Has it ever happened that you stumbled upon an odd object whose purpose was totally questionable? If yes, you are not alone.

There are plenty of objects people used in the past that are no longer popular, and when we find them in our basements, the attics, or other places, we can’t help but question what they were used for. Luckily, we have the Internet today and we rely heavily on it and the netizens to unravel these mysteries.

1. Cuneiform Tablet from the Louvre

This object, with a heavy chunk of metal that had retained its color for decades, turned out to be a cuneiform tablet, commonly sold as a souvenir at the Louvre and other museums.

2. Lockout/Tagout Gang Lock

Another object that gathered the attention of Internet users was a type of clamp that wouldn’t open beyond a certain point. netizens were quick to identify it as a gang lock used for Lockout/Tagout in workplaces, ensuring the safety of multiple people working with equipment.

3. Mystery Keychain Attachment

Someone found a random metal object that turned out to be used as a key chain attachment.

4. Antique Butcher’s Thumb Protector

If you’re unsure of its purpose, this item can be quite puzzling. After asking for some help online, the person who found it learned it was an antique butcher’s thumb protector.

5. Blue Reflective Markers for Animal Safety

If you have ever spotted these blue reflective markers on trees facing a field, the answer is they serve the purpose of reflecting car headlights towards the fields, helping animals avoid crossing the road.

6. Hand Warmer with Gel and Metal Disc

This small pouch with red gel and a metal disc inside is actually a hand warmer. Clicking the metal disc triggers a chemical reaction that heats up the pad, and it can be recharged by boiling it in water.

7. Clay Modeling Instruments or Cake-Decorating Tools

These tools a person found inside the apartment he had currently moved in turned out to be either clay modeling tools or cake-decorating tools. You choose.

8. The Wooden Box

Someone found such a box and after opening it, they noticed more wooden pieces in different colors. As they had no idea what the purpose of those colorful slats were, they asked the Reddit community for help. It turned out the box was a Montessori toy designed to teach kids the colors and improve their matching skills as well as provide a fun and interactive learning experience.

9. Baby Bottle and Glass Drainer

This spiky plastic item turned out to be a baby bottle and glass drainer.

10. Neon Rainbow Acrylic Support Tiles for Mahjong

Obtaining fluorescent rainbow acrylic mystery sticks from a thrift shop left someone perplexed. Internet sleuths determined they were acrylic support tiles for playing Mahjong.

11. Occupancy Sensor for Office Workstations

A device affixed beneath an office desk left someone questioning its purpose. It was identified as an occupancy sensor designed to assist in organizing workstations within an office.

12. Boy Scouts Neckerchief Slide

This small metal ornament buried on a rural farm featuring an eagle, Flor de Lis, and rope pattern turned out to be a Boy Scouts neckerchief slide.

13. Mesh Bed Bug Detector

Staying in a hotel room and noticing a red-flashing light emanating from a rubber piece on the bed leg? It’s actually a mesh bed bug detector.

14. Ruling Pen for Calligraphy

This rather strange and unique item with a metal dial on the top is actually a ruling pen for drawing with ink or other drawing fluids.

15. Old Puzzle Called Octo-mania

Someone stumbled upon a wooden box with six numbered wooden cubes inside. After asking the netizens for help, they learned it was an old game called Octo-mania.

16. Tool for Leather Manipulation

If you were the one discovering this wooden tool with a metal part marked with the letter A, you would be as curious as the person who wondered what its purpose might be. t is, in fact, a tool designed for softening, imprinting, and cutting leather.

17. Hair Scissors Key for Adjusting Hair Clippers

This cog-like metallic ‘tag’ found in a hairdressing kit is actually a hair scissors key used for adjusting hair clippers.

18. Shoe Polisher in a Compressible Sponge

This item, a compressible sponge soaked in a clear, oily, odorless substance someone received at a conference, turned out to be a shoe polisher.

19. Mosquito-Repellent Ankle Device

Someone shared a picture of a man wearing an ankle device at a Caribbean resort and was curious about its purpose. Internet detectives identified it as a mosquito-repellent device.

Jennifer Garner trying to save ex-husband Ben Affleck’s marriage to Jennifer Lopez – wants to ‘keep them together,’ says source

Amid ongoing rumors that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are having difficulties with their marriage, Afflek’s ex-wife and mother to his children, Jennifer Garner, is “encouraging Ben to work on his marriage to Jen,” a source told Us Weekly.

