Rosalynn Carter made big Melania Trump decision before her death

Rosalynn and Jimmy Carter will always be remembered as a couple who have done the most humanitarian work in their post-White House years.

The Carters had been part of the Habitat for Humanity for many years and helped renovate around 4,300 houses in 14 different countries.

Before coming to Washington in 1977, Rosalynn was seen as unassuming and quiet, but she soon turned into an eloquent speaker, campaigner and activist. She was well-known for her efforts on mental health and caregiving and women’s rights.

Rosalynn got the nickname “the Steel Magnolia” because of her influence, loyalty, and compassion. It was reported that while serving as a first lady, White House staffers sometimes sought her approval on initiatives before bringing them up to the president.

Rosalynn and Jimmy were celebrated as the oldest living presidential couple and were married for 77 years. Sadly, Rosalynn passed away on November 19, just two days after entering hospice along with her loving husband.

The two spent the last days of her life by each other’s side. Jimmy asked his bed to be placed next to hers so that they could talk to one another.

“My father told her he loved her and thanked her for all the wonderful things she had done,” the Carters’ son James E. “Chip” Carter III, who was in his parents’ bedroom with other family members said. “Then he asked us to leave so he could be alone with her.

“I’m sure he prayed,” Chip explained.

Sadly, however, by Sunday morning, Rosalynn had lost the power of speech. Later that day, her long and inspiring life came to an end.

Just how generous Rosalynn was and how big her heart was speaks one of the decisions she made before her passing. Namely, Rosalynn was insistent that fellow ex-First Lady Melania Trump should attend her funeral, despite the fact that Jimmy didn’t agree with Trump’s administration politics.

As reported by SheKnows, citing the Washington Post, “all former first ladies, including Melania Trump,” having been invited to Rosalynn’s funeral. This was confirmed by Rosalynn’s son who said his mom had been “involved in that decision” though she knew that there were “public disagreements over many issues” between her husband and Melania’s husband.

“My mother was a gracious person, and she would treat everybody with respect, including a former first lady,” Chip said.

Donald Trump confirmed that he and Melania would be attending Rosalynn’s funeral.

Rest in peace, Rosalynn.

Mary-Kate Olsen says she and her twin sister felt like ‘little monkey performers’ – they quit acting entirely

The Olsen sisters, Marry-Kate and Ashley, took Hollywood by storm during the 90’s after they shared the role of cute-beyond-words Michelle Tanner on the TV sitcom Full House.

When their mom took them to the audition, the producers had already chosen a set of twins for the role that would turn iconic, but just a glance at the cute Olsens made them change their mind and hire Marry-Kate and Ashley instead.

The girls would take turns in playing Michelle because it would have been a lot of work for a single child to be filming long hours. The show ran from 1987 until 1955, and audiences from all over the country and beyond fell for the character of Michelle so much that the girls turned acting sensation almost overnight.

Being that successful, they started their own company and became CEO’s at the age of just 6, and when they reached 10, they were on the list of youngest self-made millionaires in the history.

Sadly, the year the so much loved series Full House ended was the year when the marriage of the Olsen sisters’ parents finished. That affected the girls and they tried not to think of what was going on in the house by taking new projects and films.

In their private life, the girls were said to be very shy. At school, they were placed in separate classrooms because both their parents and teachers believed they depended a lot on one another and wanted to teach them to be able to function on their own.

Speaking of their childhood, Mary-Kate said she wouldn’t want anyone to have an upbringing like she and her sister had. ”I look at old photos of me, and I don’t feel connected to them at all … I would never wish my upbringing on anyone,” Mary-Kate explained in an interview with the magazine Marie Claire. She added how she felt the two were like ”little monkey performers” in front of the cameras.

During their long careers as actresses, the famous twins played in over 30 movies and released music albums, videos, and a series of books. The last movie that starred in together was ”New York Minute,” which didn’t go well with the critics. After that, the sisters announced they are stepping away from acting and will be pursuing careers as fashion designers.

