Dogs are the best, and everyone who has ever owned one can tell you that. Well, the coronavirus restrictions and the lock-down made many people realize that a dog is exactly what they need in order to help themselves cope with the pandemic and staying home most of the time. For that reason, the demand for sweet canines from shelters grew and many four-legged creatures found their forever homes during one of the toughest years for the humanity.

Among those who adopted a furry pal is a couple from Chicago, Illinois. They welcomed a cute Golden Retriever whom they named Arthur.

When the pup was getting to his new home, he was spotted by one of the neighbors, a boy named Troy who fell in love with Arthur right away. And just a couple of days later, the family received a hand-written note full of love which led to a new friendship millions learned of.

The letter said: “Hello neighbors. My name is Troy. I’m in 4th grade and I’m just wondering if maybe after this virus you need a dog sitter and if so I can take your dog on walks and more.”

Arthur’s humans were delighted. They were more than happy to let Troy play with their dog once things get better. In the meantime, they shared the letter online and even organized an online play-date for the newly-made friends.

Everyone who has seen the letter could be kept updated from the Instagram account @arthurthefloof  created on the behalf of Arthur who already has over 40,000 followers.

“Just a quick pupdate – me and the smol neighbor had a really great (socially distant) playdate today. Because he’s so smol we didn’t take any pics just for privacy purposes but he told me all about his dog fren and even showed me some dance moves!! I have a feeling we’re gonna be best buds!” one of the pup’s Instagram-post reads.

We are sure that Arthur and Troy will become best of friends and will have a lovely time together in the days and years to come.
