Actor Quinton Aaron, the Blind Side star, has been hospitalized after he collapsed at his home. Aaron, 41, was climbing the stair when he suddenly lost feeling in his legs, TMZ reported. He was then rushed to the hospital.

The actor has been diagnosed with a blood infection and has since been placed on life support.

However, he is reported to be breathing partially on his own, giving his family hopes for his recovery.

“He’s showing a lot of improvement. We all have faith in God that he will walk out of here fully recovered,” his wife Margarita said, describing her husband as a “fighter.”

A GoFundMe page set to help the family offered an update on Monday, writing, “Quinton has opened his eyes and has some feeling in his foot! He is still on life support and going through tests. We are looking at quite a recovery time and will need a wheelchair when he is released while he goes through therapy to walk again. Thank you to all of you for your support and prayers.”

Previously, the page described the situation as “sudden, frightening, and overwhelming for his loved ones.”

This isn’t the first health scare Aaron has experienced. Back in March 2025, he was admitted to the hospital with a fever and bloody cough, which doctors thought were symptoms of Type A flu and pneumonia. In 2019, he had also experienced severe respiratory issues, including a bronchitis flare-up, but made a complete recovery.

Quinton Aaron is best known for his portrayal of former NFL star Michael Oher alongside Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side. At the time he auditioned for the role, he was balancing between being an actor and a security guard. He even offered to be hired as a security guard on set had he not gotten the role.

Earning $309 million on a $29 million budget, the movie was a huge financial hit, and though critics gave it mixed reviews, Sandra Bullock’s performance was highly praised and won her an Academy Award for Best Actress.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Quinton Aaron and his family. We wish him speedy recovery.
