17-year-old who went missing in 2015 while walking his dogs found injured, but alive 8 years later

Back in 2015, a 17-year-old boy named Rudy Farias of northwest Houston, Texas, went outside to walk his two dogs and never returned home. He was reported missing shortly after and his family hasn’t heard of him until recently when he was found outside a church with cuts and bruises all over his body and blood in his hair.

Rudy was unresponsive and is currently recovering in a hospital.

He went missing on March 6, 2015, and authorities searched for him for several days before they suspended the search. After his dogs returned home without Rudy, the search continued bu only for a day.

At the time of his disappearance, the teenager was suffering from anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic disorder. His family was highly concerned because he wasn’t taking his medications after he went missing and assumed he was possibly disoriented because of that.

On Sunday, July 2, 2023 the Texas Center for the Missing revealed Rudy had been “located safe.”

“Please continue to keep his family in your prayers as Rudy recovers in the hospital,” the organization posted on Twitter.

Rudy’s recovery is expected to be a long one because he’s still in a very fragile health state and only stays curled in a fetal position. He’s only able to say a few words at a time.

His mother believes that now 25-year-old Rudy has been abused during the eight years he was missing.

However, just the thought that he’s home after so much time brings happiness to his family who are ready to do everything in their power to help their son no matter how much time and effort it takes.

We pray for Rudy’s speedy recovery and we truly believe he’d be able to start his life over after everything he’s gone through.
