If you have visited a zoo, which is very likely you have, you have certainly noticed all the signs which remind visitors not to feed animals and not get close to them. This is done for both the sake of the people and the animals.
Sadly, accidents happen, and sometimes people put themselves in dangerous situations on purpose which is sadly the case with a teacher who was left in despair after she failed finding a job for some time.

Namely, while at the Berlin Zoo, the woman jumped inside the enclosure of the polar bears. In order to do so, she had to climb over a fence, a line of hedges, and a wall. What’s most, she jumped inside the caged area while the bears were being fed.
As expected, a polar bear that spotted her was quick to attack her, leaving her with serious injuries and wounds from the strong bites she sustained.
Luckily, one of the employees at the Zoo was able to scare the bear off and save Mandy.

She was severely injured on her arm, her leg, and her back.
Witnesses, including families with young children, were horrified by the unfolding scene, convinced they were seconds away from witnessing a tragic mauling.
Following the incident, reports emerged highlighting the woman’s recent personal challenges, including unemployment and a breakup, which likely contributed to her unorthodox behavior. A number of people who saw videos of the incident dubbed her behavior a cry for help. What’s more, the event ignited conversations about whether zoos are secure enough and what drives a person to risk their life this way. Still, Berlin Zoo officials said they wouldn’t change security policies because those who are determined will always find a breach.
