but my problem now is my back’s not so good. So I spend my life trying to do it on my knees. Which is all very well but digging on your knees is an interesting business.”

We truly hope King Charles would have a spectacular time during the parade and he won’t experience any inconveniences.

Queen Camilla leaves royal fans divided with her latest outfit

0

No matter if you are a fan of the British monarchy or not, one thing that we need to agree on is that the coronation went as smoothly as planned. It was a representation of what everything a monarchy stands for, and that’s tradition.

Following the significant event, the newly crowned King and Queen took a short break before they returned to their royal duties and before long long, they will embark on a journey across the world to visit the Commonwealth and other countries.

The break comes as a result of the hectic schedule the royals were forced to follow on the days surrounding the coronation.

“I spoke to someone close to the king this morning. I said, ‘How is he feeling because he did a pre-party, pre-concert party, and then after-party and did that skit for American Idol, you know, brilliant.’ The source said, ‘exhausted but knackered,’” royal author Katie Nicholl shared with GB News, adding that Charles felt exhausted.

“I’m not surprised, they need a good rest now because it has been a pretty epic weekend for them. Saturday was the day that he’s waited his entire life for, you imagine the emotional energy that goes into a day like that, but I think overall it has been a great success.”

The couple spent a week at Sandringham House, their private Norfolk residence.

In an attempt to “extending a hand of friendship and support” on the behalf of the royal family, King Charles and Queen Camilla would go on the largest-ever official royal tour across Britain, the Commonwealth, and other countries. Among the future events, many of which are being scheduled months, and even a year in advance, are the trips to US, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, among other countries.

Having in mind everything Charles and Camilla have been through together and how they ended up getting married, it’s safe to say that they make an extraordinary couple.

The two were introduced to each other by a mutual friend, Lucia Santa Cruz, the daughter of the Chilean ambassador. They started dating, but the relationship didn’t last long as Charles left to serve in the Royal Navy. When his duties there came to an end and he returned home, Camilla was already engaged to her now-ex husband Andrew Parker Bowles.

However, they never stopped being close. Even when Charles married Diana, he and Camilla were in touch.

But despite the scandals, including Tampongate, the two stayed strong and despite the late Queen disliked Camilla in the past, she gave her blessing to become a Queen before she passed away.

Today, Queen Camilla is a much-loved member of the royalty. When she’s not executing royal duties, she spends her time around her horses, does some gardening, and reads, as she’s a passionate book lover.

In 2021, Camilla announced her new literacy initiative called The Reading Room, a hub for literary communities worldwide to celebrate literature in all its forms.

“Inspired by the success of Her Royal Highness’s reading lists shared during the pandemic in 2020, the Reading Room channel offers new seasons of book recommendations, as well as exclusive insight from the authors themselves, in a community space for book lovers of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds,” The Reading Room is described as on the Palace website.

“If you learn to read, however difficult your life is at the time, you can pick up a book and you can escape. You can laugh, you can cry, it just takes you out of the real world and it gives you a different dimension to life,” the Queen shared with the Mirror.

“When we go away, the nicest thing is that we actually sit and read our books in different corners of the same room,” she added. “It’s very relaxing because you know you don’t have to make conversation. You just sit and be together.”

Just recently, she visited the inaugural Queen’s Reading Room Literary Festival at Hampton Court Palace, and as this doesn’t come as surprise, her outfit certainly raised eyebrows.

The fans were very outspoken when they saw the Queen wearing jumpsuit, a design by Anna Valentine.

“The Queen should wear more jumpsuits,” one user wrote on Twitter, as reported by Express.

“The Queen is wonderful normal, and down-to-earth. I’ve never seen her wearing a jumpsuit,” another added.

This isn’t the first time for a royal to wear jumpsuits, and as much as many loved her style, there were also those who criticized her choice of clothing.

“A big no from me. Not sure if it is because they are both wearing the same colour, but the width of those trousers legs just doesn’t do it for me,” one Instagram user wrote.

Another added: “Love the colour but… Yikes. Not with black clumpy shoes anyway.”

“Does she wear any other colour ever? Would love to see her in emerald,” a third commented, as quoted by Express.