Today, they are running two clothing brands, ”Elizabeth and James” and ”The Row,” which are known and wanted worldwide.

“If you want things to be perfect or beautiful, it’s a lot of hard work,” Mary-Kate said. “Nothing comes easy. That’s just the way we were raised; that’s what we believe is necessary to do something different.”

When it comes to their private life, there’s not much that they themselves reveal as they try to keep a low profile. Rumors are that back in 2008, when the whole world was shaken by the death of actor Heath Ledger, Marry-Kate Olsen was dating him. She never confirmed this herself.

Today, Marry-Kate was married to French banker based in the United States, Oliver Sarcozy, half brother of the ex president of France, Nicolas Sarcozy. They tied the knot in 2015, three years after they started dating.

Ashley married artist Louis Eisner after she was spotted with twice-her-age boyfriends in the past.

The twin’s younger sister, beautiful Elizabeth, is embracing acting as her future career. He sisters are very supportive and attend her film premieres. In 2011, Elizabeth had her major breakthrough in the thriller drama ”Martha Marcy May Marlene.”

”It’s always felt as though [Mary-Kate and Ashley] have been women, while I’ve been the kid. But we’re very close and I look up to them a lot. I wasn’t really affected by their fame until I went to college. People would expect me to be partying and all sorts of stuff. It was really strange,” Elizabeth told Daily Telegraph.

Although Marry-Kate and Ashley went separate ways, their bond is as strong as day one. They are extremely close and are always there for each other.

”Our bond is really beyond words. I know when she’s hurting, I know when she’s going through something,” Ashley told Times of India. “I know when she’s happy – whether I’m with her or not, I know,” she added.

20 families had previously rejected an ‘unusual’ girl before a single man adopted her

The story of this cute family of two started when little Alba, who was just 13 days old back then, was rejected by 20 adoptive families.

The decision made by all these people not to embrace the special little girl turned lucky for the 41-year-old Italian Luca Trapanese.

When he filled in the adoption papers, Luca didn’t really believe the social services would allow him to become the legal father of Alba as in the country where he is from it is not common for single, homosexual man to be granted custody.

But, as all those families didn’t want to adopt a child with Down Syndrome, and Luca was more than happy to have such child in his life, he took Alba in and became her legal daddy.

The moment he welcomed sweet Alba into his life, he became the happiest person on Earth. Speaking of his daughter and his case, he said it was very special because it “destroys stereotypes about fatherhood, religion and family.”

Luka has a heart of gold. He has been part of many social service programs throughout the years and volunteered at various organizations who help people with special needs find their place in the society. Among the rest, he was part of the foundation “A Ruota Libera” which provided assistance for children with Down Syndrome.

This was one of the reasons why Luca wanted to adopt a child with Down Syndrom despite not having a partner.

Finalizing the adoption was a difficult process as adoption agencies prefer “traditional” families over the non-conventional ones.

“For me, a disabled child is not a second choice solution, but a conscious choice with respect to my vocation and my abilities,” Luca said.

Alba is a happy child with a vibrant personality. She loves being around people and enjoys playing and dancing.

Dad catches son, 12, yelling at hardworking mom for not doing his laundry

There is nothing a parent wouldn’t do for the well-being of their children. The truth is that moms and dads out there sacrifice a lot to help guide their children into becoming respected individuals with good manners. Sadly, children don’t always appreciate these efforts.

A father took to Reddit to ask fellow redditors whether he was harsh with his son after he heard him yelling at his mother for not doing his laundry.

Namely, the boy was 12 years old and expected from his mom to do the laundry and then iron his clothes. When she didn’t manage to, he got angry and started yelling at her.

The dad explained that both he and his wife do chores around the house while both of them have full-time jobs.

The following weekend, the man’s wife went to Mexico with some of her friends and he believed staying alone with the boys was the perfect time to teach his pre-teen a lesson.

Namely, the father told his son that he would be doing his own laundry while the mom was away after teaching him how to do it. On top of it, he told him that he would be responsible for his younger brother, and that included cooking food for him. The 12-year-old was also asked to do chores around the house.

