The love story of Hollywood heartthrob Pierce Brosnan and his wife of over two decades, Keely Smith, is yet another reminder that celebrity people do stay together and their marriages do last.
Brosnan loves reminding Keely what she means to him.
The couple say the secret to their marriage and everlasting love is that no matter how hectic his work schedule is or how much she’s busy, they always find way to spend quality one-on-one time together.
The actor has fallen for Kelly from the moment he laid eyes on her at a Mexican bar in 1992. They started dating two years later and tied the knot after seven years. He knew something was different about her. In an interview with The Independent, the former James Bond star revealed why he was drawn to Keely in the first place.
“I love her vitality, her passion. She has this strength that I wouldn’t be able to live without. When Keely looks at me, I go weak.”
On September 25, Kelly celebrated her 60th birthday and Brosnan presented her with a gift that made fans gush of his devotion to her.
“Sixty roses for my brown eyed girl on her 60th birthday,” he captioned a photo of the couple standing in front of a gorgeous bouquet of roses.
“Forever happy and blessed was I to be sitting there when you walked around the corner early one morning in Cabo San Lucas @keelyshayebrosnan,” he added.
For their 22nd wedding anniversary, Keely shared a number of images from their Irish wedding ceremony on social media.
“Happy Anniversary @piercebrosnanofficial. Thank you for always being up for this adventure called life,” she wrote.
Brosnan was first married to Australian actress Casandra Harris who tragically died of ovarian cancer back in 1991. Sadly, his daughter would lose her life due to the same illness. The Mrs. Doubtfire star had one child with her, but adopted her children from her previous marriage after the kids’ dad died. They took his surname. He has two sons with Keely, Dylan and Paris.
