Back in the day when Bruce Willis and Demi Moore were a thing, all eyes were on them. They were considered one of Hollywood’s most powerful couples and even after their divorce, which took place four years after welcoming their third daughter together, they remained very close friends.
Even today, they never leave each other’s side, although they moved on and married other people. Today, the Die Hard star is married to wife Emma Hemming, with whom he has children, but Moore still spends a bunch of time with Willis, especially after the devastating diagnosis he received some months ago.
Willis’s family announced that he stepped away from the acting career that meant so much to him following the aphasia diagnosis, a condition which affects one’s ability to communicate.
The statement read, “To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities.”
People close to the family say that they all hope to get as much time with the Pulp Fiction star as they can as his health is deteriorating, according to sources close to the family who also claimed that “Bruce can’t say much, and it doesn’t appear like he understands much of what people say,” so Emma serves as his spokesperson and communicator.
While their girls were growing up, Willis and Moore did their best to keep them out of the spotlight.
Rumer, the couple’s eldest daughter, once opened about that and said she has been thankful for the protection her parents offered over the years.
“I think at that time I didn’t have as much of an understanding of the public side of it to have that affect me as much,” she told Larry King as an adult.
“I’m so thankful and grateful that my parents made such an effort at that time. They always made an effort to do all of the family events still together and made such an effort to still have our family be as one unit, as opposed to two separate things, which I think really made an impact.”
However, being a daughter of two celebs like Willis and Moore, Rumer became a victim of online bulling by the famous blogger Perez Hilton. He later apologized for his behavior.
“They said I had a huge jaw. They said I had a ′potato head,’” Rumer recalled. “When you’re 14 or 15, I didn’t really understand having value in myself yet. My mind went to, ‘OK, so if I get skinny or if I dress the right way or present myself very hyper-sexually and dress this way, then I’ll be valued.’”
Now, Rumer shared some exciting news that brought positivity in the family especially after Bruce Willis’ diagnosis which left everyone devastated.
Rumer and her boyfriend, Derek Richard Thomas, announced they are expecting their first child, which means that Willis and Moore would become grandparents for the first time.
They shared the exciting news with a photo of Rumer’s bump which her loved one kisses.
Moore reacted to the news by posting on Instagram herself. She wrote, “Entering my hot kooky unhinged grandma era.”
We are so happy for the family.
