David McCallum from ‘NCIS’ is a devoted father and grandpa: Meet his children and 8 lookalike grandchildren

0

With a career spanning nearly seven decades, David McCallum has been a fan-favorite of a number of generations. The actor, who is currently best known for the role of quirky Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard in the hit series NCIS, has played a number of iconic characters over the years.

With his parents being professional musicians, his dad, David Sr., worked as an orchestral violinist for the London Philharmonic Orchestra, his mother, Dorothy, as a cellist, everyone assumed McCallum would choose the same career path. Well, it’s not that he didn’t, because besides being a famous name in the film industry, he’s also a musician who released four albums with Capitol Records during the mid 60’s.

Speaking of his love for music, McCallum once said, “I always knew that I could turn to music if I failed as an actor.”

Acting, however, became his passion the moment he stepped on stage for the first time.

“I played The Little Prince in Shakespeare’s King John, at one of those local things where people do skits and songs. Mine was the little prince having his eyes put out by this terrible man, and I acted it, evidently, very well, because I got a standing ovation. I wasn’t more than eight,” he recalled.

“And I said: ‘Hey, hey, hey, this is kinda cool!’ I don’t know if I consciously thought it, but I had found the place I wanted to be: on a stage, with the lights and make-up and the people. I’m exactly the same to this day; the feeling has never left.”

Initially, he attended the Royal Academy of Music in London, England, but left it for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

The Scottish born actor eventually left his home country in order to pursue an acting career in Hollywood. He had his breakthrough with the series The Man From U.N.C.L.E where he played secret agent Illya Kuryakin. For his incredible performance, he was nominated for two Emmy Awards.

Many celebrities guest-starred in the series, and McCallum recalled he was starstruck every time, probably not assuming that others would feel the same way when meeting him later in life. As reported by TV Insider, executive producer Steven D. Binder recalled that when Mark Harmon met McCallum for the first time, he said, “I can’t imagine I’m shaking the hand of Illya Kuryakin,” to what McCallum replied, “Good God, man, that was 40 years ago!’”

During the filming of The Man From U.N.C.L.E, McCallum gathered the attention of many. He was so loved by the audience that it was revealed how he received more fan mail than anyone else in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s history. During a visit to the White House, a Secret Service agent approached McCallum and said, “You’re the reason I got this job.” This speaks a lot of the stir his character caused.

Being such a famous name, it didn’t come as a surprise that he couldn’t go anywhere without being noticed by his fans. This went so far that he needed to be rescued once.

“I was rescued from Central Park by mounted police on one occasion,” he recalled. “When I went to Macy’s department store, the fans caused $25,000 worth of damage, and they had to close Herald Square to get me out of there.”

“That is pretty classic, but you just have to deal with it, he added. “And then whoever was next came along, and you get dropped overnight, which is a relief,” he revealed in an interview with Press & Journal.

Other films McCallum was part of, among the rest, are The Great Escape, Bully Budd, and A Night to Remember.

When it comes to his private life, McCallum has tied the knot twice. He and his second wife, Katherine Carpenter, have been married for 54 years.

The actor experienced heartbreak when his son Jason McCallum tragically passed away in November 1989, aged 27.

“You never come to terms with the death of a child,” McCallum said. “The pain is very real, but it’s like an ache that turns into anger.

“At the same time, there’s a frustration that you couldn’t really have done anything about it, which makes it even worse. In the final analysis, he had the life he had. You just have to accept it.”

He has four more children.

His kids, Sophie, Val, Paul, and Peter, all share photos with their father every now and then. Val is the only one who followed into his father’s footsteps. He works as a studio musician and is the lead guitarist to artist Jackson Browne. Paul works as a photographer, Sophia used to work in real estate, while Peter is an advertising executive.

Besides being a father, McCallum is also a grandfather, and a proud one.

Speaking of his grandchildren, he said in 2016, “They call me grand-daddy. We don’t like grandpa, because it sounds old – and I’m not old. And some of them have the cheek to call me grand-ducky.”

McCallum, who is now 89 years old and still acting, has a net worth of around $15 million.

Shemar Moore to become first time father at 52 years old with his girlfriend

0

Miracles do happen, and in the case of actor Shemar Moore, best known for Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds, and the lead role of Sergeant II Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson on S.W.A.T., one is about to take place on February 8, 2023, when he’s expected to become a dad for the first time at the age of 52.

People first learned of the great news through the trailer of Moore’s appearance on Jennifer Hudson’s show, in an episode expected to air later this month.

