Little girl walks into police dog auction alone — what followed brought everyone to tears

When Lily Parker got to the Willow Creek county fair, she felt completely lost. In her tiny hand, she had all her saving — $52.16. She had no idea if that money would be enough for her dream of getting one special German Shepherd who was about to be sold at the auction.

The truth was that the dog wasn’t an ordinary one, it was a K9 that worked alongside the girl’s late mother, Officer Hannah Parker, who was killed in the line of duty some months prior.

That German Shepherd, Max, meant the world to little Lily because he was someone who had known her late mother all too well, and there was no one who would take greater care of him than Lily herself.

Sadly, the bids climbed past $3,000, which was well above what Lily had in her jar. Still, she decided to place a bid, even as those around her chuckled. The auctioneer looked at her and said, “Girl, this isn’t enough, and you know it.” The truth was, no one knew how much Max meant to Lily. To everyone else, he was just another dog—but to her, he was a memory of her mother that she desperately wanted to hold on to.

As Lily lost hope of ever having her late mom’s dog by her side, Max spotted her and started barking. At one point, he managed to break loose and ran straight to her. At that moment, all eyes were on Max and Lily. It was obvious the two knew each other since their connection was undeniable.

Lily started crying tears of joy, and once everyone in the room learned the story about Max and Officer Hannah, they all agreed to withdraw their bids, allowing Lily to take Max home, the only place where he truly belonged.

That evening, Max’s excitement turned into unease. He acted as though there was something he wanted Lily and her dad to notice. They watched him pace back and forth by the door, his ears perked.

“What has gotten into him?” Lily’s dad asked. “I don’t know, dad.”

When they opened the door, Max ran straight towards the garden shed and started scratching at the door until Lily’s dad opened it. Inside, they found a stack of papers scattered across the floor — documents, photos, and notes Hannah had been collecting. Those were evidence for a case she had been working on. It involved names of people Lily’s dad had never heard of.

In the morning, he gathered all those papers and took them to the police station.

The case of Officer Hanna’s death was reopened. With the new evidence in hand, the police began a fresh investigation, uncovering leads that had long been ignored. Officer Hannah’s death wasn’t just a random act of violence, and the police was about to prove that.

Lily and Max’s story is one of devotion, loyalty, and hope.

Shocking claims from Area 51: Man’s DNA ‘permanently altered’ and others killed by ‘invisible enemy’

US Air Force veterans working at Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR), known as the secretive Area 51, revealed shocking details about members of the staff dying and suffering from the same deadly illness after being exposed to radiation during “top secret” projects.

Area 51 has been the subject of numerous speculations over the years, with people reporting seeing aliens and UFOs next to the site that has been closed for years. There have also been conspiracy theories about alien equipment being kept there.

Former Air Force Sergeant David Crete, who worked at the base between 1983 and 1987, claims an “invisible enemy” was responsible for the deaths of more than 490 people at Area 51. He and other former colleagues of his believe the government handed them a death sentence without their knowledge by letting them work in an area contaminated with radiation from years of nuclear testing.

Crete opened up about his health during testimony before the House Veterans Affairs Committee in April, stating that the toll on both his own health and that of his colleagues has been devastating.

“I have brain atrophy. The left side of my brain is shrinking and dying. That’s not too bad. I’m one of the healthy ones,” he said.

Crete added that his time at the base ‘permanently altered’ his DNA.

“My wife had three miscarriages. One of the guys that I worked with, his wife had seven. All four of my children were born with birth defects or significant health problems.

“It’s not their fault. I’m not saying it’s mine, but I brought it home. It was my DNA that was permanently altered from low-dose, long-term, ionizing radiation exposure.”

Despite concerns about radiation risks at the NTTR, a government report stated that halting the projects would “be against the national interests.”

Veterans, however, have no proof of the exposure to radiation because of the classified nature of their missions. Since their records have been “data masked,” the bill signed in 2000 by then-President Bill Clinton providing benefits and medical help to workers exposed to radiation and toxins at federal facilities doesn’t apply to them.

Crete, along with other veterans, ask the same healthcare rules to apply to those who worked at Area 51.

Two bills — the Protect Act and the Forgotten Veterans Act — have been introduced in Congress to provide more support to NTTR veterans.

According to Crete, the only acknowledgment for their service came from the late US Senator John McCain who was allegedly aware of what was truly happening at NTTR. “He came up to me and he said, ‘Your unit ended the Cold War.’ If you ever wanted validation that what you did was important, that’s just about it,” Crete recalled.

