Since the start of January, the number of people affected by the coronavirus has doubled, urging experts to issue warnings.
According to data released by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), the “positivity rate” increased from 4.2 to 4.5% in the week ending Sunday, April 6, with the number of people testing positive in England rising by 7%.
In comparison, at the start of the year, the positivity rate was 2.2%.
The UK Health Security Agency stated that those who received the vaccine against the coronavirus had a more than 40% lower chance of being hospitalized with COVID-19 that the unvaccinated.
“Seasonal changes and increased indoor social mixing can contribute to the spread, much like we see with other respiratory viruses,” said Dr. Wylie. “Common symptoms include a sore throat, cough, congestion, fatigue, and sometimes a fever or loss of taste or smell, though the latter is less frequent now.”
Around 7.5 million people in England are eligible for the NHS spring booster vaccine, which will be available from April 1 to June 17.
Dr. Wylie has issued an alert to the residents who are most at risk, including the unvaccinated, those with compromised immune system, and those aged 75 and above.

King Charles holds the record of longest-serving monarch-in-waiting in British history, surpassing Edward VII’s record of 59 years. At the same time, he’s the eldest person to be crowned king in Britain.
When he witnessed his mother becoming the head of the monarchy, King Charles was a three-year-old boy. Back then, he was totally unaware that one day he would be the one overtaking the monarchy.
That day arrived with the passing of his mother, late Queen Elizabeth II, who ruled the country for over 70 years. Her reign spanned 14 US presidencies, from Truman to Joe Biden, and met all but one.
Last year, King Charles disclosed with the public his cancer diagnosis, sharing that he’s been receiving treatments in London.

After a short period of being out of the spotlight, he has again returned to his royal duties his wife and his older son performed during his absence from public life.
As the public speculated about his health condition, many raised the question of his possible abdication.
In December of last year, a source close to the monarch told Woman’s Daythat Charles has long ago “came to terms” with the fact that he won’t be ruling the country for many years.
“He’s a lot weaker and tires easily, and doctors are begging him to slow down,” the source said, adding that the monarch contemplates over whether it’s noble or not to abdicate.
“Charles will have been told worst and best-case scenarios in terms of his health, but it’s clear some of his royal priorities have had to be sidelined.”
He and William, however, did discuss the future.

“As devastating as it’s been, he’s had to step away from some of his plans or leave them to William. He has no choice,” the source said. “Cancer has changed him, made him reassess what’s important, and there’s no one he’d rather spend his time with than Camilla. Stepping aside could be what gives him more time with her.”
Royal commentator Sally Bedell Smith told People that King Charles has to “accept limitations” during his cancer treatment.
“Although the King is carrying out his duties with typical determination, he has had to accept limitations during his cancer treatment,” Bedell Smith said. “As a result, William has been taking on more responsibilities, and he and Kate have been preparing for their future roles sooner than they would have expected.”

According to experts, “abdication would be a significant departure from all tradition.”
Hilary Fordwich, a royal expert, argued with Fox News that when the last time a monarch abdicated, Queen Elizabeth II’s uncle, Edward VIII, it triggered “a constitutional crisis.”
British royal broadcaster Jonathan Sacerdoti told Fox that it is “unlikely” that King Charles will step away from his royal duties any more than “strictly necessary.”
“Of course, he is not a youngster, and the example of his late mother’s older years shows that, when needed, the royal family can accommodate sharing the burden, if necessary,” Sacerdoti said. “But just as Queen Elizabeth II continued to work well into her old age, and even when she was not entirely healthy, I am sure that the king will want to do the same and keep going as much as is possible.”

“King Charles will never abdicate through his own volition, especially as he has waited a lifetime to become monarch,” royal expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital.
Over the last few decades, several European countries have seen their monarchs abdicate in favor of the younger generation of royals.
Most recently it was Denmark, when Queen Margrethe II of Denmark became the first Danish monarch to abdicate in more than 900 years. The country celebrated their new head of the monarchy, King Frederik X, in the capital of Copenhagen on Sunday and the Prince and Princess of Wales have closely followed the events unfolding.
Queen Margrethe II of Denmark announced her abdication on TV during her yearly speech on New Year’s Eve. The nation was shocked because no one expected it. She explained that she believed it was time for her son to take her place. Queen Margrethe II, 83, took the throne after her father, King Frederik IX, died in 1972.