Shutterstock

Moore was shown saying, “I’m Shemar Moore, 52 and a half years old. My mother is in heaven, right now it’ll be the three-year anniversary on February 8.” He then continued, “And on February 8, I’m going to make one of her dreams come true because, in real life, Shemar Moore is about to be a daddy.”

Moore’s mother passed away on February 8, 2020, after battling multiple sclerosis for the past couple of years of her life.

Hearing the exciting news, Hudson, who had a huge smile on her face, said, “That is news. And your mama gonna be so proud smiling at you from heaven.”

Moore, visibly excited and happy, added, “I was worried for a while that maybe that ship had sailed kind of thing, and, you know, God had my back and things lined up. …My life is pretty grand but I know once God does call my name, once I get this experience, I’ll be able to go to heaven whole.”

The actor then posted a beautiful video on Instagram of the gender reveal party, surrounded by family and friends, and his beautiful girlfriend Jesiree Dizon by his side.

The video was captioned, “Mama’s smiling from Heaven 🕊️ … Miracles happen … Here comes the BEST part of my life.”

It shows a helicopter flying over and letting out pink smoke, revealing Moore would become a father to a baby girl whom he would name Frankie.

In the past, Moore spoke of the desire to become a father one day. In a 2017 interview to Watch he said, “I want to be a family man. I want to be a father, I want to have a partner in crime, a woman to share [my life] with. I want to continue to evolve, I want to continue to take the next step in my life. In my personal life.”

We are so thrilled to hear the news of Shemar Moore becoming a first-time daddy.

After 27 hours, his wife gave birth to a baby girl, and the man received the news that caused him to fall to his knees

0

In life, it happens that we meet someone and we instantly know that’s the person we would like to spend our eternity with. Not everyone is lucky enough to match with their soulmate during the adventure called life, so when you do, make sure you grab that individual firmly and never let go their side.

Matt and Liz Logelin were school sweethearts who loved and respected each other so much that it made other couples want what these two had.

When speaking of his wife, Matt says:

“She was perfect. She was perfect in every way. She was smart, funny. We had been together 8 years before we actually got married.”

Soon after they got married and wowed to love and to cherish each other forever, they’ve heard the much-anticipated news that Liz was pregnant. Only the thought of welcoming a bundle of joy in their life made these lovebirds the happiest people on Earth.

But then, things started getting a different turn.

Liz was so excited by the fact she was going to be a mother that she started writing a blog where she would share with her family and friends how she felt during each week of her pregnancy. Everything was going smoothly, until she was put on five weeks of bed rest, three of which she spent at a hospital.

In their blog, Matt explains, “Liz had low amniotic fluid. Baby had her cord around her neck. Baby’s heart rate dropped (multiple times). Liz almost delivered (multiple times).”

Despite all the complications, baby Madeline was welcomed into the world. Liz gave birth via cesarean section and according to the doctors she needed to take some rest.

Matt describes the birth to the Rachael Ray Show, saying, “They took Madeline out. They got to show her to Liz for just the briefest of seconds. Because of the c-section they told her she had to stay in bed for around 24 hours.”

He continues, “The next morning the nurses came in, and they said, “Okay, we’re going to take you to go see Madeline.” [Liz] was very excited. They got her up and she started to walk around the room a little bit. Then she just said, ‘I feel light-headed,’ and dropped.”

Then, the most devastating thing happened. Liz passed away before she was given the chance to hold her sweet baby in her hands. Official records stated the reason for Liz’s death was a massive pulmonary embolism.

Her husband explains to the Rachael Ray Show, “She had a blood clot in her leg that traveled up to her lungs and then blocked both passageways in the lungs. It was so massive, it was pretty much instant.”

Matt’s world turned upside down. His beloved wife was no longer there. He was constantly wondering if he would make it through life without her by his side. He knew he had to endure the pain he was feeling and be strong for their sweet baby daughter. He was now a single parent and he didn’t have it easy.

One day, he logged on Liz’s computer and saw her blog. In the next moment he found himself typing and explaining what happened and how he felt. He knew the family would like to know how he was doing and whether he needed help around Madeline.

“I just wanted to give them visual proof that I was succeeding. And that’s how it started.”

Matt’s blog, however, got the attention of other people too and he soon made a network of around 40,000 people who were eagerly waiting for his next writing. Many of the readers offered friendly advice regarding his daughter’s upbringing, as well as support.

He tells the Rachael Ray Show, “I never dreamt that people would actually give me advice or that they would help me through this process… It helps me every day.”

However, Matt decided to stop updating his readers about his life as his last post was published back in 2014.

But as he said on the show, this all eased his days and all the support he received was of great importance for him. This might be a useful way of coping with the grief.

We really hope he was able to proceed with his life and is now doing fine.

