Dad has a heartwarming message for the man who made his daughter’s waiting time at the airport fun

Although many of us believed how the new century and the fact that people are slowly but surely becoming open-minded of the new and unconventional things that surround them will bring a change in the way we perceive relations between humans, it’s sad how segregation is still present in modern countries like the United States. No matter how much some of us refuse to admit it, the issue of racial, age, or gender discrimination is there, and it’s real, and it’s up to us whether we’ll continue nurture those feelings of hatred or we’ll teach our kids that no matter how “different” we are, we are all the same.

An interesting encounter that took place at the airport while Kevin Armentrout and his family were waiting to board their flight is enough evidence that we can make things right only if we really give it a try. We can’t help but say how this guy does parenting right.

As people were trying to kill time using their phones or reading books, Kevin’s daughter was having fun running around the place and saying “hi” to random strangers. Needless to say, she managed to put a smile on everyone’s face.

But then, she noticed one guy who caught her interest, so the little girl simply approached and took a seat right next to him.

The man was glad he could make the girl’s waiting time more enjoyable by offering her his tablet and teaching her how to draw on it.

The two strangers spent around 45 minutes together, watching cartoons and laughing. Kevin had his eyes on his daughter all the time but he didn’t want to interrupt the two newly made friends. This father’s heart melted when he noticed his daughter offering the stranger, whose name was Joseph, her snacks.

Kevin later decided to share the story of the lovely encounter on his Facebook page, writing:

Watching them in that moment, I couldn’t help but think, different genders, different races, different generations, and the best of friends. This is the world I want for her.

If every parent out there wants a world for their kids as the one Kevin wants for his daughter, we’ll make the one we all share a much happier place. On the other hand, being kind to little kids will teach them how they should treat others with kindness too.

After Kevin posted the photo of the two friends having fun together, many people reached to him and told him how they knew Joseph and how he is one of the most generous and friendliest people they know. No one was surprised how he took the time to entertain the little girl because that’s what he does, makes people happy.

Kevin ended his post saying:

In a country that is continuously fed that it’s so deeply divided by beliefs, I want her life to be filled with moments like this… not liberal or conservative republican or democrat, socialist or capitalist, just HUMAN.

It’s truly amazing how friendship knows no boundaries.