Tiffany Trump, 31, who is expecting her first child with husband, Michael Boulos, threw an extravagant Peter Rabbit-themed baby shower during the weekend.
She reportedly announced that the couple is expecting a baby boy.
Tiffany Trump’s pregnancy was revealed in October when her father, businessman-turned-president Donald Trump, shared the news with the crowd at an event at the Detroit Economic Club.
CNN reported at the time that Trump said his daughter was a “very exceptional young woman” before adding that “she’s gonna have a baby. So that’s nice.”
Tiffany’s child would be Trump’s 11th grandchild.
At her baby shower, Tiffany wore a floor-length blue dress with floral embellishments and posed cradling her baby bump.
She captioned the photos: “1 month,” and added a bear and a blue heart emojis.

Michael proposed to Tiffany in 2021 in the White House Rose Garden with a diamond ring that reportedly cost $1.2-million.
“It has been an honor to celebrate many milestones, historic occasions and create memories with my family here at the White House, none more special than my engagement to my amazing fiancé Michael! Feeling blessed and excited for the next chapter!” she wrote on Instagram.
Tiffany also shared photos of the couple’s wedding in November 2022. She wore an Elie Saab gown. The wedding took place at the father’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
Despite not being raised along with the rest of her siblings, Tiffany is said to have a close relationship with the rest of her father’s children, especially Ivanka Trump.

The impact of Trump’s decision to impose enormous tariffs on nearly every country in the world has yet to be felt on the U.S. economy, experts claim.
The president on the other hand dubbed the decision as a “declaration of economic independence.”
He even asked his people to trust his judgement because his politics will ultimately benefit them and will lead to the American industry being reborn.
Critics and experts say the changes to the U.S. trade policy only pushes the country into a trade war with other countries, particularly China.

Kamala Harris, who lost the presidential elections to Trump, made predictions about Trump’s moves regarding the tariffs, claiming his politics would easily lead to a recession by mid-2025.
Now that her predictions seem to be turning into reality, footages of her speeches have resurfaced on the social media.
During the presidential debate in September 2024, Harris laid the bare truth for millions of Americans. “16 Nobel laureates have described his economic plan as something that would increase inflation and by the middle of next year would invite a recession,” she said during the debate. “You just have to look.”
This wasn’t the sole occasion when the Democrat warned of what might happen if Trump wins the elections.

During her appearance on The Howard Stern Show back in November, Harris said, “My plans will strengthen our economy. Donald Trump’s plans would weaken our economy, would inflate inflation, and would bring a recession on by the middle of next year.”
Harris also spoke of Trump’s plan to eliminate the Department of Education, which he did, leading to over 1,300 people to lose their jobs.
Further, Harris claimed that if Trump wins the elections, he would cut Social Security and Medicare, giving tax breaks to big corporations and people with already really high incomes.
According to NBC, “House Republicans can’t meet their own budget target that is necessary to pass President Donald Trump’s legislative agenda without making significant cuts to Medicare or Medicaid.”
Strategist who predicted Trump’s downfall calls his move one of the most ‘ignorant’ in U.S. history
Donald Trump’s return to office for the second time sparked a term that’s been full of nonstop twists and turns. From signing a bunch of executive orders, many of which challenged in court, to sparking major controversies, he’s become a figure you either love or hate. With Trump, there’s no in between, it seems.
Among those who have criticized the work of Trump’s administration is Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville.
Carville stated on several occasions that the current administration “will collapse,” adding later that it has already started happening.
He addressed the rating that he stated showed Trump’s support going from low 50s to upper 30s.