We believe this jumpsuit fits Queen Camilla just perfectly.

Husband mocks his wife’s breasts at the dinner table – but her brilliant revenge is gold

0

Chances are you have stumbled upon this story before, but it is so good that we had to share it with you again.

This story begins with family of four, a mom, a dad, and their son and daughter sitting at the dinner table. After being asked about it, the dad starts talking about women’s chest with his son, explaining that there are different types of breasts out there. As he goes on, he decides to take a little twist on his response just to see his wife’s reaction. But when the mom decided to talk back, she has the last laugh.

“Dad, how many kinds of breasts are there?” the son asks.

The father, although surprised by the question, answers, “Well, son, there are three kinds of breasts. In her twenties, a women’s breasts are like melons, round and firm. In her thirties to forties, they are like pears, still nice, but hanging a bit. After fifty, they are like onions.”

“Onions?” exclaims the son. “Yes, you see them and they make you cry,” the father replied.

Surprised by her dad’s answer, the daughter asks her mom about the types of wilies out there.

With a huge grin on her face, the mom replies, “Well dear, a man goes through three phases. In his twenties, his willy is like an oak tree, mighty and hard. In his thirties and forties, it is a birch, flexible, but reliable. And after fifty, it is like a Christmas tree.”

“A Christmas tree?” asked the daughter, confused.

“Yes, dead from the root up and the balls are for decoration only.”

The dad, of course, stood silent. What a nice revenge.

This former teen pop star is now a doting grandfather who adores spending time with his look-alike granddaughters

0

When one and only Neil Sedaka, who was just 13 years old at the time, teamed up with then 16-year-old Howard Greenfield, no one knew that the pair would write some of the most iconic songs to date such as Connie Francis’ Stupid Cupid and Captain & Tenille’s Love will keep us Together.

Recalling the time of their then humble beginnings, Sedaka once said, “We had a cubicle with a piano and a bench but no window. You only got a room with a window after you’d had a hit song,” adding that the two were making $50 a week. “Every day from 9am to 5pm we’d write and then we’d play what we’d written to people from record labels. It was hard but it was wonderful training.”

Their room with a window came with the hit Oh! Carol which reached the top 10 on the charts.

Sedaka and Greenfield worked together up to the middle of the 1970s. Unfortunately, Greenfield, who was an out gay man, died due to AIDS. Around that time, Sedaka left the Tokens, the group which emerged from his school’s band the Linc-Tones. He did this in 1961, or the year many consider to be the zenith of their prominence with the hits The Lion Sleeps Tonight and Tonight I Fell in Love.

He continued his career as a solo artist who had hits such as The Diary and Calendar Girl.

Sedaka fell in love with the woman of his dreams, Leba Strassberg, the moment he spotted her at the now-defunct Esther Manor resort in the Catskill Mountains of New York during a performance. Her mother was the co-owner of the place and she hated the idea of her daughter dating a mediocre musician. But Leba’s mother’s oppression towards the relationship was nowhere near that of Sedaka’s mother, Eleanor, who made his life a living hell.

Even while she was pregnant with Sedaka, his mother would ride on roller coasters in order to induce miscarriage. Also, she didn’t want him to be a pop star but a classical pianist.

“She soon changed her mind when I got a royalty cheque for $62,000 for “Stupid Cupid.” My father was a taxi driver and never made more than $10,000 a year,” Sedaka said. Unfortunately, he made a mistake when he let his mother control his finances together with her lover.

“My father knew about him and accepted him so after the initial shock so did I. I even understood it, in a way. My parents lived in two rooms with nine other relatives and my dad was very thrifty whereas the other man bought her jewels and furs and took her to nice places.” He continued, “Only they were living the high life on my money. They went through hundreds of thousands of dollars. I couldn’t pay my taxes, nothing. My wife and I had to start from scratch.”

Once he fired his mother’s lover and Eleanor almost overdosed on medications “because she couldn’t stand to see her son and her lover at odds,” it was Sedaka’s wife who became his manager.

However, just as it seemed he would make it even bigger, The Beatles came to the scene and overshadowed everyone else, including Sedaka.

