The reason why Melania Trump’s inauguration outfit feels so familiar

Donald Trump sworn in as the 47th president of the United States of America, and his beloved wife, Melania Trump, stood beside him, wearing an outfit that people say felt familiar.

The former model opted for a custom double-breasted navy coat by Adam Lippes that she paired with a matching boater hat by Eric Javits, designed especially for the occasion.

Melania’s bold outfit made many question if she was trying to send a message -that she’s not someone you can mess with- on the historic day when her husband sworn in as a president for the second time.

“Makes her look hard. But maybe that’s what she wants to look like today, all business. Don’t mess with me kind of thing,” one person commented.

As always, Melania’s choice of outfit caused quite a stir. While some loved it, others mocked it, but one thing is certain, all eyes were on her at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Lafayette Square, Washington D.C. on her husband’s inauguration.

Sharing their thoughts on the social media, an X user wrote: “I don’t like the hat. You don’t wear a hat in a church. I’m old fashioned.”

However, there were those who praised the First Lady’s fashion statement.

“Melania’s hat! [fire emoji],” one wrote.

“That hat!” exclaimed another, while a third person beamed: “Love Melania’s hat! Why can’t we all wear hats & gloves again? So stylish.”

“Melania’s 1920s style Gatsby hat is smoke show,” someone else commented.

Some mentioned that he outfit looked kind of familiar, comparing it to Beyoncé’s iconic ‘Formation’ outfit, writing that the First Lady is in ‘her Lemonade era,’ referencing to the singer’s album name.

“Ok ladies now let’s get in formation,” someone else commented, quoting one of the song’s lyrics, while a third added: “YALL HATERS CORNY WITH THAT ILLUMINATI MESS.”

“Not Melania gettin into formation,” and “Ok Melania about to get in formation,” were other of the comments regarding Mrs. Trump’s outfit.

Speaking to Fox of her role as a First Lady, Melania said, “I feel I was always me the first time as well, I just feel that people didn’t accept me maybe.

“Maybe some people, they see me as just a wife of the president, but I’m standing on my own two feet, independent. I have my own thoughts.

“I have my own yes and no. I don’t always agree with what my husband is saying or doing. And that’s OK.”

She said that her priority is to be a mom, a First Lady, and a wife. “And once we are in on Jan. 20, you serve the country,” she added.
