Shannen Doherty finalized her divorce to ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko a day before her death

Shannen Doherty and ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko settled their divorce one day prior to the Charmed star’s passing.

Multiple media outlets have stated that paperwork was filed on July 12, indicating they agreed to a “default or uncontested dissolution” of their marriage, implying they resolved their divorce matters outside of court.

According to People, the document stated: “The parties have entered into a written agreement regarding their property and their marriage or domestic partnership rights, including support, the original of which is being or has been submitted to the court.”

Doherty also signed paperwork relinquishing her right to spousal support.

“I knowingly give up forever any right to receive spousal or partner support,” she wrote.

Iswarienko signed the papers on July 13, a day before Doherty lost her battle to cancer.

The Beverly Hills 90210 star filed for divorce from Iswarienko in April 2023, 11 years after they tied the knot.

According to her representative, Leslie Sloane, divorce was the “last thing” Doherty wanted but “she felt she was left with no other option.”

The actress’s request for spousal support sparked a contentious divorce battle.

In June 2024, Doherty claimed that Iswarienko was prolonging the process and deliberately delaying settlement, allegedly in the hope that she would pass away from cancer before the divorce proceedings concluded.

“It is simply not right that Kurt be permitted to prolong our divorce in hopes that I die before he is required to pay me while he continues to live his life and shirk his responsibilities to his dying wife of more than 11 years,” she stated in the documents.

Iswarienko’s lawyer disputed Doherty’s claim, stating that a settlement offer was presented in October 2023, which Doherty allegedly rejected.

“Kurt is not ‘simply wait[ing] for Shannen to die,’” his lawyer Katherine Heersema stated. “He wants the best for Shannen and he wants both of them to be able to put this case behind them and move forward.”

Doherty and Iswarienko exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in Malibu in October 2011. Their wedding was featured on the season finale of their WEtv reality series, Shannen Says, which documented their wedding preparations. This marked the third marriage for Doherty, following brief marriages to actor Ashley Hamilton from 1993 to 1994 and poker player Rick Salomon from 2002 to 2003.

The significance behind Kate Middleton’s Wimbledon dress has been revealed by an expert

On Sunday, Kate Middleton made her second public appearance following the stir caused by her planned abdominal surgery and her absence from the public for over six months.

The Princess of Wales attended the Wimbledon final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.

“It was quite a surprise to see her at the Wimbledon final, and we know that the Princess is a huge fan of tennis,” Royal expert Katie Nicholl said to the media about Kate’s attendance. “Since 2016 she’s been patron of the Lawn Tennis Association. She’s been at every Wimbledon, so I think we all hoped that we would see her there,” she added.

When she arrived at the event, Kate received a standing ovation as she made her way to the Royal Box at Centre Court to watch the match.

Shutterstock

Kate attended the match together with her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and her sister, Pippa Middleton.

“When she turned up, the crowd showed their appreciation with the standing ovation, which went on for quite a while actually, and the Princess [was] very, very touched by that,” Nicholl shared. “I think she looked quite overwhelmed by the moment, absolutely delighted to be there.”

“She is a great tennis player. She’s a huge fan of the game, and clearly Princess Charlotte has the tennis bug, too, something that runs in the Middleton family. So I think, for Kate to have not gone, and would have been a great shame for royal fans, for tennis fans and for the Princess herself,” she says. “This was an important event for her.”

Shutterstock

Kate’s outfit caught the attention of the public. She opted for a gorgeous purple dress by Safiyaa and a bow-tie pin that represented her role. The pin displayed purple and dark green, the club’s official colors.

According to Nicholl, Kate chose this looks “because the colors of Wimbledon are green and purple, so that that color of dress was a very deliberate choice, and I think she looked incredibly well and very happy to be there.”

Despite Kate’s usual attendance at Wimbledon, she was absent for the majority of the competition due to her current treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.

Kate made her first public appearance since she had disclosed her cancer condition with the public at King Charles’ official birthday, the Trooping of Colour.

