Mr. Rogers’ daughter, Betsy Rogers, says she can’t believe her father turned 100 years old.

Boy, 7, says he’s proud of his scar after jumping in front of vicious dog to protect his little sister

0

Having a sibling means having a friend for life. Brothers and sisters are those special individuals we can always rely on when things get hard and the first people to share our happiness with.

Bridger Walker and his four-year-old sister were at a friend’s backyard having fun when a German Shepherd tried to attack the girl. Without thinking twice, then 6-year-old Bridger jumped in front of her and acted as a shield. The girl wasn’t hurt in any way, but Bridger got severely bitten on the face. He was left with multiple scars and needed 90 stitches for the open wound to be repaired.

Source: Facebook

Today, a year and a half after the vicious attack, Bridger says he’s proud of his scar because it shows that he did what every brother needs to do and that is to protect his younger siblings. “If someone had to die, I thought it should be me,” the brave boy was reported saying at the time.

Speaking of his son’s selfless act and the scar he has on his face, Bridger’s father, Robert Walker, told People:

“My wife and I asked him, ‘Do you want it to go away?’ And he said, ‘I don’t want it to go all the way away.’

“Bridger views his scar as something to be proud of, but he also doesn’t see it as being representative of his brave act. He just perceives it as, ‘I was a brother and that’s what brothers do.’ It’s a reminder that his sister didn’t get hurt, and that she is okay.”

The story of Bridger’s bravery came to light after his aunt Nikki shared it online. “My nephew is a hero who saved his little sister from an attacking dog,” she wrote.

“He, himself, took on the attack so that the dog wouldn’t get his sister. He later said, ‘If someone was going to die, I thought it should be me.’ He got home from the hospital last night. I know it’s a long shot, but I’m reaching out to the Avengers and other heroes so that they can learn about this latest addition to their ranks.”

To her and Bridger’s surprise, Robert Downey Jr. who played Iron Man and Chris Evans who portrays the role of Captain America both responded with videos in which they praised Bridger’s act.

The boy, however, although happy with the superheroes’ videos, said what he did wasn’t heroic, he just acted the way every older brother should act during such a terrifying situation.

“It almost bothers him sometimes when he’s called a hero, because he [thinks], ‘Maybe I could have done more to shield her,’” the boy’s dad said.

“Chris Evans, his video was amazing and he sent the shield. Bridger couldn’t have been more delighted,” the dad added. “When he talked to Tom Holland, he was probably the most starstruck because that was a live call so that one certainly left an impression… His emotional recovery was really a worldwide effort and that was so special to us.”

Although Bridger’s face now looks better after all the surgeries, he needs to undergo more in the future.

“We still have a little bit more work to do on the superficial, redness part of it, but structurally everything looks so much better,” said Dr. Dhaval Bhanusali who offered to fly Bridger to his office in New York and provide treatment for free. “I always told Robert, ‘When Bridger’s in junior high or high school, I want this to be a story he tells, not a memory he has to relive every day.’ And I think we will have that situation,” the kind doctor added.

Other celebs who reached to Bridger, among the rest, are Mark Ruffalo and Anne Hathaway.

The life and death of Mob Wives star Big Ang: She left her husband amid her cancer battle

0

Angela ”Big Ang” Raiola became a huge star when she first appeared on the reality show Mob Wives which captivated the attention of a huge audience.

All of the women who were part of the show were somehow related to the families which controlled the mafia in New York City. Big Ang was the niece of the late Salvatore ”Sally Dogs” Lombardi, one of the “capos” of the notorious Genovese crime family. Besides being famous for her larger-than-life personality and brash demeanor, Big Ang was also known for her plastic surgeries and her distinctive looks; her huge boobs and lips among the rest.

In 2001, Big Ang was arrested in Brooklyn when she tried to sell drugs to undercover cops. She was 41 at the time and was actively involved in the work of the mafia. Her role was distributing drugs on ”street-level.”

As the leader who Big Ang worked for was sentenced to 13 years in prison, she was sentenced to three years’ probation in 2003.

”People ask me why I did it. I was a single mom, supporting my family, paying $3,000 in rent. I did it for the money. I wouldn’t do it again and haven’t since. I learned my lesson,” Big Ang explained back in the day.

