Former NFL star remains unconscious after heroic efforts which saved his children’s lives

Former NFL running back Peyton Hillis has been hospitalized and remains in a critical condition following an accident in which he saved his children from drowning.

Hillis, 36, retired back in 2015 after an impressive NFL career which lasted for six years during which he had 2,832 rushing yards and averaged 4.1 yards per carry. He also had 1,050 receiving yards and scored 26 total touchdowns.

Following the incident, which took place in Pensacola, Florida, Hills was felt unconscious and was transferred to ICU via helicopter. Up until this moment, he remains at the intensive care unit.

Despite the news that he is in a critical condition, Hillis’ uncle share a statement saying that the former player’s condition improves.

“I just wanted to let everyone know on Razorback Nation that Peyton is doing better. He’s still in intensive care and having some problems with his kidneys and lungs but the doctors say he is improving. I just wanted to head off any rumors that may be started. I’m sure he would want everyone to know that he appreciates all of the prayers being thrown up on his behalf!!!”

Hillis shares his two children with his ex-wife Amanda Hillis and is currently dating singer/actress Angela Cole, who is his co-star from the 2021 indie thriller The Hunting.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Hillis and his family as we wish him speedy recovery.