“She explained that she has good days, and she has bad days, and we know from the palace that when they announce that she’s going to attend an engagement, it’s always with the caveat that if she’s not feeling well on the day she may have to pull out of something at the 11th hour,” royal expert Nicholl said of Kate. “Fortunately that wasn’t the case, and she was able to attend the finals for Wimbledon.”

“I think when we look at the Princess, we see her looking as well as she did, smiling, healthy, radiant, and we can assume that she’s now tolerating this chemotherapy far better than she was in the early stages and that she’s doing well at the moment,” she continued.

Shutterstock

Nicholl suggests that while the Princess’ appearance at Wimbledon was significant, it is ‘unlikely’ that she will make any further appearances.

“I was told there were two key engagements that she wanted to make: Trooping the Colour, and Wimbledon, both of which she was able to attend,” the royal expert said. “I was speaking to a source at the palace earlier, who have confirmed that [the children] are on summer recess and they will now just stay away from the public gaze. They will hunker down as a family, more likely than not at Norfolk and Mahal, their countryside bolt hole, and the Princess is not able to travel at the moment while she’s undergoing this course of preventative chemotherapy. So I think that probably rules out an overseas holiday.”

Shutterstock

“I think it’s likely that we will see the family go to Scotland at the invitation of the King and Queen later this summer in August. But I think it’s going to be low-key and very much below the radar, so I don’t think we can expect to see the Princess of Wales for some time now.”

Seeing Kate Middleton in public is always a delight.

Prince Harry opens up about upbringing as a royal

In Spare, Prince Harry opened up about the members of his family, getting into details about events that took place behind closed door, but most of all he opened up about his personal life and his younger days as a working royal.

According to him, he faced difficulties and an identity crisis.

The Duke earned his nickname Spike during a gap year in Australia in 2003 when he worked as a ‘jackaroo’ at Tooloombilla Station. “Soon enough my mates at home got wind of this new nickname, and adopted it,” he said. “I became Spike, when I wasn’t Haz, or Baz, or Prince Jackaroo, or Harold, or Darling Boy, or Scrawny, a nickname given me by some palace staff. Identity had always been problematic, but with a half dozen formal names and a full dozen nicknames it was turning into a hall of mirrors.”

Shutterstock

Harry, however, welcomed each of those nicknames no matter how confusing it was. “Most days I didn’t care what people called me. Most days I thought: Don’t care who I am, so long as it’s someone new, someone other than Prince Harry.”

According to the Prince, he was robbed of affection from his family during his younger days and was taught to keep distance from other people. “As a royal, you were always taught to maintain a buffer zone between you and the rest of creation. Even working a crowd you always kept a discreet distance between yourself and them.”

What’s most, the tittle of his all-tell memoir, Spare, came from his position in the family.

In fact, Harry opened up about a joke his father made about him.

On the day Harry was born, Charles allegedly told Diana, “‘Wonderful! Now you’ve given me an heir and a spare — my work is done.’

“On the other hand, minutes after delivering this bit of high comedy, Pa was said to have gone off to meet with his girlfriend,” Harry wrote, referring to now-Queen Camilla. “So, many a true word spoken in jest.”

Shutterstock

According to Harry, William was favored due to being the older sibling. However, Harry acknowledges a benefit of being “the spare” since “I have more freedom than he does, right? So his life is planned out for him. I have more flexibility to be able to choose the life that I wanted.”

Harry was somehow aware that the publishing of his book would affect his relationship with his family even further, but he still decided to go for it. “I have thought about it long and hard,” he said. “And as far as I see it, the divide couldn’t be greater before this book.”

However, besides the bridges the book burnt, Harry still hopes to make things right and reconcile with his father and brother. “If we can get to the point of reconciliation, that will have a ripple effect across the world,” Harry said in an interview about his memoir. “I genuinely believe that, and that’s kind of what is pushing me. And if that doesn’t happen, then that’s very sad.”