At the time, he stated that this had to do with Trump’s executive orders, as well as the work of the Department of Government Efficiency led by tech-billionaire Elon Musk, most precisely, his recent cost-cutting moves.
During an appearance on The Dan Abrams Show, the strategist said, “It’s collapsing right now. We’re in the midst of a collapse.
“What I have said very publicly is that Democrats need to play possum. This whole thing is collapsing,” he added.

Most recently, Carville “accused” Trump of one of the most ‘ignorant’ acts in US history. He referred to his administration’s decision to impose tariffs on nearly every country in the world.
Trump announced the new round of tariffs, including 125% rate on goods imported from China, dubbing the decision a “Liberation Day.”
Introducing these significant changes to US trade policy, he described his move as a “declaration of economic independence.”
Speaking of the tariffs, Carville wrote in a piece for The New York Times, “In what will certainly be recorded as one of the most ignorant acts of political leadership in American history, the president of the United States has now wilfully damaged the global economy with his tariff chaos.”
REUTERS
“Not only was this an act of economic warfare, it has broken the cardinal rule in American politics: Never destabilize the economy.
“With it, the Trump administration is causing enormous damage to itself – and there can be no more distraction from this naked truth.”
Previously, Trump took to Truth Social to address Carville’s accusations, calling him a “loser” who can’t wrap his head around the president’s supposed “best polling numbers.”

Donald Trump passed an order that required 238 supposed criminals – American immigrants – to be transferred to what is known as the “world’s worst prison” in El Salvador. Among those who were deported was a Maryland father Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia.
He was sent to the Center for Terrorism Confinement (CECOT) in El Salvador by mistake.
As immigration officials admitted making a mistake due to an administrative error. Then, the Supreme Court ruled that Trump’s administration must ‘facilitate’ Garcia’s return to the United States.
US District Judge Paula Xinis said Garcia was seized “without any lawful authority” and held “without legal basis”, in “direct contravention” of US law. She referred to his situation as to a “grievous error” that “shocks the conscience,” BBC reports.

However, to this man’s family’s despair, this seems easier said than done.
Following an alleged meeting between Trump and El Salvador’s leader, Nayib Bukele, it was determined that Garcia’s potential return to US is up to Bukele, who isn’t willing to do such a thing.
“I hope you’re not suggesting that I smuggle a terrorist into the United States. How can I smuggle a terrorist into the United States? Of course I’m not going to do it. The question is preposterous,” the El Salvador leader said.
“We just turned the murder capital of the world to the safest country the western hemisphere. And you want us to go back into the releasing criminals, so we can go back to the murder capital of the world, and that’s not going to happen.”

Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia is indeed an immigrant who came to the States aged 14. However, in 2019, a US immigration judge had granted him legal protection from deportation due to gang threats in his native country.
Ever since his deportation to the “world’s worst prison,” Garcia’s wife, Jennifer Stefania Vasquez Sura, has been vocal of his situation and the injustice that has been done to him and his family.
“I will not stop fighting until I see my husband alive. Kilmar, if you can hear me, stay strong. God hasn’t forgotten about you. Our children are asking when you will come home … they miss their dad so much,” she said.
According to The Telegraph, the US government claimed Garcia is a wife abuser, not an “upstanding Maryland” resident.
the Department of Homeland Security revealed that Garcia was handed a restraining order against his wife Jennifer Vasquez in 2021.
His wife, however, claims that she sought a restraining order out of caution because of a previous violent relationship.
“After surviving domestic violence in a previous relationship, I acted out of caution after a disagreement with Kilmar by seeking a civil protective order in case things escalated,” Vasquez said.

Further, she claimed that things didn’t escalate and they didn’t take the matter to court. On the contrary, following the incident, they marriage only grew stronger.
She added that she wouldn’t stop fighting for her husband’s return to America.

Renowned actor Gene Hackman and his pianist wife Betsy Arakawa were found dead in separate rooms at their Santa Fe property on February 26, 2025.
The couple, who had been married since 1991, died on different dates, according to the autopsy results.
The Academy Awarded actor died of cardiovascular disease, with his Alzheimer’s being a contributing factor, a week after Arakawa’s passing. Authorities believe that Hackman was probably unaware his wife was dead.
Arakawa died of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, a rare disease contracted from infected rodent droppings or saliva.

