Missing 16-year-old girl found alive after months– her family thought she ran away but the truth was very different

0

Alinka Castaneda, teenager living in L.A. was reported missing in January and her family has gone through devastation as they hadn’t heard of their loved one in months.

According to police reports, Castaneda was last seen entering an unknown vehicle in the early morning of January 1, on South Carodale Avenue, after she left her family home in Carson, California.

A footage obtained from a nearby doorbell camera showed a man approaching the girl moments before her disappearance.

Initially, the family believed that she might have run away, but as time passed by, they were more certain that it wasn’t the case. Then, they received a phone call from Castadena.

“In this phone call, she actually shared with her sister and her mom that she didn’t know where she was then and wouldn’t be allowed to leave. She sounded like she was under duress and stressing out,” Moses Castillo, a retired detective and a private investigator working on the case, shared with KTLA. Castillo revealed they were dealing with a case of kidnapping and that the suspect was an adult man known to the police. He didn’t reveal any further details at the time.

Castaneda was listed as a “critical missing juvenile,” by the police who asked for the public’s help in locating her and citing “concern for her well-being.”

In order to be able to get the help from the public and anyone who could have certain information about the case, $100,000 had been offered as a reward. Thankfully, this helped the police track down the suspects and take the teen to safety.

After almost three months, Castadena has been reunited with her family.

It remains unknown whether any arrests have been made.

We are glad this teenager is home and safe.

Willie Nelson confirms the reason why he’s still touring at 90 years old

0

Willie Nelson‘s career spans more than six decades and although he will be turning 90 in a matter of days, he doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.

On the contrary, he’s always on tours and still finds the energy to entertain audiences from all over the country and beyond.

Nelson was first introduced to music and instruments when was still very young. In fact, he has written his first song at the age of just 7 and by the age of 13, he performed with Bob Wills, the inventor of Western swing music. He and his sister Bobbie, who plays in his band, were raised by their grandparents, Alfred and Nancy Nelson, who both studied music courses. Nelson picked the guitar and never let it go, not even today.

Over the course of the years, he has won 10 Grammys and received 50 nominations. Among the rest, he earned a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999.

Speaking of his decision to tour at the age of almost 90, Nelson told AARP that it is not necessary for him, but it does him good.

“Working is really good for me, no matter what kind of show it is,” he said.

“The fact that I’ll be there for two days with a lot of my good friends coming out…saying hello and singing with me makes it a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to it.”

Nelson isn’t the first performer who continued entertaining audiences passed the age of retirement. Take Dick Van Dyke (97), Michael Caine (89) and David Attenborough (96) for example.

For these legends, as well as for Nelson, age is just a number. “Norman Lear, a good friend of mine, turned 100 not long ago, and I told him, ‘I’ve been telling everybody it’s just a number,” he told AARP. “Am I right?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, it’s just a number.’”

Whenever he’s tours come to an end, he’s always ready for a new one. “Jokingly, I retire after every tour,” Willie said. “But I’m always ready to go back again. I like the bus. I have everything I need on the bus. I never have to go into a hotel room anywhere. It’s not that bad.”

Nelson’s enthusiasm is unmatched. And when it comes to his voice, it’s still as it used to be, and he hasn’t lost any of his ability to make people happy whenever he performs.

“I think singing is good for my voice,” he said in a recent interview. “I don’t do anything to harm it much anymore. If you don’t use it, you lose it.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger pays emotional tribute to his ‘best friend’ Franco Columbu

0

When Italian bodybuilder and actor Franco Columbu died at hospital in his native Sardinia from the consequences of an accident at sea, his best friend of many years, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, was left utterly heartbroken.

Columbu started his athletic career as a boxer, but then turned to Olympic Weightlifting, powerlifting and later bodybuilding. He was named Mr. Olympia twice, in 1976 and 1981. He and Schwarzenegger first met in Munich in 1965 and competed against each other during several occasions. Despite that, they became best friends and remained close until the very end.

The two appeared together in a number of movies, including The Terminator, The Running Man and Conan the Barbarian.

Following Columbu’s passing, the actor and former governor of California posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, writing that his life was “more fun, more colourful, and more complete” thanks to Columbu.

“From the minute we met in Munich, you were my partner in crime,” Schwarzenegger wrote. “We pushed each other, we competed with each other, and we laughed at every moment along the way.”

The two friends were encouraged to come to America by bodybuilding guru Joe Weider in 1969and from the moment they stepped foot on U.S soil, they were considered one of the strongest men ever.

“I knew I wouldn’t be the same without my best friend, so I asked Joe Weider to bring you to training with me,” Schwarzenegger wrote. “I could live without money or my parents, but not without you.”

Their friendship was truly one of a kind. Columbu was Schwarzenegger’s best man when he tied the knot with Maria Shriver in 1986.

“We did everything together, including the pumps, chess matches, construction work, lunches, practical jokes, and life lessons,” Schwarzenegger added. “We grew together by learning and loving.”

With Columbu’s passing, the world of bodybuilding and weightlifting lost a legend. May he rest in peace.