With the passing of DJ Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, the world of dance lost a legend.

The saddest part of this loss is the fact that this man who brought laughter and radiated joy wherever he went was suffering in silence and was battling depression. Sadly, not many were aware of his condition as he hid it behind his gorgeously infectious smile.

tWitch’s unrivaled energy and creativity made him a vital part of the dance community and those who knew him will never forget him and his choreography which was known and recognized far and wide.

The famous DJ, who was a staple on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show since 2014 until the show ended, left his young family behind.

He was married to wife Allison Holker with whom he had two children and was a stepfather to her older daughter.

As the family held a private funeral service in Los Angeles on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, Holker paid tribute to her loving husband by posting a touching slideshow with photos of the many beautiful memories they shared together. “To my husband, best friend, babe, Chee-chalker, Superman and father of my children I LOVE YOU FOREVER and ALWAYS!” she wrote. “We will forever remember you as the true beacon of light that you were.”

Rihanna’s song “Lift me Up” played in the background as lovely photos of the couple’s wedding day, romantic shoots, trips, and important events showed the beautiful life they shared together with their children.

The video ended with a black-and-white photo of Boss and the words, “In loving memory of Stephen Lauren Boss.”

“We will continue to cast your light and love throughout the world,” Holker said in her caption. “Thank you for our incredible memories and our beautiful life shared together.”

Kate Middleton declined to spend Christmas at Sandringham

0

The Prince and Princess of Wales might be one of the most powerful couples in the world.

Being future King and Queen, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the private lives of Kate and William are of great interest to the wide public and the media who carefully follow their every move.

Having in mind that people love reading about the members of the Firm, especially following the row between Harry and Meghan and the rest of the royals, this family is often surrounded by rumors.

The love story between William and Kate dates back to the time they were both students at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

Shutterstock/Isaaack

Speaking of the time they first laid eyes on each other, Kate once shared, “I actually went bright red when I met you and scuttled off feeling very shy about meeting you.

“William wasn’t there for quite a bit of the time initially, he wasn’t there from Fresher’s Week, so it did take a bit of time for us to get to know each other.”

As their relationship progressed, they received the entire attention from the media. Kate even made a public appearance with the Royals and attended the Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Military Academy, which William took part in, along with her family.

And as everyone believed a royal marriage was just around the corner, the two split in 2007.

Recalling the time of their break up, both Kate and William claimed it was actually good for them because they got to “find themselves.” Kate even said that “you can get quite consumed by a relationship when you’re younger,” as per The Telegraph.

The two got back together in 2008 and William proposed to Kate in 2010 during a trip to Kenya with his late mother’s engagement ring.

Before the couple announced their engagement, Kate was nicknamed “Waity Katie” and “Lazy Katie.” According to Buckingham Palace officials, it was a reference to the fact that Middleton had recently quit her job to “prepare for her future life.”

Today, Kate is a much loved member of the royal family.

Back in the day, while they were still dating, the Queen made an exception and allowed William to incite Kate to the Christmas celebration. According to royal expert and author Tina Brown, Kate was invited to the Christmas party at Sandringham in 2006, although it’s known that only official members of the royal family are allowed to attend it.

Now everyone would think that she was eager to accept the invitation, but allegedly, Kate said no.

“Before graduation [from The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst], William had issued his girlfriend the coveted invitation to join him at the Queen’s annual Christmas house party at Sandringham,” Tina Brown wrote in the book The Palace Papers.

UK Press Pool/UK Press via Getty Images

“Kate, reflecting the confident mood of her Philip Treacy hat, maintained her resolve that she would not go to such a significant Royal Family gathering unless she had a ring on her finger.”

Brown added: “She declined. William met her decision with silence.”

Instead, then 24-year-old Kate “retreated to Scotland to stay with her parents, who had rented a house in Perthshire for the holidays.”

Fast forward to today, William and Kate spend all their Christmases together.

Adam found dead at 54 years old – rest in peace

0

Child star Adam Rich, who played sweet Nicholas in Eight is Enough and was dubbed America’s Little Brother, was found dead at the age of 54. The cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Rich became widely accepted by the fans who predicted a successful career for the little actor. The truth is that after this show, he didn’t have a breakthrough and quit acting in 2003 after he appeared in front of cameras for one last time in the comedy Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, produced by Adam Sandler.

Eight is Enough portrayed the life of newspaper editor Tom Braden who raised eight children. It involved both comedy and drama and was extremely popular, capturing the attention of millions of fans.