According to TMZ, dead rodents and their nests were found in “eight detached outbuildings” across Heckman’s property, creating ideal conditions for hantavirus.
There have also been traps around the property, suggesting the couple tried to get rid of the rodents.
Authorities were first alerted that something was wrong with the actor and his wife after the caretaker of their Santa Fe property called 911 and told them they couldn’t enter the house. Also, they said they believed they could see two bodies through the windows.
One of the couple’s dogs, Zinna, was also dead, while the rest of the dogs were alive.

On February 10, two days before it was determined she had passed away, Arakawa Googled “can Covid cause dizziness?” and “flu and nosebleeds.”
The following day, she called a clinic to cancer her appointment saying her husband experienced “flu/cold-like symptoms” but had tested negative for Covid.
She also ordered oxygen canisters for “respiratory support” from Amazon.
On the day she passed, Arakawa made several calls to the Cloudberry Health clinic.

According to the Mirror, Dr Josiah Child, a former emergency care specialist who now runs the clinic, told The Mail, “Mrs Hackman didn’t die on February 11 because she called my clinic on February 12.”
He explained: “She’d called me a couple of weeks before her death to ask about getting an echocardiogram [heart scan] for her husband. She was not a patient of mine, but one of my patients recommended Cloudberry to her. She made an appointment for herself for February 12. It was for something unrelated to anything respiratory.”
She never appeared at the clinic.
Since her passing, three more cases of people dying from the same virus have been reported in California.
“A third case of Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS), each of which has been fatal, is tragic and alarming,” Dr Tom Boo, Mono County Public Health Officer said.
“We don’t have a clear sense of where this young adult may have contracted the virus. The home had no evidence of mouse activity. We observed some mice in the workplace, which is not unusual for indoor spaces this time of year in Mammoth Lakes.
“We haven’t identified any other activities in the weeks before illness that would have increased this person’s exposure to mice or their droppings. We’ve been aware of this suspected case for some weeks, but it has taken time to obtain testing.”
Dr Boo added: “The occurrence of three cases in a short period has me worried, especially this early in the year. Historically, we tend to see Hantavirus cases later in the spring and in the summer. We’ve now gone about a month without any additional suspect cases, but remain concerned about the increase in activity.”

Baby Elizah Renee Lynn Turner, 7-month-old, suffered a horrific death after being mauled by the family pit bull.
Her mother, Mackenzie Copley, spoke of the tragic loss, saying she’s “lost and heartbroken.”
Copley and her husband, Kameron Turner, had three pit bulls in the house. Following the incident, the dogs were taken away by Franklin Animal Control.
The attack, which took place on April 9, during which the baby was mauled by the pit bull has been investigated by the authorities.
As of now, no charges have been pressed against the parents who claim the bond between their dogs and their late daughter had been a sweet one, questioning how such an attack could have happened.
Copley took to Facebook to share her heartbreak regarding the loss of her baby girl.
“I will never understand why!!!” she wrote on Facebook Saturday, posting pictures of baby Elizah and the family’s pit bulls.
“I am so lost and broken. This was the same dog who was side by side with my baby every single day,” she added.

Her obituary read that “Elizah’s face would light up the room and her laugh was contagious.”
“Lizah was spunky, happy, loved watching miss Rachel and she was never without a smile. She brought light to everyone’s life, healed her family’s hearts and gave them all purpose.
“Her favorite times were spent laughing with mom and dad. Her nickname ‘Kickin Wing’ was given to her by her grandpa. Every time someone new walked into the room her legs started kicking away because of how excited she was to see you.”

“There is really not a lot of words I can say to convey how I feel,” Columbus Police Sgt. James Fuqua told WBNS, as reported by the New York Post.
“Everyone in this process is literally grieving as if this child belonged to us, because most of us are parents and can’t imagine just how this scene is,” he added.
