Ozzy Osbourne says he’s leaving the US for good – ‘I don’t want to die in America’

0

For the last two decades of his life, the Black Sabbath lead vocalist, Ozzy Osbourne, has been living in L.A. However, it seems like he’shad it enough of the States and is now planning on returning to his homeland, England.

Ozzy was born and raised in Birmingham. He and his band, which he was fired from back in 1979 due to alcohol and drug problems, were highly influential on the development of heavy metal music.

Recently, Ozzy’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, spoke of their life in America and said, “It’s a very weird place to live right now.”

During the last couple of years, ‘The Prince of Darkness’ suffered several medical conditions and was forced to undergo several surgeries.

Ever since his quad-bike accident in 2003, everything went downfall for the famous musician. Later, in 2019, he suffered yet another life-threatening fall when he fell in his bathroom and dislodged metal screws in his spine.

“I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, lost my balance, and landed flat on my face,” Ozzy explained.

“When I fell to the ground, I noticed a large white flash and said to myself, ‘you’ve finally accomplished it now.’

“I knew it was serious, and I thought I was paralyzed; thus, I remarked very gently to Sharon, ‘Sharon, I can’t move.’ It appears that I’ve broken my neck. Dial 9-1-1 for an ambulance.”

However, according to Sharon, Ozzy’s decision to return to the UK has nothing to do with his health and his recent Parkinson Disease diagnosis.

“I knew people would think that. It’s not. It’s just time. America has changed so drastically. It isn’t the United States of America at all. Nothing’s united about it,” she said.

Ozzy himself spoke how he feels about America.

“Everything’s f*cking ridiculous there. I’m fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert… It’s f*cking crazy,” he told The Observer.

He’s also fed up with Hollywood’s glam and everything it brings.

“And I don’t want to die in America. I don’t want to be buried in f*cking Forest Lawn,” the memorial park in LA where many celebs are laid to rest.

“I’m English. I want to be back. But saying that, if my wife said we’ve got to go and live in Timbuktu, I’ll go. But, no, it’s just time for me to come home,”he added.

Recently, Ozzy went back home to Birmingham after nearly 10 years where he reunited with Black Sabbath. The group performed at the Commonwealth Games in the city.

Ozzy was approached with an offer to perform several times, but he declined it as he wasn’t feeling confident to be on stage because of his health. However, once he felt fine and performed in July at Comic Con in San Diego, he was given another offer which he accepted.

No matter what he chooses to do, we wish Ozzy and his family only the best.

Jay Leno hospitalized with ‘serious burns’ following gasoline fire at his Los Angeles garage

0

The former The Tonight Show host Jay Leno has been hospitalized following a gasoline fire during which he suffered serious burns. The incident reportedly took place at his Burbank garage over the weekend.

“I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet,” Leno told The Times in a statement Monday.

Leno is a huge classic-car enthusiast known for his extensive car collection. He is reported to have 160 cars and 130 motorcycles in his Burbank garage. At the moment, he hosts the TV series Jay Leno’s Garage, streaming on Peacock.

News of Leno’s accident was first reported by TMZ. According to the magazine, Leno was in the garage Sunday when one of his cars suddenly burst into flames. He was then taken to a burn center where he reportedly remains hospitalized in stable condition.

“His family was not able to provide us very many details, but there was a very serious medical emergency that is preventing Jay from traveling,” an email to attendees of the Financial Brand Forum said after Leno abruptly cancelled his appearance at a conference in Las Vegas on November 13 following the accident. “All we know is that he is alive, so our prayers go out to him and his family tonight.”

When the fans learned their favorite host was being involved in an emergency situation, many speculated it had to do with his high cholesterol, something he struggles with for some time now. He spoke openly about it in the past, referring to the high levels of cholesterol as of “time bomb.”

Besides Jay Leno’s Garage, Leno also hosts the revival of syndicated game show You Bet Your Life. Luckily, the accident will not impact the game show, which has wrapped filming on its second season.

Although his current condition remains unclear, Leno is expected to get back on his feet soon.

Our prayers are with Leno as he recovers from the horrible accident and the injuries he sustained.

