Jane Fonda confirms she hasn’t got much longer left after cancer diagnosis but is ‘not afraid of death’

Recently, actress Jane Fonda spoke of her health and revealed to her fans that she’s been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of cancer that begins in the lymphatic system, which is part of the body’s germ-fighting immune system. At the time, she revealed that she had undergone chemo treatments and was doing fine.

“Cancer is a teacher and I’m paying attention to the lessons it holds for me,” she wrote. “One thing it’s shown me already is the importance of community. Of growing and deepening one’s community so that we are not alone. And the cancer, along with my age – almost 85 – definitely teaches the importance of adapting to new realities.”

As this is the third time the A-list actress battles this horrific disease, she admitted in a recent interview how she feels as though she hasn’t got long left to live.

She admitted that she’s “not afraid of death” but knows she’ll be gone “sooner rather than later.”

Fonda spoke of her condition to Entertainment Tonight and stated, “I’m not going to be around for much longer.

“When you get to be my age, you better be aware of the amount of time that is behind you, as opposed to in front of you. I mean, that’s just realistic.”

Being a celebrity, Fonda is convinced she needs to be the one to raise awareness and speak openly of her battle as it will help others with their battles too.

“We also need to be talking much more not just about cures but about causes so we can eliminate them. For example, people need to know that fossil fuels cause cancer. So do pesticides, many of which are fossil fuel-based, like mine.

“Believe me, I will not let any of this interfere with my climate activism,” Fonda added.

Not many actresses can say they’ve reached the fame Jane Fonda has. Being 84 years old, she is still very active and inspires many young women who dream of following into her footsteps and making a name for themselves in the industry of film.

One might say that having Henry Fonda as a father, Jane had it easy, but the reality is that this incredible actress reached her celeb status thanks to her hard work and her undeniable talent.

After three marriages, and quite a few relationships, Jane is now single.

Fonda is a role model to millions.

Among the many causes Fonda has been involved in throughout the years is her fight against the climate change. For that purpose, she moved to Washington and launched Fire Drill Fridays, together with Greenpeace. Although she has been arrested numerous times for being involved in protests, she says she won’t stop.

In 2010, Fonda was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in 2018, she had a growth removed from her lips.

We truly hope she would be able to win this battle.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Fonda.