She had a hard time spending four months in house arrest because she was a kind of person who wanted to be in the center of attention and loved partying. Because she couldn’t go out, she decided to bring the party to her and organized sleepovers and parties.

”My girlfriends and family came by every day. That also made me feel less claustrophobic. But for someone like me who needs to be where the action is and loves to go out, being confined to one place was torture,” she explained.

She even released a book in which she gave her readers tips on how to kill boredom among the rest.

Mob Wives was praised by critics and reached huge popularity. Ken Tucker, a TV critic on Entertainment Weekly, wrote: ”As someone who’s watched at least a few episodes of every version of the Real Housewives franchise and feels a bit nauseous about it, I didn’t come to Mob Wives with high hopes. But this floridly funny, vicariously vicious reality series exerts a vulgar charm.”

Big Ang stole the hearts of millions of people and was offered spin-offs during which she revealed a lot about her life.

She always spoke openly of the many plastic surgeries she had had during her life. She first went under the knife after giving birth to her first child. “After I had the baby my boobs were dead. They just were prunes down to my waist. After my first surgery, I had them redone in 1995. They took the sponges out and put in saline implants.  I had a double 36 double D when I was only 14-years-old, so I have always had a big chest,” she told Radar Online.

Big Ang was diagnosed with cancer when doctors discovered a lemon-size tumor in her throat after she complained of neck pain in 2015. She had undergone a surgery but was later diagnosed with stage four breast and lung cancer. ”First I thought I was cancer free. I was going to have a big party. Then a month later I was stage 4,” Angela explained towards the end of her life.

The last time she appeared on TV was for the reunion of Mob Wives when she spent two hours on set but was forced to drag herself there.

When it came to her private life, Big Ang was married to Neil Murphy but their relationship wasn’t a picture-perfect one. She had two daughters and six grandchildren.

Shortly before her passing, Big Ang appeared on Dr. Oz and opened up about her life. ”I felt like he never stepped up to the plate, so I was done with it,” she said of her husband. “Now, it’s too late. I would rather be by myself. I would rather be alone.”

Dr. Oz himself tried to share Big Ang’s story.

“By the time she came on the show, she really had wanted to get things off her chest, to say things she knew she needed to say before the end, because she had weeks to months, not months to years left,” he said.

”The most important emotion I heard from Big Ang outside the show was fear — she was scared. I think she knew the end was grasping at her, that she was looking over the abyss of death, a darkness down there that we all fear, and she knew that it was close.”

He claimed that what affected Big Ang’s health was her habit of smoking 40 cigarettes a day. “She started young, like so many, but like so many, by the time she realized she didn’t want to smoke anymore, it was too late to stop — at least she felt that way. And she joked on the show about how she got the diagnosis of throat cancer, and as she walked out of the hospital, she took the pack of cigarettes and tossed them in the trash. And she quit cold turkey, but it was a little late,” Dr. Oz explained.

Big Ang, who lived an opulent lifestyle, died peacefully in February 2016 surrounded by her friends and family.

Stray dog chases down car of people on vacation who give her forever home

The best things in life usually come in the most unexpected manner.

A couple from Italy, Martina Russo and Fil, were on the road and driving through Spain’s countryside when they saw a tiny dog running after their vehicle. They found it fun at first because they thought the sweet canine was playing but they soon realized that the reason behind the running was in fact a heartbreaking one.

As the dog was trying to get to the couple, they decided to pull over. They took the dog in their arms and believed it was lost, but as no one was around and there weren’t any houses nearby, they assumed it was either lost or someone abandoned it.

“We… took her to the nearest village to ask if someone had lost her, but no one had ever seen her before,” Martina wrote on Instagram. “We are in the middle of nowhere, no houses or other human life in a long range.

“On the way back we put her back where we found her, thinking she might know to walk back, but she followed us again until we got to the van.”

Martina posted photos of the dog on social media asking if someone was looking for her. A few weeks passed by and no one came forward so they decided to adopt her.

“We took her to the vet the next day, and turns out she was not chipped, not spayed, female, about one-year-old, fur very overgrown and full of gunk around the eyes,” Martina told SWNS.

They named her Moxie and gave her a loving home.

“She’s very sweet and funny, very playful, loves our cats — to be fair, she loves everything and everyone!” Martina said. “We love taking her on adventures, and she makes us laugh every day.

“Every day is a new adventure for Moxie now.”