Ozzy Osbourne dies aged 76 just weeks after farewell show

Ozzy Osbourne, the frontman of heavy metal band Black Sabbath, has died in the UK at the age of 76. His family confirmed his sudden passing in a statement in which they said, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”

Wikipedia

Less than three weeks ago, ‘The Prince of Darkness’ reunited with his original Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for the first time since 2005 for a farewell concert in his home city of Birmingham. He performed from a throne on stage at Villa Park.

“You’ve no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Ozzy told the crowd at what would be his last-ever performance.

Black Sabbath posted a photo of Osbourne from the gig with the caption: “Ozzy Forever!”

Ronnie Wood, of The Rolling Stones, wrote: “I am so very sad to hear of the death of Ozzy Osbourne. What a lovely goodbye concert he had at Back To The Beginning in Birmingham.”

Sir Elton John described his “dear friend” as a “huge trailblazer” who “secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods. He was also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love. Elton xx.”

Musician Gene Simmons added: “Sad to report Ozzy has passed away. He was a giant. Admired and loved by millions of fans worldwide. Prayers and condolences go out to the Osbourne family.”

Queen’s Brian May, Metallica, and Yungblud were among those who paid their tributes to the iconic musician.

During the last couple of years of his life, Ozzy suffered several medical conditions and was forced to undergo several surgeries. Ever since his quad-bike accident in 2003, everything went downfall for him. Later, in 2019, he suffered yet another life-threatening fall when he fell in his bathroom and dislodged metal screws in his spine. 2020 was the year when the musician was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and that only added to the health issues he experienced.

Despite his health struggles, Ozzy remained as energetic as ever.

Ozzy was born John Michael Osbourne on 3 December 1948 in Aston, Birmingham.

He and his band, which he was fired from back in 1979 due to alcohol and drug problems, were highly influential on the development of heavy metal music.

Ozzy was honored with inductions into both the UK and US Rock and Roll Halls of Fame, for his work with Black Sabbath and as a solo artist. He also earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and another on Birmingham’s Broad Street, received an Ivor Novello Award, and won five Grammy Awards from 12 nominations.

Rest in peace, Ozzy Osbourne.

Trump under fire for posting fake AI video of Obama being arrested

Donald Trump received backlash after posting an AI generated video of Former President Barack Obama being arrested by FBI agents inside the Oval Office.

The controversial clip that he shared on Truth Social showing Obama in handcuffs didn’t come with any disclaimer that it’s artificial or fictional. It was captioned “No one is above the law,” with The Village People’s Y.M.C.A. — which Trump often uses during his rallies —playing in the background.

Before the arrest happens, Obama is seen sitting opposite Trump in the Oval Office — a footage from November 2016 when the Trump was president-elect and Obama about to leave office.

The clip then shows Obama in a federal prison.

Trump’s move came shortly after Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence, claimed Obama officials “manufactured intelligence” that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election. She announced she would be turning over evidence to the Justice Department for possible criminal referrals.

“Their goal was to subvert the will of the American people and enact what was essentially a years-long coup with the objective of trying to usurp the President from fulfilling the mandate bestowed upon him by the American people,” Gabbard said.

“Their egregious abuse of power and blatant rejection of our Constitution threatens the very foundation and integrity of our democratic republic,” Gabbard said in a statement accompanying the document release.

“No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, to ensure nothing like this ever happens again.”

Mark Warner, Senator of Virginia and a ranking member on the Senate Intelligence Committee, dubbed Gabbard’s accusations “one more example of the director of national intelligence trying to cook the books.”

This isn’t the first time the president has shared videos made using artificial intelligence. Many are convinced this last one involving Obama is just an attempt to shift the focus away from his past relationship with Epstein, the disgraced billionaire who killed himself while awaiting trial in federal prison.

Woman claims she met Trump in Epstein’s office as she details ‘troubling encounter’ with president

Maria Farmer, an artist who accused disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his longtime partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, of sexual assault, recalled meeting Donald Trump in the 90’s in Epstein’s New York office, The New Yor Times reported. She described the meeting as a “troubling encounter” during which Trump “started to hover over her.”

She said that “she recalled feeling scared as Mr. Trump stared at her bare legs,” the newspaper reported. “Then Mr. Epstein entered the room, and she recalled him saying to Mr. Trump: ‘No, no. She’s not here for you.’”

As the two men left the office, Farmer overheard Trump saying how he believed she was 16 years old.

Farmer and her sister Annie who testified at Ghislaine Maxwell’s 2021 sex trafficking trial urged the FBI twice before to look into people in Epstein’s social circle, including Donald Trump. According to Farmer, she brought up the requests both in 1996 and in 2006, when the FBI interviewed her again. She expressed concerns about the disgraced billionaire’s interest in girls and young women while rubbing shoulders with powerful individuals such as Trump and Bill Clinton.