The source added: “[Garner] fully supports their relationship and wants nothing more than for him to be happy.” The reason why is that although their marriage didn’t work and Garner considers Afflek “a complicated guy,” the two have always been very cooperative when it comes to their children, Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.

Further, it has been reported by some media outlets that it was Lopez herself who turned to Garner for help as she feels like Garner is “one of the only people in the world who would understand what she is going through.”

A source told the Daily Mail: “[Garner] has been through it with the same man herself and although the circumstances were quite different… they both dealt with some of the same issues.”

Garner and Affleck split up in 2018, and the 52-year-old actress started dating businessman John Miller. While she has moved on romantically from her ex-husband, she considers Lopez a stabilizing influence in his life and wants to help save their marriage.

“Jen does not want Ben to pull the plug on this marriage because she really does care about JLo,” an insider told the Daily Mail. They added that Garner “did go to his house to talk to him about this and to try and keep the two of them together.”

“JLo was told several times by Jen how valued she is in all their lives,” the source added. “She is one of the only women who can get through to Ben and keep him from jumping off the deep end with his addiction.”

Back in 2020, Affleck admitted in a New York Times interview that his drinking had worsened his “marital problems” with Garner.

“People with compulsive behavior, and I am one, have this kind of basic discomfort all the time that they’re trying to make go away,” he said at the time. “You’re trying to make yourself feel better with eating or drinking or sex or gambling or shopping or whatever. But that ends up making your life worse. Then you do more of it to make that discomfort go away. Then the real pain starts.”

“It becomes a vicious cycle you can’t break,” he continued. “That’s at least what happened to me.”

Earlier this week, Affleck was absent from the premiere of his wife’s new movie, Atlas.

Pat Sajak’s final ‘Wheel of Fortune’ episode has an airdate

Pat Sajak, the long-time host of Wheel of Fortune, has announced his retirement.

After 43 years, Sajak will leave the show on Friday, June 7, when the final episode of him as s host would air, Entertainment Weekly confirms. The farewell episode will coincide with the current season 41’s finale.

For his role as a host, Sajak received 19 Daytime Emmy Award nominations, winning three.

He has been part of Wheel of Fortune since its 1983 nighttime debut but has also hosted the daytime edition from 1981 to 1989.

In the statement he issued last summer, Sajak said, “Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)”

Stepping down from his role doesn’t mean Sajak would be leaving TV entirely. On the contrary, he will stay on as a consultant for three years. The network quickly chose Ryan Seacrest as Sajak’s replacement for season 42, with Seacrest also taking on the role of consulting producer.

“I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” Seacrest said of the new gig. “I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.”

Leading up to his last episode, Wheel of Fortune will air a series of episodes titled “Thanks for the Memories” in honor of the longtime host.

Vanna White will remain with ‘Wheel of Fortune’ through 2025-26 though she admitted it was hard to envision the show without Sajak. “Everybody relates Wheel of Fortune to Pat and Vanna,” White told PEOPLE in 2022. “We’re like Ken and Barbie, you know? We’ve been in everybody’s homes for 40 years.”

Queen Camilla’s ex-husband secretly finds love with TV host at 84 – and you might recognize her

Queen Camilla’s ex husband, Andrew Parker Bowles has found love again.

He is said to be dating Telly’s Queen of Mean Anne Robinson. As per The Sun, the former Weakest Link host, 79, and retired Army brigadier, 83, have been secretly dating for a year.

The relationship has been confirmed by Robinson herself.

“Yes. Full stop. Mind your own business,” she told Saga magazine.

Discussing her experience of re-entering the dating scene in her seventies, after being single for over a decade, she told Saga: “I’d been out of the game for so long. And also I don’t drink. If you don’t drink, you’re not as reckless are you?

“I’m a great believer in surprising yourself by taking risks. Personally and professionally. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If the worst that can happen is you get some egg on your face, that’s not terrible is it?”

In December of last year a source told Hello! about the relationship between Bowles and Robinson, which came fourteen years after the passing of Bowles’ second wife, Rosemary Dickinson, in 2010.

“They’ve been having an affair for about eight months. It’s an extraordinary match as they’re from very different backgrounds, and Anne has a reputation for being quite bossy,” the source said.

The couple reportedly met last year at a lunch with mutual friends, and since then, they have largely managed to keep their developing relationship out of the spotlight.

Robinson divorced her former husband John Penrose in 2007.

Following the news of their relationship, people have reacted very positively, with many sending messages of support and well-wishes.

“84❤️79, we need more love stories like this,” one person wrote on Facebook.