At the age of 4, she was dubbed ‘the most beautiful girl in the world’ – This is what she looks at 20 years old

0

Every child is beautiful in their own way, but some possess features so unique that they are easily dubbed most beautiful children in the world. One such child, whose appearance took the world by storm, is a girl named Thylane.

From the moment she was born, this girl attracted the attention of everyone who has ever met her. Her grey eyes and curly hair made many modelling agencies ask to work with her even when she was still just a toddler.

For some women, it takes lots of years of hard work and trying in order to find their place in the modelling industry and be part of the world of fashion shows, but for Thylane, it all came naturally.

But the age of 10, she was already known as the most beautiful child in the world.

She was one of the few children her age who was given the opportunity to pose for Vogue and be on the cover of a number of prestigious magazines.

Back then, her family faced heavy criticism as many believed that Thylane was supposed to be spending her days being around her friends, play outside, and do what most 10-year-olds do, not be constantly dragged to photoshoots, fashion shows, and different fashion events. Her parents didn’t let the mean words affect their parenting.

As Thylane became a nig name in the industry, she decided to try herself as an actress. In fact, it was a number of producers who wanted to work with her that made her go for it.

After appearing in a movie, Thylane turned to the fashion and beauty industry once again.

The young child is now all grown up. Recently, she was spotted with her boyfriend in the south of France. Judging from the photos of their holiday, it’s safe to say they are very much in love.

She was a rock star, and millions of people loved her music

0
Widely known as ‘The Queen of Rock’ and ‘The Queen of Country Rock,’ Linda Ronstadt’s music career marked a whole era. The 70’s are among the rest known for her amazingly powerful voice that placed her on the list of the world’s best female singers of all time.

In a recent interview for the CBS Sunday Morning, this music icon spoke about her life, her biggest accomplishments, and how she learned to live with the progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), which was initially identified as Parkinson’s disease, which was the reason for her retirement in 2009.

PSP is an uncommon brain disorder that causes serious problems with walking, balance and eye movements. The impact on a patient’s voice is perhaps most notable. Sadly, Ronstadt experienced this firsthand. She lost her singing voice as a result of the illness.

She hasn’t been able to sing freely for more than ten years, and while she genuinely misses it, she has discovered a new way to sing, albeit with her mind rather than her voice.

During the interview Linda also spoke about her decision to never get married and her albums that were sold in more than a hundred million records.

For much of her career, Linda practically lived on the road, but these days, her world is a bit smaller, living in a house in San Francisco, located in a quiet street. She shares with Tracy Smith what keeps her busy nowadays.

The interview starts with Linda’s live interview at the United Artists’ Theater in Los Angeles, CA. She shared with the crowd instances of her life and says it felt good being in front of so many people again. Yet, she jokes how she was glad “they didn’t boo or start yelling for ‘Heatwave,” Linda’s hit that reached 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

YouTube

Linda’s career began when she was only 14 years old. She first started performing with her brother Peter and her sister Gretchen as the “Union City Ramblers”, “The Three Ronstadts”, and “The New Union Ramblers.” The siblings treated the world with folk, country, bluegrass, and Mexican music. It wasn’t until she was 18 that she pursued a music career in LA. There, she formed Stone Poneys along with the guitarist-songwriter Kenny Edwards. In just 15 months, they released three albums under Capitol Records. Their hit single, Different Drum, reached number 13 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

In 1969, Linda released her first solo album, Hand Sown…Home Grown. This album saw Ronstadt take a decisive turn away from the folk music of The Stone Poneys toward country and rock. Later, she would produce songs in different genres including country, rock, pop, gospel, r&b, opera, and mariachi.

During the following year, the second album, Silk Purse, saw the light of the day. In 1971, Linda received her first Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Contemporary Vocal Performance for “Long, Long Time.”

YouTube
She ended her career with a handful of awards and nominations from the Grammy Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, Country Music Association, Tony Awards, and Golden Globe Awards.

In 2013 she was given the National Medal of Arts award presented to her by President Barack Obama “for her one of a kind voice and decades of remarkable music.”