The White House disputed Farmer’s words, with communications director Steven Cheung claiming that “The president was never in [Epstein’s] office” and that “The fact is that the president kicked him out of his club for being a creep.”

Jeffrey Epstein/ New York State Sex Offender Registry

Trump has been under scrutiny over his friendship with Epstein and Farmer’s claims only made things worse for him, especially now that the FBI and DOJ refuse to release all files on Epstein who died of suicide in his New York cell in 2019 while awaiting trial.

They also denied the existence of a “client list,” which allegedly contained the names of mainly influential individuals who used Epstein’s services.

Trump has ordered the justice department to release all grand jury testimony in the late financier’s case, but that’s not likely to happen.

NBC News

While the president agreed to release parts of the grand jury testimony last week, experts warn that it probably won’t meet the public’s demand for more information about the true extent of Epstein’s crimes and all the people involved with him.

With Farmer’s resurfaced testimony about meeting Trump, the public is now even more eager to understand the extent of Trump’s association with Epstein whom he distanced from after years of friendship.

Pregnant woman among at least five dead in Indonesian ferry fire

At least five people, including a pregnant woman, died after a ferry carrying over 280 passengers caught fire near North Sulawesi, Indonesia, on Sunday.

When the tragedy struck, the ferry, KM Barcelona VA, was traveling from Talaud, an island district in the province, to Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi province.

According to reports, the vessel got engulfed in flames around 12.00 pm (local time), causing panic at the passengers who were spotted jumping overboard into choppy waters. Most of them wore bright orange life jackets.

facebook.com/bakasangbusu14

Commander of the Indonesian Fleet Command Denih Hendrata said 284 passengers and crew members have been evacuated so far, with three navy ships deployed to assist. He added that they also received help from the local fishermen.

Among those who lost their lives was a pregnant woman, Nuriadin Gumeleng, public relations officer for the Manado SAR Office, told local news site Harian Jogja. “Currently, only one person has been identified as having died, a pregnant woman. Her body is now on land.”

Facebook

The exact number of people on the ferry is still unknown as it is not uncommon for the number of passengers on a boat or ferry to differ from the manifest in Indonesia. These discrepancies may indicate overcrowding, making rescue efforts more challenging, says navy First Adm. Franky Pasuna Sihombing.

Although the ferry’s manifest reported only 280 passengers and 15 crew members on board, authorities confirmed by Monday afternoon that 575 individuals had been rescued. Among them was a 2-month-old baby whose condition is now stable after inhaling seawater.

In a chilling broadcast uploaded to Facebook, a passenger named Abdul Rahmad Agu could be heard pleading, “We are burning at sea… we need help… fast…” Later, he spoke to the media and said, “Almost everyone panicked, the smoke was thick from the back of the boat, then the fishermen started to transport children to their boats first.”

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Supreme Court sides with Trump administration on contested deportation policy

The US Supreme Court sided with the Trump administration, allowing it to resume the deportation of some migrants to third countries without any notice after a lower court had temporarily blocked the practice, requiring the government to give migrants a “meaningful opportunity” to present potential risks of deportation to a third country such as South Sudan, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Vietnam instead of their homeland. The 6–3 ruling represents a short-term win during the ongoing immigration policy debate.

President Trump has been vocal about the immigration policy, stating it is the key to national security.

In the case of D.V.D. v. U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the government tried to deport some ICE detainees to countries they didn’t come from—something usually barred by federal law. Boston-based US District Judge Brian Murphy ruled the move violated a prior order he issued in April, which required that migrants be granted the opportunity to raise concerns about facing torture or death if removed to such countries, even in case their appeals had already been denied.

As reported by BBC, Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson dubbed the majority’s unsigned decision on Monday a “gross abuse.”

“Apparently, the court finds the idea that thousands will suffer violence in farflung locales more palatable than the remote possibility that a district court exceeded its remedial powers when it ordered the government to provide notice and process to which the plaintiffs are constitutionally and statutorily entitled,” Sotomayor wrote.

“That use of discretion is as incomprehensible as it is inexcusable.”

The Department of Homeland Security, however, saw the ruling as a victory, with the agency’s spokeswoman, Tricia McLaughlin, saying, “Fire up the deportation planes.”

REUTERS

Trump’s administration claims the eight migrants committed “heinous crimes” such as murder, arson, and robbery. The migrants’ lawyers, however, stated that some of them had no criminal convictions.

According to many, at the heart of this case is a conflict between safety and rights. It’s outcome may influence future immigration practices and policies.
