The military sleep method that can help you fall asleep in just two minutes

Sleep deprivation and difficulties falling asleep are more common that you might think. Most people experience these issues at certain point in their lives, and the reasons vary.

Some of the causes are stress and anxiety, poor sleep environment, consuming too much caffeine and nicotine, irregular sleep schedule, as well as medical conditions and hormonal changes.

When you are sleep deprived, you are likely to feel tired, forgetful, and irritable during the day.

Luckily, there are ways that can help you fall asleep easily, and a military sleep method that is currently trending on the social media is one of them.

Justin Agustin, a fitness and health influencer, is the man who popularized this military sleep method that apparently helps you fall asleep in just two minutes.

According to him, it works for 96% of those who have given it a go and were more than happy to share the results under the comment section of his viral TikTok video.

“I’m a military brat and was taught this. I also had a veteran psychology teacher in college who taught this. It definitely works.”

Another person added: “I’ve got really bad insomnia and nothing works. I get some sleep with a lot of meds, but I never wake up rested. I’m trying this tonight.”

A third commented: “My mom taught me this and I taught my children. My son has many challenges, and this helps him relax and fall asleep quickly, he’s 9.”

According to Glamour, “[The military sleep method] was created specifically for soldiers in the US military and is geared to work even in intense environments—like a literal battlefield.”

If you want to try it yourself, the video below shows how it’s done.

It’s all about releasing your muscles, starting with the ones on your face and going down to your hands and shoulders. Next, exhale and expand your chest while keeping your arms and shoulders relaxed and comfortable. Ease tension in your legs, starting with the thighs, and followed by your calves, ankles, and feet.

Finally, clear your mind by creating a serene image in your mind.