Linda’s final concert took place in 2009, several years after she suffered the first symptoms of the disease that would mark the years to come. Recently, the “first true woman rock ‘n’ roll superstar” started appearing at spoken-work events.

YouTube
On Feb. 1st, 2019, Linda released a 1980 live concert that was originally filmed for HBO, Linda Ronstadt: Live In Hollywood. It includes some of her greatest hits of all time.

Below is the interview with Linda. If you want to learn what she is up to these days don’t forget to check it out.

Inside Barbra Streisand’s multi-million-dollar dream home

0

Barbra Streisand is among the few names in the history of entertainment who has been awarded Oscar, Emmy, Golden Globe and Tony awards.

The truth is that no one has ever conquered every area of the entertainment world quite like Streisand has.

She worked as a nightclub singer back in the day until she made her Broadway debut in 1962’s I Can Get It for You Wholesale. Well, as they say, the rest is history.

Her stage performances were so powerful and so well-perceived by wide audiences that Streisand soon turn to music and released chart-topping hits such as “The Way We Were,” “Evergreen” and “Woman in Love.” During the course of her successful career as an entertainer in a number of fields, Streisand’s music records sales exceed 150 million worldwide, making her one of the best-selling recording artists of all time.

She was the youngest artist to ever receive the honor of Grammy for Album of the Year with her first album remaining on the charts for 18 months, and becoming a Top 10-gold record.

Around six years after her Broadway debut, this versatile woman had her film debut starring as Fanny Brice, which turned out to be one of the greatest film debuts in history, with the actress winning an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Streisand actually shared the honor with  Katherine Hepburn for her performance in The Lion in Winter.

“First I was in shock because I think it was her name first, so I thought ‘Okay that’s good, she was wonderful in that movie, Katharine Hepburn’ and then they said my name and I was tongue-tied,” Streisand shared with Variety.

“So I had to take out my gum and put it on the bottom of the chair and think about what the h*ll I was going to say and rushing to the stage, tripping on my long pants, pants that were too long and a top you could see through when the lights are on it, so I was kind of a mess, but it was lovely to receive an Academy Award, I must say.”

Thanks to her fantastic success in the various fields she has built herself a career in, Streisand is said to have made a net worth of around $400 million.

However, she shares lots of it to support different causes she keeps close to her heart.

Streisand has been married twice. Her first husband was actor Elliott Gould, whom she married on September 13, 1963, but divorced in 1971. They had one child, Jason Gould, who appeared as her on-screen son in The Prince of Tides.

Today, the singer is married to actor James Brolin. They have been together for over 30 years and their relationship withstood the test of time, something unlikely for celeb marriages. The couple doesn’t have children together, but they are grandparents to Josh’s kids, Brolin’s son from a previous marriage.

Speaking of her current husband, Streisand recalled meeting him for the first time back in the day.

“I met him at a dinner and expected a bearded mountain-man type, and he had cut off all his hair and was clean-shaven,” she shared with W Magazine.

“I asked him, ‘Who screwed up your hair?’ He later told me that’s when he fell in love with me. My fella likes to hear the truth, which is unusual.

“He’s the yin to my yang. I wanted a companion in my life. My husband and I still have to work at our marriage every day. Relationships are about kindness. You have to constantly watch what you say and how you say it.”

Streisand and her husband live in an out-of-this-world mansion located in Malibu. The garden, the ponds, and generally the surrounding is truly a piece of art.

The singer-actress personal heaven has 10,485-square-foot and includes eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, multiple guest houses, and an incredible ocean view. It consists of a main house, a mill house, a barn – and another building called “Grandma’s.”

Speaking to Architectural Design, Streisand revealed more about her estate and explained how she couldn’t choose between gray and burgundy for the exterior so she had two walls painted in each color. When it comes to the interior, there are two color ranges, black to gray and burgundy to pale rose.

She pays much attention to combination of colors. As reported by the magazine, even the wrappers of Streisand’s candy dishes are color coordinated. “I don’t put a black vase in the gray-and-burgundy room,” she revealed.