Shutterstock

Harry has consistently voiced his disdain for the tabloids, even accusing some royals of intentionally leaking negative stories about Meghan. Beyond seeking reconciliation, he aims to change what he refers to as “the codependency” between the tabloids and the royal family.

“There are some people, especially in the U.K., who have been led to believe that because you are a member of the royal family, somehow everyone owns you or has a stake in you,” he said. “And that’s a message that has been purely pushed out by the British tabloids, and it creates real problems within that family and that relationship. Of course, there has to be some sort of relationship, but where it’s got to now is incredibly unhealthy.”

Shutterstock

Today, Harry and Meghan reside in California with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

They have chosen to step back from their royal duties and are now working on developing independent careers. Despite his support for the monarchy’s continuation, Harry expresses concerns about its future generations. He is dedicated to promoting positive reforms within the institution.

“I also worry about other young kids within that [royal] family if this continues,” he said. “Because who’s to say that someone else doesn’t fill my shoes and that their partner, whether it’s a husband or a wife or boyfriend or a girlfriend, doesn’t get treated exactly the same as Meghan did?”

Shannen Doherty shared heartbreaking social media post just days before she died

The news of Shannen Doherty’s passing caught the world by storm and left many mourning. The Charmed star was 53 and battled cancer for the past seven years of her life.

Before her tragic passing, she made a heartbreaking post online.

During her battle with the disease, Doherty often shared updates regarding her health condition. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 when she disclosed that she had ‘invasive breast cancer metastatic to at least one lymph node.’

After several surgeries and treatments, the 90210 star experienced remission after her initial cancer diagnosis, but the disease later returned.

In 2020, she shared the devastating news that she had been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer, a severe stage where the cancer spreads to various parts of the body.

In 2023, Doherty confirmed that the cancer had metastasized to her brain and bones, resulting in surgery that removed ‘almost all’ of the brain tumor.

In her final social media post, the actress shared a clip from the Let’s Be Clear podcast on her Instagram page.

Gerardo Mora/Getty Images

“So, you know, for the first time in I have no idea how long, I’m going to be on chemo for I have no idea if it’s going to be, you know, three months or if its going to be six months or if we are going, you know, if after three months if it’s not working if we’re going to change again,” he said in the clip.

“Like, I don’t really, that’s not something that I can predict. It’s not something my doctors can predict and it’s scary.

“It’s like a big wake up call at the same time I got to say that there is some positivity there and the positivity is that because my molecular structure of my cancer cells changed recently.

“It means that there’s a lot more protocols for me to try. So, you know, for the first time in a couple months probably I feel hopeful because there are so many more protocols now.”

“Whereas before I was hopeful but I was still getting prepared.”

Doherty’s death was confirmed yesterday, July 14, by her friend and publicist Leslie Sloane.

“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty.

“On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease. The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.”

‘Families don’t have to match’ – Black couple share their journey to becoming parents of three white children

Sadie and Jarvis Sampson dreamed of being parents from the moment they met. Unfortunately, their road to parenthood wasn’t an easy one. Getting to that point of their lives where they became a mom and a dad took a number of heartbreaks they needed to deal with. But at the end, it was all worth it.

Sadie shared her life story with Love What Matters and explained how she and Jarvis tried to conceive, but to no avail.

“Ovulation tests, prenatal vitamins, cycle tracking apps, fertility monitors,” the Houston mom said.

“We even tried the unsolicited advice of friends, family, and strangers. For 14 months, we tried, prayed, and waited. Month after month. Negative pregnancy test after negative test. It seemed like we were going to need assistance to conceive. We even went as far as to talk to doctors about it.”

One doctor’s appointment after another, this couple wasn’t offered much help. Everyone advised Sadie to lose some weight before trying to get pregnant again. She took their advice and undergone a gastric surgery losing 28 pounds.

This seemed like a good start, especially after her OBGYN encouraged her not to give up because now her chances of conceiving were higher.