Many of the actors who were part of it found their place under the Hollywood sky, including Mark Hamill who portrayed Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars trilogy, and Ralph Macchio who later became known as the Karate Kid. However, that wasn’t the case with Rich. Over time, he found it harder and harder to get a role and experienced some tough time which forced him into rehab several times.

One of his friends from the showDick Van Patten, who played the patriarch Tom Bradford, bailed Rich out of jail in 1991. after he was charged with shoplifting.

”Adam was wildly popular (on Eight is Enough), … and then he had a lot of trouble getting roles,” Van Patten told UPI. ”‘He’s short, he’s in that awkward stage where he’s not as cute as he used to be, so he’s difficult to cast.’”

Other than Eight is Enough, Rich also starred in The Love BoatFantasy IslandThe Six Million Dollar Man, and in one episode of Baywatch in 1993.

In 1991, he gave interview to Orlando Sentinel and said, “I don’t know why this happened, but I know I am sick. I have a disease. I am very remorseful, very embarrassed about this whole thing. [When] I was 15, I realized I had been working most of my life. I felt like I was almost ready to retire; I was so tired. I began hanging out with the wrong people and I guess it was rebellious, like, ‘Hey, I’m not cute little Nicholas.’”

Old Woman Is Denied Business Class – Then Flight Attendant Discovers Who She Really Is

0

Mrs. Wilson was about to travel by plane for the first time in her life. Being 89, she had mixed feelings about the flight, especially because she encountered several issues along the way.

In order not to lose her home key, she put it in her shoe, and once she was about to go through the gate, the metal detector started beeping. She thought she was in trouble as she had no idea how these things worked. After being asked to empty her pockets, the beeping could be heard again and again. The employees then explained to her that she needed to place away any metal she had, and that’s when she realized it was the key which put her in trouble.

As that was her first time at an airport, which was a huge place, she had no idea where to go and got lost.

Luckily, an employee helped her get to her plane.

As she entered the plane, a young man noticed that she had a business class ticket. He then engaged into a conversation with her and realized that he could switch his economy class seat with hers without she even knowing it. Luckily, Mrs. Wilson knew where her seat was and once she spotted it, she thanked the young man for his help.

Sadly, the person she was supposed to seat next to was an aggressive man who refused to be sitting next to an old lady. He even questioned how she was able to pay for such a seat, as Mrs. Wilson was an ordinary-looking and humble old lady.

Luckily, other passengers stood by her side and told the man that he should be ashamed of how he treated her. He then felt sorry and even helped her collect some of the photos which fell from her luggage.

Looking at one of the photos, he asked whether the little baby was Mrs. Wilson’s son. She said it was, but explained that he was not by her side.

Eager to learn more, the man asked her what happened to her son.

It was then that Mrs. Wilson started telling her life story while many of the passengers leaned forward to hear what she had to say.

She started by explaining that her father worked in the military and was killed during service. She, her mother, and her brother Peter who was mentally disabled, were left all by themselves.

Over time, as she turned 28 years old, Mrs. Wilson, whose first name was Dorothy, met the love of her life, a shepherd named Jack. They were so much in love and were planning to start a family when a tragedy took place.

One day, Peter set the house on fire and in an attempt to save him, Jack entered the burning place. Sadly, they both lost their lives.

Dorothy and her mother were devastated. They grieved for a very long time.

Not being able to cope with the loss, Dorothy’s mother went nuts and started attacking her daughter and blaming her for everything that had happened. In the meantime, shortly after Jack died, Dorothy learned she was pregnant. However, when she gave birth to her son, a baby boy she named Kevin, she was afraid for his life as he mother would often attack her with a knife.

Not knowing what to do, Dorothy thought long and hard and decided to leave Kevin at an orphanage.

A few years later, when her ailing mother passed away, she decided to track Kevin down, but no one wanted to tell her anything about him. She only knew that he got adopted and that was it.

Now, however, many, many years after leaving him, Dorothy learned where her son was thanks to a volunteer organization that specialized in searching for missing relatives.

Her long lost son was the pilot on her flight.

Hearing this story, Kevin the pilot made an announcement through the intercom.

“Dear Passengers, this is your captain speaking. Our flight is coming to an end, but our lives don’t have to end with it. Each of our lives is full of ups and downs, but that’s no reason to believe that some of us are more fortunate than others. We all get opportunities from our birth and our lives depend on how we use them without making mistakes,” he said as everyone was listening very carefully.

“We will not learn the joy of forgiveness therefore we shouldn’t look for the guilty when there aren’t any,” he continued.

Once the plane landed, many of the passengers waited to witness the reunion between these mother and son.

Whoopi Goldberg reveals her three marriages went wrong for one reason

0

Whoopi Goldberg rose to prominence with her role in the iconic movie The Color Purple, and the rest, as they say, is history.

