When Carter and Conner Mirabal were born, they were conjoined at the torso. Their story gathered the attention of many people from all around the world when a decision was made for them to be separated by a complex surgery. So, when they reached five months, doctors believed the boys were ready to be separated.

They shared a liver and intestinal tract, so the operation was dubbed a “miracle surgery” by the doctors and everyone who was following their story from the media.

Thankfully, the 12-hour-long surgery was a huge success. However, the boys were forced to spend most of the first year of their lives at the hospital. They had to undergo further surgeries and treatments, but at the end it was all worth it.

Now, the beautiful brothers reached a very special milestone. They graduated pre-school, something their parents didn’t believe would be possible when they were born.