He continued writing songs for others and moved to London with his wife and their two children. Sedaka grew to prominence once again with the album Sedaka’s Back, the first out of the three albums he collaborated on with Elton John.

Sedaka was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1983 and he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

His music made many happy over the years and as much as he loves spreading joy among his fans, it is his family that is on the top of the list of his priorities.

Speaking of the love of his life, the singer-songwriter says, “I was born married… if you’re lucky to have that companion that does it for you, that’s a great gift.”

Today, he and his wife are grandparents to three and they love their roles of a grandpa and a grandma.

Looking back at his career, he says, “I could have been bigger but I wasn’t controversial enough. I didn’t do drugs or wreck rooms. There were no dramas in my private life…I had talent and I was hungry for fame, and you can’t say I didn’t get it.”

According to us, Neil Sedaka truly gave the world of music a lot he has to be proud of.

Powered by his lifelong legacy as an entertainer and animal activist, this icon is still going strong at 99

0

Quiz shows have been attracting the attention of the viewers since as long as we can remember. And we speak of these shows, one of the first names that come to mind is that of Bob Barker, an entertainment icon and a household name who rose to stardom the moment he appeared on the stage of The Price is Right back in 1972.

Barker was the host of the show for 35 years and won 14 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Game Show Host and four Emmys for his role as an executive producer throughout the years.

Speaking of the success he reached in his career, Barker said it is mostly thanks to his late wife. “She gave me the confidence to even try to do what I set out to do. She didn’t just urge me on, she worked right at my side,” he said in 2008.

Unfortunately, his wife Gideon died of cancer in 1981 after 36 years of marriage. “I never had any inclination to remarry. She was my wife.” Barker shared with ABC News.

He, however, found new love eventually, and he found it with Nancy Burnet, his partner of 40 years.

Burnet always speaks of Barker fondly. Right before he celebrated his 99th birthday in December, she shared something that surprised everyone and it concerns the host’s health.

Namely, Burnet revealed that despite his advanced age, Barker only takes one medication, that for his thyroid.

“He’s going to be 99, and he takes one prescription medication and that’s for his thyroid. And his health care or anyone who comes in to see him, they’ll say, ‘Well, we’d like a list of his medications.’ I’ll say, you know, let me just show you the bottle. That’s it. So, he does not take anything for blood pressure, cholesterol, the umpteen other things that most people take as they grow older,” said Burnet, joking about his one prescription. “He’s in very good health for his age and his humor is still in good shape. He’s had a very charmed life.”

Wikipedia Commons

This doesn’t mean that Barker hasn’t gone through medical emergencies and health scares during the years. On the contrary, more than 20 years ago, he had surgery to correct a partially blocked artery and to reduce the risk of stroke and in 2002 he actually suffered a stoke. Shortly after, he had a prostate surgery. He has also experienced issues with his back and had several cases of mild skin cancer.

Being a vegetarian, Burnet makes sure her partner gets all the supplements he needs. “It was not to replace meals but to enhance everything. To take that in addition to his meals because he was not doing well. He was looking tired and kind of frail, not just not looking healthy. And, you know, if you’re going to be a vegetarian and vegan, you better know what you’re doing.”

Shutterstock

Besides being known as one of the first as well as most famous hosts of a quiz show, Barker is also an advocate for animal rights. “This is Bob Barker reminding you to help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered” is one of his well-known phrases.

In fact, he became a vegetarian as he wanted to keep up with his late wife for whom he says was ahead of time. “She stopped wearing fur coats before anyone was stopping. She became a vegetarian before people were becoming vegetarian. And I gradually did the same thing with her.”

Shutterstock

“If young people are introduced to the terrible exploitation and mistreatment of animals in society, it will help influence them in anything they do,” Barker told the Associated Press in 2015. “When your education and encouragement fail, you have to have legislation.”

His love for animals and his dedication to make this planet a better place for them is just another reason why we love this man so much. He uses his celebrity status to make a positive change in the world.