It’s safe to say that she became a huge star almost overnight and captured the attention of millions with this Steven Spielberg’s masterpiece. Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times awarded the film four stars, calling it “the year’s best film” thus referring to Goldberg’s role as “one of the most amazing debut performances in movie history.” Eventually, she became the first Black woman to win all four major North American entertainment awards, Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.

Shutterstock/Ron Adar

Living in a housing project in Manhattan with her mother as a young child, Goldberg knew that comedy was her calling in life. She dropped school and married at the age of around 18 to Alvin Martin, the first of Whoopi’s three husbands, and that many failed marriages. From this union, which didn’t last long, the actress got her daughter Alexandra.

Once she divorced, Goldberg and Alexandra moved places and lived in San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Shutterstock/Featureflash Photo Agency

Her dream of becoming comedian was always there, but she was forced to do other jobs in order to provide for her daughter.

Speaking to Oprah, Goldberg revealed she once worked as a mortuary beautician.

“I did hair and makeup on dead people,” Goldberg said.

“There was an ad in the paper! And I’m a licensed beautician as well, because I went to beauty school.

“It’s a rough gig,” she added. “You have to be a certain kind of person. And you have to love people in order to make them worthy of a great send-off.”

Youtube/gauravsrivastava

At the same time, she did comedy and toured across the US and Europe with her one-woman production, The Spook Show. It was then that she was discovered by legendary director Mike Nichols. He was enchanted with Goldberg’s talent and soon after her show got a Broadway production.

What followed was The Color Purple and then a number of other smash hit films, including Ghost, for which she received an Academy Award, and the everlasting Sister Act, which made her the highest paid actress in history at the time.

Recently, Goldberg was suspended from the award-winning talk show The View for using what the audience considered foul language.

Youtube/Oscars

When it comes to her private life, Goldberg says she is at he best when she’s single because it gives her peace.

Between 1986 and 1988, Goldberg married her second husband, David Claessen, and then in 1994, she tied the knot with Lyle Trachtenberg. None of the marriages lasted long, and the actress believes she is the one to be blamed for that.

Goldberg shared that she has a hard time sharing things with others, which was the case with her ex-husbands.

“Look, people expect you to have a boyfriend. They expect you to get married,” she told the New York Times.

“So I kept trying to do that, but I didn’t want to share information with somebody else. I didn’t want anybody asking me why I was doing what I was doing or to have to make the other person feel better.”

She then added: “But if you’re in a relationship, you have to do those things, and it took me a while to figure out that I didn’t want to.”

Quizzed by Piers Morgan on her former marriages, Goldberg admitted that she had never truly loved her husbands. She told Morgan, “I suppose that, you know, you have to actually be in love with the person that you marry. You have to really be committed to them. And I’m just – I don’t have that commitment.”

She then continued, “And it seemed to me that if I was married, I’d have a… more normal life. But clearly, that’s not the case. There’s not a good reason to get married. You have to actually want a life with someone through ups and downs. And I – I just discovered that wasn’t for me.”

The actress never spoke much of her private life. It was the same when she dated former Bond star Timothy Dalton. The two were considered a high-profile couple and dated for about a year. He even accompanied her to the 1991 Oscars when she took home the Best Supporting Actress award that night for her memorable turn as loony psychic Oda Mae Brown in Ghost. She, however, didn’t mention Dalton in her acceptance speech.

Goldberg also dates fellow co-star Ted Danson with whom she played alongside in the comedy Made in America (1993).

At the time they got involved in a relationship, Goldberg was single, but Danson was married. Once the word of their affair spread around, his then-wife Cassandra Coates kicked him to the curb and divorced him for a hefty $30 million.

Following his divorce, he and Goldberg remained together for some time and were friends for the next 18 months before they stopped being in touch.

Discussing their break-up, she confessed to Closer magazine, “It was really painful, and it was very public. And the loss of his friendship hurts a great deal. We can never go and have a soda, anywhere.” She further said, “I’m friends with almost every man I’ve gone out with, except this man.”

Shutterstock/lev radin

Goldberg says she’s not good at relationships. “I wish I was, but I’m not. I gave my child all the time and money that I had, now I want it for me,” during a 2009 interview with The Guardian.

“The only way I could be married to anyone ever again is if they lived in another country,” Whoopi said. “They could come and visit, it would be like, ‘Oh, my goodness, I haven’t seen you in so long. Come here!’”

Nowadays, Goldberg enjoys her life in the company of her cat, Oliver.

She is accredited as a truly unique and visible talent in Hollywood. We only wish her success in the years to come.