“She certainly looks better than his ex-wife and hopefully has a better personality,” another said.

“He clearly has a type lol,” a third person quipped.

Bowles and Camilla divorced in 1995 and it was widely reported that during their marriage, he had numerous extramarital affairs, including several with women who were friends of Camilla.

While Bowles enjoys his love life, Camilla and Charles are also spending quality time together.

The couple recently headed up to Aberdeen, Scotland, to celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary. Photos last month depicted them arriving at Aberdeen Airport after flying in from London.

Following the news of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, Queen Camilla has been a rock for him. She has been performing royal duties and the public appreciate her efforts and dedication. Camilla’s popularity has grown bigger over the years, especially during the last couple of months.

After all the heartbreak, Jason Momoa found new love, and you’ll surely recognize her

Around two years after he officially split from his now-ex-wife Lisa Bonet, Jason Momoa went public with his new relationship. He and actress Adria Arjona were spotted packing on the PDA on Tuesday, May 21. Two days prior, they made their relationship Instagram official.

People first started guessing that the two were dating in early May of this year when Momoa appeared at Basingstoke Comic Con in England and disclosed to fans that he had been in a relationship for a considerable period. “I’m very much in a relationship. I’ve been in a relationship for a while,” he told the crowd. “I’m really enjoying [my] privacy ’cause back in the day nobody gave a f**k, and now everybody does.”

Recently, the Aquaman star posted several photos with Arjona as part of a collection showcasing their trip to Japan. In one of the pictures, the two are seen smiling on a beach. In the post, he lovingly referred to Arjona as “mi amor.” 

“Japan, you are a dream come true you blew my mind. We’re so thankful for everyone who opened their homes, making memories with new friends and old friends, sharing another amazing adventure with mi amor. ON THE ROAM motorcycles and mayhem. All my aloha j,” the actor wrote.

Arjona has had a Hollywod career herself. After several notable roles, among those in Pacific Rim Uprising, Life of the Party, and a recurring part in True Detective, she had her breakthrough role as Dorothy Gale in the Oz book adaptation Emerald City. Although the series was canceled after one season, she has since secured numerous significant roles.

Some of her most prominent roles include Morbius, Father of the Bride, Good Omens, and Andor. Additionally, she appears in the new comedy-action Netflix film, Hit Man, directed by Richard Linklater, in which she stars in along with Glen Powell.

One of her latest projects, Blink Twice, was directed by Zoë Kravitz, Momoa’s stepdaughter from his marriage to Bonet.

Arjona was married to lawyer Edgardo Canales. Their relationship was a private one and no details of their split have been released.

Before Arjona, Momoa briefly dated Eiza González for a few months in 2022.

The new couple were both part of the cast of Netflix’s Sweet Girl, which was released in 2021.

Dog abandoned outside shelter with heartbreaking note and tears in her eyes — soon she gets good news

A five-month-old Cane Corso/pit mastiff puppy was abandoned at the Pennsylvania SPCA headquarters. The little one was tied to a pole along with a note that read, “Good Puppy. House Broken. Don’t Have A Name.”

According to a Facebook post, the puppy was healthy, but it looked like she had been crying.

“We literally had to wipe away the tears from her eyes,” the SPCA wrote.

“Our hearts broke for her. She was so terrified… At just five months old, this sweet girl has been abandoned by likely the only family she has known.

“But she was safe with us now.”

The unexpected visitor was named Minerva, and she was there to stay, well, until the SPCA found her a new home.

Minerva’s story was so touching that it attracted the attention of a huge number of people and it didn’t take long before the right people contacted the shelter and asked to adopt her.

Of course, many were glad Minerva’s story got a happy ending.

“Congratulations to beautiful Minerva and her equally beautiful forever family,” one comment on the post reads. “Thank you for adopting this sweet baby and giving her such a wonderful home with you.”

“Ohhh look at those smiling faces!!!” another wrote. “You are amazing!! She’s gonna be spoiled! No more tears there!”

Minerva is among the lucky ones who end up in families that provide them with love and care, but sadly, the number of dogs who never get adopted is huge.

The SPCA encourages people to consider adoption over purchasing their four-legged friends.

“We are seeing the frequency of dogs abandoned on our property rise,” the Pennsylvania SPCA wrote. “We are witnessing owner surrenders increasing. It may go without saying that adoptions have slowed down significantly.”

“Dogs just like Minerva are coming in every day. We are rescuing animals from cruelty and neglect. We are saving them after they’ve been abandoned. And we are hoping with all of our might that loving families will come to adopt.”