After a day, he started complaining and saying it was all too much for him. It was then when the father reminded him that his mom does that every day while working full time.

However, instead of learning how to appreciate what his mother did, he decided to call his grandma and ask her to take him in for a couple of days because his father was harsh on him and made him do things around the house. The grandma then called the boy’s father and told him that his parenting methods weren’t right and that he shouldn’t have forced the boy to do his own laundry.

The father then reminded his mother, the boy’s grandma, that she used to use even more harsh methods which involved some beating too. It was then that she apologized and promised not to get involved.

So redditors took the father’s side and said he’s methods weren’t harsh at all. Instead, learning how to do his laundry, make his room, and even cook were life lessons that the son needed to learn anyway.

Others, however, said he should have let the boy be boy and enjoy his days without being burdened with household tasks.

“I think you have a deeper issue that you need to work on with your son. I also think if your older son has been exposed to misogynistic attitudes, you should make sure your younger son doesn’t pick up on it, too. They both need to learn that women are partners, not maids, and that they need to pull their weight,” one user commented.

“I do think that you should consider approaching this in a more educational manner than a punitive one, and to treat it as a genuine and earnest learning experience for your son, rather than simply a punishment,” another suggested.

Barely walking and shaking hands: 89-year-old Sophia Loren’s rare appearance raised eyebrows among admirers

Sophia Loren is believed to be one of the most beautiful actresses who have ever graced the silver screen.

This Italian-born actress known not only for her acting and successful career but for her eternal beauty too embodied the glitz and glamour of Hollywood’s Golden Age like no other person has.

Today, the actress is 98 years of age, but despite that, it looks like she still hasn’t lost her charisma.

Recently, to the delight of her fans, she made a public appearance. This however, happened before she sustained severe injuries after falling in the bathroom of her Geneva, Switzerland, home in October of this year. Sadly, she was left with several fractures, with injuries to her hip and femur and was forced to undergo surgery but is now on her path to complete recovery.

During her public appearance which preceded her fall, Loren was accompanied by her relatives, who attended the event as guests but made sure they kept an eye on the actress at all times. She could barely walk and was greeted by fans with an astounding round of applause.

Loren was dressed in a stunning black suit and had impressive jewelry. Her fans couldn’t help but notice her well kept hair.

Some of the attendees were stunned to realize just how much their favorite actress has changed over time, but besides that, they all agreed that she still looks as beautiful as ever.

“No matter what, she will always be gorgeous!” a fan said. “She will never go out of style!” another added.

Every person wants to feel good in their own skin, and sometimes, feeling good requires certain enhancements, most times in the form of surgical procedures.

And as much as we all believe that the celebrities are the ones who go under the knife the most all for the sake of looking attractive, some of them embrace their natural beauty and opt to age gracefully.

One of them is the Eat, Pray, Love star Julia Roberts.

At the age of 56, this incredible actress doesn’t resemble the ‘Pretty Woman’ that much, but she’s definitely as enchantingly beautiful as she was at the time the movie premiered.

Recently, she was spotted taking a walk and the photos only prove that she defies age. Roberts wasn’t wearing any makeup and looked adorable.

In the past, she revealed ‘the naked truth’ in a post she shared both on Facebook and Instagram which had been deleted shortly after because of some reason.

In it, she wrote, “Perfection is a disease of a nation. We overlay our faces with tons of make-up. We get botoxs and even starve ourselves to become that perfect size. We try to fix something but you can’t fix what you can’t see. It’s the soul that needs the surgery. It’s time that we take a stand. How can you expect someone else to love you if you don’t love yourself?

“You have to be happy with yourself. It doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside, it’s what’s on the inside that counts. Today, I want to put up a makeup-free photo. I know I have wrinkles on my skin but today I want you to see beyond that. I want to embrace the real me and I want you to embrace who you are, the way you are, and love yourself just the way you are,” she added.