“She told me that if I wasn’t pregnant within six months then she would refer me to a fertility specialist, because she couldn’t prescribe me the fertility medication,” Sadie explained. “I was over the moon about that. Finally, we got something other than a no! We got a ‘not right now,’ and we were thrilled.”

“I had always felt like I was born to be a mother,” Sadie shared. “My surgeon had taken so much time to warn me about how fertile I would be after surgery, but I still wasn’t pregnant. So, we gave up. We realized that we were only destined to be an aunt and uncle to our nieces, and godparents to our goddaughters.”

Then, out of the blue, a friend called them on the phone asking if they would be willing to foster a baby of a couple she knew. Both Sadie and Jarvis got excited over the thought to step in for a child in need of help, but were worried that they would get too attached to the little one. Despite that, they agreed to become foster parents.

But then, the caseworker handling the case came with some great news no one expected to hear. She called the Sampsons and said: “The birth mom decided she would like you guys to adopt the child instead.”

“‘Holy crap!!,’ I said aloud,” Sadie recalled of the moment she found out she was going to be a mom.

“We went from not having any children, to the possibility of fostering one, to, ‘You guys are parents!,’ overnight. I listened to the case worker as she talked, still in disbelief. I hung up and called my husband! ‘Babe!! They want us to adopt the baby! They want us to be parents,’ I screamed. ‘Wait! REALLY?! I thought they just wanted us to foster him!,’ he said. ‘Nope! They want us to be his mom and dad,’ I said.”

They didn’t even have the time to prepare for what followed as the mother asked for an independent adoption and was ready to sign the documents in the days that followed.

The baby was born prematurely, at 33 weeks, and was still at the hospital.

“He literally fit in one of my husband’s hands,” Sadie told Love What Matters.“He was so tiny, swaddled in a white blanket, with pink and blue stripes.”

She added: “He had an NG tube coming out of his nose because he couldn’t eat on his own since he was premature. But my oh my, was he cute!!!”

Once they shared the happy news on social media, their friends and family encouraged them to make a registry. In no time, the new mom and dad were showered with gifts for their bundle of joy.

On October 2020, beautiful Ezra Lee officially became part of the Sampson family. On the adoption day, they all wore T-shirts which said: “Families don’t have to match.”

The great thing about Sadie and Jarvis is that their story doesn’t end here. In 2021, with the help of embryo donation, they welcomed twin girls Journee and Destinee. Now, this family of five is complete. Both their girls, just like Ezra Lee, are white, and that is what makes this family even more beautiful.

Shannen Doherty, ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ star, dies at 53

Shannen Doherty, star of Beverly Hills, died aged 53 following her nine-year battle with breast cancer.

“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty,” her publicist, Leslie Sloane, told People. “The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace,” Sloane continued.

Doherty had openly shared her fight with breast cancer, announcing in 2015 that she was receiving treatment. By 2023, she had surgery to remove a brain tumor and revealed that the cancer had metastasized to her bones. The actress, known for her role in the film Heathers, became widely popular on 90210 as Brenda, an honor roll student from Minnesota trying to fit in with her affluent classmates.

Speaking of her diagnosis, Doherty told People in November 2023, “I’m not done with living. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating. I’m not done with hopefully changing things for the better. I’m just not — I’m not done.”

Despite her struggles, she was always determined to continue working. “People just assume that it means you can’t walk, you can’t eat, you can’t work. They put you out to pasture at a very early age —‘You’re done, you’re retired,’ and we’re not,” she said, adding “We’re vibrant, and we have such a different outlook on life. We are people who want to work and embrace life and keep moving forward.”

Doherty remained a symbol of resilience and courage.

Before her passing, the Charmed star aimed to raise awareness and funds for cancer research, demonstrating that individuals with terminal cancer, like herself, still have much to contribute.

“When you ask yourself, ‘Why me? Why did I get cancer?’ and then ‘Why did my cancer come back? Why am I stage 4?,’ that leads you to look for the bigger purpose in life,” she said.