Twin toddlers drown after grandmother with Alzheimer’s leaves door open – rest in peace

0

Twin toddlers, a boy and a girl, died by drowning after they managed to get out of the house through the door which their great-grandmother who suffers from Alzheimer’s allegedly left open.

When Jenny Callazzo, the mom of the 18-year-old brother and sister, Locklyn and Loreli, found her children in the murky water of the family’s pool of their Oklahoma City home, they were unconscious. Hours later, they were both pronounced dead.

Callazzo is a stay-at-home mother of six children who runs a boutique. Her husband and her grandmother also live in the family home.

Aerial footage of the home showed a pool filled with dark green water, thought to be the result of thick algae. Neighbors recall the harrowing moment they saw the distraught mother at the back of an EMS vehicle as emergency workers tried to revive her children.

A few days before the tragedy took place, the mom posted a photo of the twins playing outside which she captioned, “just want to play outside.”

Currently, the police are investigating the tragic incident, but they exclude any foul play, according to the Daily Mail.

Family members of the Callazzo’s has set up a GoFundMe to help the family with the expenses. “These beautiful babies were taken from us too soon. Anything you can give to help with expenses would be greatly appreciated. We appreciate everyone’s love and support,” it reads.

Experts warn parents of the dangers of having a pool when there are young children in the house. Laura Gamino, injury prevention coordinator for trauma at OU Health says, “Children are attracted to water and toddlers won’t have the skills to be able to help themselves get out of water… Drowning is very sudden, and it’s very silent.

Shutterstock

“Sometimes people have an idea that a child will have trouble in the water and be screaming, but they can’t because their mouth is full of water. So it’s very silent, and that’s one of the scariest things about it.”

She advises moms and dads out there to build at least 4-foot-high fences around their pools with door handles unreachable for children.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving family.

Man decides to take his own life – then he realizes what’s in his dog’s mouth

0

Nothing speaks love and loyalty as dogs. I am convinced that these creatures were sent to us by God, to keep us safe and to make our days a little bit brighter. Those who never owned a dog will never learn what it means to have a best friend for life.

Byron Taylor is a man who has a story to share, and it involves his dog Geo, a 6-year-old Rare Welsh Bull Mastiff. It all started when Byron broke up with his girlfriend. He felt devastated and depressed and found salvation in alcohol. He lost his savings and couldn’t find a reason to move on with his life, so he decided to end it. However, little did he know that Geo wouldn’t let his dad’s plan work.

The moment Geo noticed the noose, he knew something was wrong and rushed to chew on it. The same thing happened a couple of times, and seeing the rope in the dog’s mouth made Byron reconsider his decision to commit suicide. He came to his senses and hugged Geo so tightly that everything started making sense again.

Sadly, shortly after, Geo was diagnosed with an untreatable and inoperable brain tumor. That meant that he hadn’t had much time, so his dad decided to make his last days on Earth the best he ever had. Just two months after the devastating diagnosis, Geo passed away in the comfort of his dad’s arms.

Geo is no longer around, but his dad makes sure the memory of him lives by telling everyone how the loving dog saved his life. This story is a special tribute to an incredible canine who made a change. Rest in peace sweet Geo, you will never be forgotten.

Paul Walker’s daughter is all grown up and honoring her Dad’s life in the best way

0

With the tragic passing of Paul Walker, the star of the Fast and Furious franchise, the world lost a star. He was in the passenger seat of a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, driven by a racing team partner, that slammed into a light pole and burst into flames while filming Fast and Furious 7.

At the time of his sudden death in November of 2013, his only child, daughter Meadow Walker, was 15 years of age, which is a difficult time to lose a parent. And as his fans mourned the loss, they were also worried for Meadow and the challenges which stood on her way as she was suddenly forced to live without her dad.

Until his passing, not many were aware that the then 40-year-old actor had a child because he tried to keep her out of the spotlight, but one thing was certain, he was the kind of dad that every child would wish for, loving, caring, and devoted.

Over the years, Meadow posted about her father, paying tribute to him the best she knew. She often shares photos of him reminding everyone just how much she misses him.

Among the rest, she started a foundation in honor of her dad, the Paul Walker Foundation, using a portion of the money left to her by her father to set it up. She runs the foundation with the help of her godfather and the best friend of her late father, actor Vin Diesel.

Meadow, who is now 24 years old, has established a flourishing career in the modelling industry, even walking the runway for several prominent labels such as Givenchy and Proenza Schouler.

In 2021, Meadow married actor Louis Thornton-Allan and she was walked down the aisle by Vin Diesel, whom she considers family.

“We couldn’t have imagined it to be any more perfect and personal,” she told Vogue of her wedding. “And honestly it was easy and simple. Louis and I knew exactly what we wanted from the start. It was a very intimate celebration.

“We were all barefoot, dancing in the sand. To finish the night, there was a wonderful display of fireworks, and we lit lanterns into the picturesque night sky.”

We are glad Meadow uses every opportunity to honor her father the best she can.
