Wilson comes to Hollywood from Australia. While she was at college, she got a scholarship through Nicole Kidman’s organization which helps young actors and actresses pursue their dreams and that’s when her journey to the States and to the hearts of millions of fans started.
The Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect star has landed a number of roles where she played an overweight young lady. It’s not that she didn’t like that, but according to her, people, as well as producers, didn’t take her seriously so she decided to make a huge change and that started with her health. Wilson declared 2020, one of the toughest years for the humanity, her “Year of Health.”
“I literally feel as if I have to physically transform myself, because for some reason, even though we’re in a very imaginative industry, it’s very difficult for people to imagine me as a serious actress and I feel that I physically have to show you that I am different,” she told The Telegraph.
Her inspirational weight loss journey started in January of last year, and today, a year later, she looks incredibly hot. Her dedication and strong will helped Wilson complete her own goal and reach a target weight of 165 pounds.
She followed a restrictive program called the Mayr Method and visited physician Franz Xaver Mayr, M.D.’s clinic and wellness center in Austria before she started her diet. On top of this, Wilson works out regularly.
In October of 2020, she posted a photo on Instagram eating pastry in Monaco and wrote: “Remember though girls, you still gotta treat yourself. I just do it with food now only once or twice a week and substitute bubble baths on alternate nights.”
Her story of dedication, hard work, and not giving up serves as an inspiration to a huge number of women from every part of the world.
“What I was trying to do is change those habits so that you’re more loving and you’re treating yourself with more respect,” she told Prevention. “I’m working on self-love, and that’s a hard concept to master. To foster self-love.
“I like to end in gratitude and write down what I’m blessed about. Even if it’s something very small … that’s amazing.”
