If you are a parent, you probably think your kid is special and unlike anyone else’s. In fact, you KNOW your child is special. Every parent feels it.
29-year-old Chrissy Corbitt knows very well what it’s like to think her child is special. Her first two children weighed in at whopping nine and ten pounds.
There was nothing that could have prepared her for her final pregnancy.
Mother of four alreday, Chrissy thought she’d seen and done it all in pregnancy. Early on during the pregnancy, Chrissy and her doctors suspected that the baby was going to be over 9 pounds.
“The belly was getting bigger and bigger. It was like she had a huge beach ball and it was getting more and more inflated,” says the baby’s dad, Larry.
Delivered by C-section (good thing!) on May 13, 2017, Baby Carleigh weighed in at a whopping 13Ibs, 5 ounces. Wowzers! It was a shock to Chrissy and everyone in the delivery room.
“When the PEDIATRICIAN showed her to me across the curtain, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s huge’
“I heard everybody cheering in the operating room. I’ve never had that happen before,” Chrissy said.
This was only the beginning Baby Carleigh was so big that she couldn’t fit in the ordinary newborn clothes that her parents had waiting for her.
Same thing with diapers! Her parents thought they had prepared for everything, they had done this 4 times before. They were pros, or so they thought!
“All the stuff we bought leading up to her being born, we just donated to a local church,” Larry joked.
At just three-weeks-old, Carleigh was wearing baby clothes sized for a 9-month-old!
You might think she is the biggest baby on record but that isn’t the case. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, there was a baby born in 1879 weighing 22 pounds.
Chrissy says: “She’s just a happy baby, she smiles all the time. I can’t get enough of her.”
Chrissy and Larry love all their kids but they promised this one is the last!
“We’re going out with a bang.”