It looks like Moxie was great at choosing which car to chase down. Is it possible that she new those people could become her owners? Well, who knows. The most important thing is that she now has a home.

Mom saves 20 kids from burning bus, then Ellen refuses to accept that she lives paycheck-to-paycheck

No matter how old your children are, you never stop worrying for their safety and well-being. This is especially true when they are still young and don’t really know how to take care of themselves.

However, there comes a time, such as when they start school, when they are left in the hands of their teachers and the bus drivers who make sure they get safely to and from school.

And if you are lucky enough, your kid’s school bus driver would be someone as courageous and as loving as this lady named Renita Smith. She loves her job and the kids so much that she refers to them as her babies. Actually there’s nothing this single mother of two wouldn’t do for her passengers’ safety, even if that means getting into a burning bus.

That day was like any other and Renita had no idea it will turn into an ordeal she will never forget. As she was dropping off the students home after classes, she suddenly noticed how the brake light on the bus came on. It did raise concern but she believed she could make it to the fourth stop before she pulled over and made a further examination. But it turned out the problem was way more serious than she assumed as they all smelled smoke.

Renita said: “By the time I picked up the mic to call transportation, my bus was on fire.”

Thanks to her quick thinking and her readiness to act in such situations, Renita managed to get the kids off the bus. Some of the neighbors who witnessed the accident helped get the children to safety. Renita, however, wanted to make sure no one was left behind and then did something truly amazing. She got back into the bus that was all in flames just to make sure no kid was still inside.

Smith says, “Then I ran back into the bus because I needed to make sure that all of my babies were accounted for.”

This lady was ready to put her life on the line as long as her babies were safe and sound. The story of her bravery spread among people from all over the country. Everyone praised Renita for her action, but the one person who was truly fascinated by this woman’s fearlessness was Ellen DeGeneres. The comedian and a host show learned how Renita didn’t have an easy life as she struggled to make ends meet so she invited her over at the show and this single mom got the surprise of her life.

Take a look at what Ellen had up her sleeve for Renita in the video below.

Please share to inspire others to show their appreciation for those who risk their lives every day to keep us safe.

Country singer Naomi Judd recovered from Hepatitis C despite doctor saying she only had years left

0

Naomi Judd, one of the best and most prominent country music singers looks as beautiful as always as the age of 76. Although she has stayed out of the spotlight in recent years, Naomi’s career influenced the world of country music a great deal and she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2021 as a member of The Judds alongside her daughter Wynonna.

Naomi gave birth to her daughter Wynonna a week before she was supposed to graduate from high school. Being a mother at 18 wasn’t easy, let alone a single mom. Her boyfriend left Naomi because he wasn’t ready to be a father so she was forced to raise her daughter all by herself. Some time after welcoming Wynonna into her life, Naomi met Michael Ciminiella whom she married in 1964. Four years after tying the knot, Naomi gave birth to her second daughter, renown actress Ashley Judd. Unfortunately, Naomi’s union with Ciminiella didn’t last long and she was once again left to take care of her children alone.

Raising two girls wasn’t easy. The family struggled to make ends meet and lived in a cottage in Kentucky where they didn’t have telephone or television. As the place often lacked electricity as well, Wynonna spent most of her time learning how to play the guitar. Over time, she became very good at it and became obsessed with music.

As life in rural Kentucky was a difficult one, Naomi and her girls moved to California where she enrolled a nursing school. She did all in her power to provide a decent life for her daughters and worked as a waitress while attending school.

“There were times when I didn’t know how we were gonna eat, or how I was even gonna pay the small rent that I paid… It still amazes me how I did it,” Naomi said of that tough period of her life.

Once she received her diploma, Naomi and her daughters found a place to stay in Nashville where she found a job as a head nurse in an ICU.

One day while on the job, Naomi met someone who helped change her life forever.

A patient at the hospital happened to be a man whose father was a record producer who arranged for Naomi and Wynonna to get to a live audition at the music label RCA in Nashville in 1983 and that was the start of something huge.

Speaking of that audition and singing in front of the producers, Wynonna revealed later on:

“It felt very much like going to the principal’s office,” Wynonna Judd recalled. “I was used to singing; I wasn’t used to being in a boardroom full of men. Joe remembers me taking my guitar out of its case just like it was a gun in a holster.