Battling a decades-long eating disorder, Diane Keaton embraces her scars of aging but is called ‘ugly’ and ‘fat’ by cruel fans

0

Ut goes without saying that Diane Keaton represents a true legend and and one of the most accomplished leading ladies of Hollywood. Throughout her long and very successful career, which spans almost six decades, she has given the fans and the world of film a lot.

Back in 1968, Keaton took the acting stage and played an understudy to a lead character in the hippie-musical Hair, a play which turned serendipitous as she was noticed by Woody Allen who offered her a role in the Broadway production, Play it Again, Sam.

She and Allen played a couple on stage, but the chemistry took over and they dated for a couple of years. Following their break-up, they remained friends and worked on other films and projects throughout the years.

Keaton had her big breakthrough in The Godfather, but it was her reunion with Allen in Annie Hall (1977) that earned that earned her an Academy Award and Golden Globe.

The list of films Keaton appeared in is so long, that one has trouble counting. Among the rest, she starred in Looking for Mr. GoodbarManhattan and 1981’s Reds, alongside Warren Beatty, for whom she fell hard. “The first time I saw Warren was in Splendor in the Grass (1961). I mean, come on! He was, I mean, to die for. A Dream. I mean, Bonnie and Clyde? Come on,” she said in an interview with Variety. “And not only was he beautiful, gorgeous and sexy and captivating and mysterious and a great movie star but he was also an unbelievable producer and director, or is rather, is also an unbelievable director and producer. All of this is just so unique.”

Further, she appeared in Father of the Bride (1991), Manhattan Murder Mystery, Godfather III, Something’s Gotta Give, alongside Jack Nicholson, and a lot more.

Speaking Keaton, Nicholson said, “She’s nothing if not fascinating, and working with her, she’s very unpredictable, which I like. She’s very disciplined about it all. She approaches a script sort of like a play in that she has the entire script memorized before you start doing the movie, which I don’t know any other actors doing that.”

Wikipedia Commons / Ruven Afanador

Keaton is someone who is fond of natural beauty and aging graciously as opposed to the plastic surgeries many celebrities opt for.

“I tell myself I’m free to do whatever the hell I want with my body. Why not? I may be a caricature of my former self; I’m still wearing wide-belted plaid coats, horn-rimmed glasses, and turtlenecks in the summertime. So what? Nobody cares but me,” she said in an interview with the Daily Beast. “I don’t see anything wrong with face-lifts or Botox or fillers. They just erase the hidden battle scars. I intend to wear mine, sort of.”

Back in the day, at the start of her career, Keaton was under a lot of pressure to lose weight. It all started with her first ever appearance on stage, that in Hair. Sadly, that led to an unhealthy relationship with food which Keaton struggled with for a very long time.

“It was horrible. It was, of course, the lowest point of my life…I was a fat person, I was an obese person, who had somehow tricked myself and managed to hide it. So when you’re living with a lie for four years…” Explaining her battle with bulimia, she continued, “All I did was feed my hunger, so I am an addict. It’s true. I’m an addict in recovery, I’ll always be an addict. I have an addictive nature to me.”

There were occasions when fans slammed her for her looks and called her ‘fat’ and ‘ugly’ on the social media. “Wow. Diane Keaton got fat,” someone tweeted following her appearance at the Golden Globes in 2014.

“Well Diane Keaton isn’t nice, she ugly inside and out!” another critic tweeted recently.

Getty Images

When Keaton was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 American Film Awards gala, Woody Allen spoke jokingly of her eating disorder and said, “I didn’t know many things until I read her books. I didn’t know she was bulimic… I would be taking her to these high-end restaurants. $400 for dinner. If I knew she was throwing them up, I could have taken her to Pizza Hut.”

Keaton was among those who burst out in laughter with his joke, but the truth is that she’s taking the bulimia very seriously.

In the past, Keaton spoke genuinely of the fact that she continued to keep the weight off and “became a master at hiding. Hiding any evidence–how do you make sure no one knows? You live a lifestyle that is very strange. You’re living a lie.”

“People were nice enough, but I felt like an outsider,” she said. “I had a problem–it was sick and creepy. Bulimia takes a lot of time out of your day.”

Keaton became a mother later in life when she adopted her son and daughter during her fifties.