We are so happy for Minerva and we truly hope that more dogs will get to find their forever home.

62-year-old Billy Ray Cyrus marries 34-year-old bride Firerose – fans upset by one little detail

The Achy Breaky Heart singer, Billy Ray Cyrus, and his third wife, singer Firerose, tied the knot in October 2023.

The couple sparked engagement rumors when she posted a photo wearing a diamond on her ring finger on Sept. 13, 2022. It was later revealed that Billy proposed some months earlier.

“Billy looked at me and said, ‘Do you, do you wanna marry me?’ And I was just like, ‘Of course I do. I love you,'” Firerose said of the proposal. “He said, ‘I love you. I wanna make this official. I wanna be with you forever.'”

The pair first met some 12 years ago while he filmed Hannah Montana and she was there to audition for a part in the show.

Recalling the first time they met, Billy shared, “There were a couple of old pine trees on the lot that reminded me of Tennessee. Tex, my dog, and I would go out there in the middle of the day, and he’d do his thing. We’d stretch, and I’d think about how much I missed Tennessee. On that particular day, Firerose emerged from the front door. There was almost a moment of, I don’t know, recognition. I thought, ‘This girl’s a star.’”

He then continued, “She mentioned she had an audition, and I said, ‘Well, I’m sure you got the job.’”

Firerose didn’t get the part, but the two stayed in touch.

“I just thought, well, the casting agents, the producers, the writers, they’re all on the floor of where we do Hannah Montana. And I actually said to her, ‘Don’t ever take a strange man up on this offer, but, in this case, Tex will testify that you will be totally safe,’” Billy said.

“‘I’m going to introduce you to a producer, and you can kind of make yourself at home and watch us rehearse and, you know, maybe it might lead to a role or just another contact at Disney.’ And, so, off me and her and Tex went back to the studio. And I think she met a lot of the cast and met the producers, writers. And, in some ways, well, in a lot of ways, we became friends,” the Billy shared.

He proposed in August 2022, and not longer after that, she moved in with him.

Before tying the knot with Firerose, 34, Billy, 62, was married to Tish Cyrus for 28 years. The exes share five children together, daughters Miley, Noah, and Brandi, and sons Trace and Braison. Billy also has another child, son Christopher Cody, whom he had with Kristen Luckey, the woman he dated before Tish.

Being a singer-songwriter herself, Firerose and her husband collaborated on various projects. Most recently, they released their music collaboration – a cover of Silent Night as well as their music video for their fourth single together, titled Plans which was premiered exclusively by People.

“Plans’ is such a positive song full of love and passion. Everyone on set brought their A game. I’m so excited for fans to see what we created!”

When they shared photos of their wedding day, Firerose and Billy received an outpouring of messages from fans congratulating them on their union. However, one thing caught many people’s attention -Billy’s hair – and they decided to share their opinion on the matter.

“Could he not have at least combed his hair for the occasion?” asked one person. “He couldn’t find a comb?!” asked someone else. “All that money and no hairbrush?!” joked another.

Teenage girl dies of cancer – when her mom looks at her coffin, her heart is filled with warmth

Laura Hillier of Ontario, Canada, was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of thirteen. After intensive treatments, she was declared cancer free, but her and her family’s happiness was short lived as the disease returned again four years later.

Heartrendingly, this young and beautiful soul lost her battle to cancer on January 20, 2016.

Her family shared the devastating news on the social media through the Facebook page dedicated to Laura’s progress and struggles while she was still alive.

“She fought bravely and all of you would have been so proud of her. Her poise, her courage, her strength and her pure spirit shone through right until the end,” her family wrote.

The Nelson High School student was loved by many. She touched the lives of everyone she had encountered, and it was now her friends’ turn to show her just how much she meant to them.

They covered her casket with notes, expressing their gratitude, their love, as well as their sorrow that came with her passing.

Their wish was that Laura receive a love-filled farewell worth of a beloved friend and student.

Not only her classmates and teachers, but her family, neighbors, and even the hospital staff all penned tributes to her on her casket.

When they saw their daughter’s casket, Laura’s family were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support.

One of the messages read, “You were musical. You were artistic. You were understanding. You were my bestest friend.” Another read: “Very brave and strong. You will always be a hero.”

Laura’s favorite color, purple, was on display at the church and on people’s clothes.

Sadly, Laura left this world, but the outpouring of love from her local community was heartwarming to see.

May she rest in peace.