Doherty maintained a steady career and even explored reality television with the short-lived show Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty and as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

In 2019, she joined the TV reboot of Beverly Hills, 90210, reprising her iconic role of Brenda.

Despite being aware of her diagnosis, she kept it hidden from the cast following the unexpected death of her co-star Luke Perry in March 2019 at the age of 52.

She first entered Hollywood as a child star on the TV series Little House on the Prairie.

The actress has recently ventured into podcasting, hosting her own show, Let’s Be Clear whose latest episode was released on July 8.

Meghan Markle ‘ready to sit down’ with royal family amid rift, according to expert

It seems that Meghan Markle has never been a much loved member of the British Royal Family, and her and Harry’s decision to step down from their royal duties led to increased scrutiny and criticism from various quarters.

Recently, she was accused of trying to steal the spotlight when she presented a product from her newly founded company at the same time Kate Middleton made her first public appearance at Trooping the Colour.

While Harry is said to be “petrified” of losing Meghan and misses his UK friends, Meghan doesn’t seem to be interested in mending the relationship with his family.

Since Megxit, the Sussexes haven’t visited the UK much.

They did attend the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral, and Harry visited his father amid his battle with cancer on a few occasions, but that’s about it.

Dia Dipasupil/Getty Images

The two were said to have reached out to Kate Middleton after her planned abdominal surgery and then again after she disclosed her cancer diagnosis with the public, but they haven’t met in person. Reportedly, both Harry and Meghan heard of Kate’s condition through the news and not directly from their family members.

However, despite the fact that bridges have been burnt, some royal experts believe that the Prince and Princess of Wales are willing to bury the hatchet with the Sussexes.

According to royal author Tom Quinn, Kate and William were open to the idea of inviting Harry and Meghan, as well as their children, to visit England but Meghan wasn’t too keen on the idea and passed on the offer.

“There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK,” Quinn told the Mirror in early April. One of the reasons is that she’s concerned for their safety.

Mat Hayward/FilmMagic

“William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far,” Quinn wrote at the time.

“It’s now got to the point where Meghan doesn’t want to come to the UK with the children. She just doesn’t feel safe. The situation is now about whether the family should attend with increased security or Harry should go it alone,” a source told the Mirror.

Harry reportedly begged his wife to reconsider, saying, “I don’t want to do this alone” when he visited Britain to attend a special Invictus Games service at St Paul’s Cathedral.

“Harry doesn’t want to keep making solo trips to the UK,” the source continued. “He would prefer it if the entire family made regular visits to see his family and build bridges, but there is so much going on behind the scenes that it just isn’t possible at the moment.”

Chris Jackson/Getty Images

Another reason why Meghan avoids any returns to the UK is that she doesn’t want to “be thrown back into an anxiety-fueled visit to England where she feels like she’s not wanted.”

Certain royal experts suggest that Meghan has made quite the u-turn and is said to be “ready to sit down” with the royal family and make things right. However, the reason may not be the one many expect it to be. On the contrary, as per a royal commentator, she might be willing to bury the hatchet for the sake of “selling her jam.”

Royal expert Angela Levin claimed the Duchess is “still genuinely hurt” by how the “royal family treated her.”

“She’s still genuinely hurt by how she was treated by the Royal Family – this is four years on,” Levin told GB News. “And she wants to now at last sit down and talk through things” but she does expect an apology for how she and Harry were treated in the past.

Richard Pohle – WPA Pool/Getty Images

“We know that means she wants the Royal Family, King Charles and everyone else to make an apology, but they don’t,” Levin continued. “The person who should apologise is really her, but they don’t want that.”

“She’s also trying to get Beatrice and Eugenie, who’s on top of her list, to get people to help her sell her jams. And she’s really hoping that King Charles might take one, too,” the royal expert concluded.

“It comes from quite a good source, and that would be her excuse to go there, she wanted to make sure everything was nice, but it’s also a way of selling her products.”
