Christina Applegate makes ‘last’ Red Carpet appearance

Being born in the heart of the city which is the center of the film industry, and with her dad being a record producer and record company executive and her mom being an actress, it seemed like it was written in the stars for Christina Applegate to become one herself.

She had her first TV appearance when she was just a year old. Along with her mom, she appeared in the soap opera Days of Our Lives. As years went by, Christina’s career took off and she became one of the most famous names in the industry.

Among the rest, she starred in Grace Kelly and Married … with Children. The latter was her big breakthrough after which she moved on to a number of other projects.

It has been said that she auditioned for the iconic role of Rose in Titanic but lost to Kate Winslet.

One of her most recent roles is the one in Dead to Me, series which aired in 2019.

Christina was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2008 and underwent a double mastectomy. Some ten years after the procedure, in an interview for USA Today, she revealed she was still facing body image issues.

In August 2022, The Sweetest Thing star revealed that she had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), an autoimmune chronic disease of the central nervous system which disrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body, as well as within the brain.

There is currently no cure for it, but the symptoms could be managed with proper treatment. For people with MS, average life expectancy is slightly reduced.

When Christina first spoke of her diagnosis, she described the experience as a ‘strange journey’ and a ‘tough road.’ She added that she received support from people she knows who also have the condition.

At the SAG Awards SAG Awards on Sunday, February 26, the actress walked the red carpet together with her daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble. Christina hinted that this ceremony could be her last public appearance. The 51-year-old actress wore a tuxedo gown made of velvet that reached the floor and had a cane carved with the initials “FU MS.” Sadie Grace wore a long, double-breasted black blazer layered over a black button down shirt which she paired with matching trousers, a baker boy hat, and classic combat boots.

Due to the medications she takes in order to keep her condition under control, Christina gained around 40 pounds.

In a December online interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Christina explained how music helped her deal with the trauma and the stress, adding that creating art allowed her to put her focus elsewhere.

We wish Christina Applegate only the best.