“I could sing in front of 10,000 people, as long as I had my guitar. I was like ‘Xena’ with a guitar. It was my protection, it was my weapon. It was my best friend, it was my purpose for anything and anybody.”

Naomi and Wynonna signed their first record and released their first album Wynonna & Naomi, as The Judds. The world became fascinated with the mother-daughter duo. They released number one hits and sold records for more than $20 million.

Wynonna was tough as a teenager and her relationship with her mother wasn’t always a smooth one. They weren’t great at communicating with one another through words, but music was a different thing. It helped them bond on a different level.

“It happened because of country music, because of the fans. There was never any great epiphany for us to say, ‘Okay, I get it, I understand your reality—you weren’t trying to destroy my life,’” Naomi Judd recalled in an interview with Ability Magazine. “It was just a gradual evolution, and when you share a dressing room, a stage, a hotel room, and you sleep six feet away from each other on the Silver Eagle Bus, you will either work it out, or you’ll kill each other.”

“A very interesting thing began to change when we’d be on stage. I would look out at the sea of smiling faces and sense that they were scrutinizing Wy and me, and that put us on our best behavior,” she added. “There was a real symbiotic relationship taking place at that time. Fans would come to us for advice.”

At the age of 44, Naomi was diagnosed with Hepatitis C and doctors said she had 3 years to live at most so she and Wynonna had what they believed would be their last tour together. However, Naomi became a medically documented miracle. She was cured and decided to share her incredible life story with people from all over the country by becoming a motivational speaker.

Today, she’s living a quiet life with her husband of 32 years, Larry Strickland.

Teenager marries his high-school sweetheart as he learns he has three to six months to live

Chase and Sadie’s love story is one of the most touching and most beautiful ones we’ve ever stumbled upon. Although they were still just teenagers, they loved each other unconditionally and dreamed of staying together forever.

They both believed life was ahead of them, but then, Chase learned he had cancer. Their world collapsed. Their hearts were filled with sorrow. But they decided to pray and hope for the best and use their time together as best as they could.

As his illness progressed, he proposed to Sadie and the two tied the knot during an intimate ceremony in the presence of their parents. This wonderful couple exchanged their vows at Sadie’s yard which was decorated with balloons and flowers. Because of the pandemic, they couldn’t invite many people, but Chase’s father made sure all those people who supported Chase and Sadie be there with them virtually. He shared an emotional video of the newlyweds on YouTube.

They planned the wedding in four days and everything went perfect.

Chase’s mom was over the moon that her son’s wish of marrying the woman of his dreams came true. She compared the young couple’s love story with those from Nicholas Spark’s novels or a Hallmark movie.

In an attempt to help Chase with his cancer, a GoFundMe page was started. Sadly, almost a year after the wedding, he had undergone scans which showed that the tumors spread. In April of 2021, Chase passed away.

The money raised was used for the medical and funeral expenses and the rest was donated to causes which Chase held near and dear to his heart. Rest in peace, young man, you are dearly missed.

Couple gets a huge surprise after being told their family couldn’t get any bigger because of medical reasons

Joani and Trevion Clemons, a couple from Atlanta, Georgia, made headlines after their incredible life story went viral some years ago.

These two first met and fell in love with each other when they were still just teenagers but they both knew they were meant for one another. After tying the knot, they welcomed four beautiful daughters together.

Source: YouTube

Although their family of six seemed complete, the Clemons wanted more children. However, once Joani was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, or PCOS, doctors told her she wouldn’t be able to conceive again.

Nine years after welcoming their youngest child, Joani felt a lump in her breast and visited a doctor. However, she never expected the visit to take such an unexpected turn.

“I went in because breast cancer runs in our family and I had a lump in my breast,” Joani told WSBTV. “That’s when [the doctor] told me that was a milk gland.”

The doctor who once told her she couldn’t get pregnant was the same one who gave her the happy news.

The real surprise came after Joani’s ultrasound. She wasn’t carrying one baby, but three. The pregnancy came with certain complications, but at the end everything went well and Joani gave birth to three healthy baby boys who were born three weeks prematurely. They weighted around 3 pounds each and needed to stay at the hospital for 10 long weeks before they went home.

The family of six turned into a family of nine. Devon, Bryce and Miles are now all grown up but it’s always nice to go back to their story and see how they are doing nowadays.