One of her guest houses is “decorated in comfy New England style and filled with the figurines and family photos that grandmothers favor.”

However, it’s not that she is the only one making decisions about the look of the estate. Her husband has his own rooms which he decorates according to his wishes. “He has his own rooms that he’s in charge of: his office, his bath, his workshop,” she said.

The lower level of the house is turned into a mall where all of Streisand’s memorabilia is placed.

“Instead of just storing my things in the basement, I can make a street of shops and display them,” the legendary singer told Harper’s Bazaar.

One person’s most painful experience

0

Many times in life we take things for granted. We are simply unaware of how lucky we are until something happens and we realize that we are more fortunate than we even know.

There are people out there who struggle to make ends meets and their every day effort to provide food for their families is a constant struggle.

When we step in for these people, we help make this world a better place.

The following story is heartbreaking and touching at the same time.

Read it below.

I had one of the most agonizing experiences of my life last night. In the grocery where I was, the cheese counter was right next to the candy counter. I was staring at some cheese. I heard this conversation:

“- Please, mama, I will be kind and good. Please!

– That’s it, we don’t have any money! We won’t have enough money for bread if I buy these candies for you.

Instinctively I turned my head.

A basic mom, messy but clean, with a blonde girl with large blue eyes.

“- Please, you said Santa will visit us this year and bring us, sweets.”

I held the cheese in my hand while remaining motionless.

The young child was holding a bag of sweets. I couldn’t believe the things I had heard were real as I was staring at her.

The child left the bag of candies on the shelf and was dragged away by her mother.

I dashed back to the candy stand. The candy bag in the toddler was holding cost $2. I stuffed goodies into the basket and, unavoidably, passed the meat stand on my way to the checkout register. The mom and her child were staring through the goods display window.

“- Eight salami slices!” “Cut them thin, please,” she continued.

My heart stopped beating.

I requested a salami stick and a pig pastrami stick from the other salesperson.

I got to the checkout before they did.

My eyes were welling up with tears.

I waited outside in front of the market for them.

I handed the candy bag to the small girl:

“- Because you were in the store, Santa came over here and handed me this bag.”

The girl looked her mother in the eyes with her large blue eyes. And the woman nodded in agreement.

“- See, mommy, Santa Claus really exists!” she exclaimed.

I couldn’t say anything since it hurt and made me joyful all at the same time.

What made Alan Jackson furious?

0

Having sold 150 million records globally, Alan Jackson is without a doubt one of the most prominent country musicians there are. Known for blending traditional honky-tonk and mainstream country pop sounds, Jackson’s list of awards is so long we stopped counting. Among the rest, he is a recipient of two Grammy Awards, 16 CMA Awards, 17 ACM Awards and nominee of multiple other awards.

In 2001, Jackson was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, while in 2017 and 2018, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame respectively.

Jackson is also a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

10th of November was the date the 56th annual CMA took place during which Jackson was presented with the association’s Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.

The country legend took the stage and had the crowd rise to their feet. Following the performance he said, “Country music’s been really good to me. I fell in love with it when I was a young man.”

However, as everything went exceptionally well, the event planners were a bit concerned if things would go as planned as Jackson left the ceremony in the middle of Beyonce’s performance in the past claiming she wasn’t an appropriate performer for the occasion.

At the time, he spoke of his expectations about the 50th annual gala night and said he hoped country music would be played.

“However, I am aware that the television network is attempting to boost its ratings with whatever they believe will do it, such as a major concert featuring an artist.”

Following Beyonce’s performance, Jackson expressed his hope for “a fantastic country music show for a change.”

Jackson started his career back in the day when he started performing at night clubs and local bars while he worked as a mechanic. Then, he signed with Arista Records in Nashville and released his first record, Here in the Real World, in 1985. Well, the rest is history.

The Georgia native has been married to wife Denise since 1979 and they have three children together.

Recently, Jackson revealed he had been diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a group of disorders that cause nerve damage, which has affected his ability to move and keep balance on stage.

Besides being one of the greatest names in the world of country music, Jackson is also a writer and a businessman who runs many enterprises.
