Men Of Celtic Thunder Wow Audience With Hallelujah Performance

With all the excitement of wrapping presents, decorating the Christmas tree, the cards in the mail, stockings full with presents, and everything that goes along with the holiday season, we sometimes forget what Christmas is really all about.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year that celebrates the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ, and his love for us. So it’s the perfect time to show your family and friends how much they mean to you and how lucky you are to have them in your life.

Every once in a while we are treated by amazing performances of songs whose lyrics remind us to focus on the real reasons of the celebration. The latest performance leaves us speechless for it might be the most powerful rendition of late Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” by the eclectic Irish singing group Celtic Thunder.

This group’s concerts and live shows are best known for the theatrical style and the visual effects. Damian McGinty the group vocalist told AXS that what they do and how they tour together is a dream come true.

McGinty said:

“Every day you get to travel to a new and different city, but every night you have to do the same task –deliver a high standard of performance. So on a daily basis, it’s never the same, but at the same time, you have to continue to challenge yourself…

Our musical director, David Munro, brings a wealth of material and knowledge. He has a big say in creating what goes into the shows and records. David knows our voices and only picks material that he knows we can deliver both as individuals and as an ensemble. But there’s no magic formula. You start by stripping it all back to the fundamentals and then building the foundation from the ground up. That means getting all of the guys around the piano and determining which voice part works best for each person…”

“Celtic Thunder has really grown and has turned into something that has its own life. It allows artists to be individuals as well as challenges them to come together as an ensemble piece. It’s something we’re all very passionate about. We’ve only done a few shows for this tour but it’s already been incredible and the reaction has been outstanding.”

Singing “Hallelujah” in the video below is so emotional that is may bring you to tears. The members’ unique voices blend together in such a perfect harmony that will make you fall in love with the heavenly melody and the hauntingly beautiful performance.

Thank you, Celtic Thunder for treating us with such powerful emotions.