Every morning, little boy runs down to the sea to watch this giant animal emerge

Based on significant number of scientific research, it has been proven how animals have positive influence on young children. Growing up with cats or dogs teaches kids responsibility and kindness. These youngsters learn from very early age that sharing is caring and are a bit more happy than those who don’t own a pet.

But one boy named Joel made a very special friend: a giant manta ray.

Joel enjoys spending time with the fishermen in Valle Gran Rey. In this village in the Canary Islands there is a harbor in which the local people throw bycatch and attract many different sea creatures.

Among all those unusual creatures there is a giant manta ray that gets to greet little Joel every single day.

Luckily, someone took notice of this uncommon friendship and put it on tape.

Joel and the other boy know how to attract their friend by putting their hands in the water, offering food.

The most unusual thing is that the manta ray recognizes Joel and lets him pet it on the nose.

It appears that the giant manta ray’s all time favorite food are the shrimps Joel feeds it with. Some kind fishermen who know of this relationship make sure they leave a box full of shrimps for Joel.

Once the giant creature is full, it gets another pet on its nose and head and then slowly disappears into the deep water.

Unlike stingrays, manta’s do not have a stinger, which means that they cannot kill people and have no way of harming humans.

The video of lovely Joel and his pal was seen more than 50 million times once it was posted on YouTube. 

People were staggered by the sight and one even wrote: “My faith in humanity’s restored. These boys have good souls.”

Another commenter loved seeing how respectful Joel was with the manta ray. “This is really amazing. It’s also good to see that the boy knows to respect boundaries and doesn’t go too far (e.g. jumping in with the ray). The ray flapping back to the boy was so fantastic.”

We do see children bonding with animals all the time, but having a manta ray for a friend isn’t something we get to see every day. You really have to see it to believe it!

If you see a stuffed animal at Trader Joe’s this is what it means

Trader Joe’s is a chain of grocery stores with amazing food and drink from around the globe and around the corner, and that’s one of the reasons why these stores are people’s number one option when shopping.

Within the aisles of these stores lays a delight for those young in age and young in heart, a secret treasure hunt that brings incredible joy and makes the process of shopping a bit more exciting. Stuffed animals are hidden for those with adventurous spirit to find, and this joyous experience is a win-win scenario according to Andie Lunkenheimer, a dedicated patron. “While adults shop, kids embark on an adventure,” she says.

This low-key game of hide-and-seek with all the kids who come in is beyond adorable. Any kid who finds the stuffed animal is given a special treat, like a lollipop, as a prize.

This idea is brilliant because those who are forced to take their kids shopping know how much effort it takes to keep them calm and make them behave.

By combining the element of shopping, which is something essential, with a dose of fun and excitement for the little ones turns the routine errands into a memorable experience for the entire family.

“Now, I cannot say that there is one in every single store, but in general, stores typically have one,” said Kendra Friend-Daniel, public relations director for Trader Joe’s.

“It’s a way to engage with kids in our store. If they locate the hidden stuffed toy, they just let a Crew Member know and they’ll receive a treat. The type of stuffed toy and treat may vary store to store, but for example, in my local Trader Joe’s there’s a hidden penguin and when my daughters locate it, they receive a lollipop.”

This isn’t the first time for the shops to be doing this. This year, a video of a customer who explains everything you need to know about this game went viral, and many believed this ‘toy-hunting’ thing was just a rumor, but in fact, this practice of hiding stuffed animals around the place is present for over a decade and clearly, kids, as well as parents, can’t get enough.

“If you’ve ever been to a Trader Joe’s before, you know their employees are extremely friendly and they’ve got a lot of healthy products that you just can’t find in other stores,” TikTok user timbosliceoflife12 says in the video. “And hidden within these healthy products you may find a random stuffed animal,” he continued.

The animals vary from one location to other, from majestic eagles, gentle whales, and playful bears to charming ducks, curious turtles, and even elusive lobsters, you name it.

However, not every store participates in this game, so when you visit a Trader Joe’s store, just ask the employees if there are any hidden animals in their store.
