Man made frantic final call to wife before tragic death after they paid $166,000 deposit on restaurant

Manon Olivon received a frantic final call from her husband François-Tanguy Olivon asking her for help and telling her “to come and get him right away.”

Sadly, she never heard of him again after that and 12 days after the call, his body was retrieved from the Adour River.

According to a local outlet, a CCTV footage showed him wearing a “completely torn” T-shirt and falling off a bridge in the town of Bayonne.

Manon and François were starting their life over, moving from France to the States where they were planning to start a restaurant at the SoHo neighborhood. The couple had sold their restaurant in France where they have been living with their children.

They paid over a $166,000 deposit and $47,500 for two months rent for January and February to Robert Moskowitz, owner of New York-based Only Properties LLC, Manon shared with The Post.

However, now that François died tragically, the plan for the business failed and Moskowitz refuses to give Manon the money back.

She sent Moskowitz a letter explaining her situation, but he remained deaf to her plea.

“Today, I am not writing to a landlord – I am writing to a man. A man who, I hope can look beyond clauses and figures and understand that sometimes, life puts us through unimaginable trials that we cannot face alone,” she wrote in the letter.

“If you cannot return the full amount, then I beg you to at least return one month’s rent. It would be an immense help to me and my children.”

His lawyers said they would hold Manon responsible for the entire 10-year lease unless she signed a ‘surrender agreement,’ which she eventually did.

She’s now doing her best to provide for her family, which she describes as close-knit.

In the meantime, she started a GoFundMe page.

“With a heavy heart, I am launching this fundraiser. The funds raised will help me: Ensure a stable future for my children after this devastating loss, cover the costs related to François-Tanguy passing, handle daily expenses as we try to rebuild our lives.”

According to experts, the landlord didn’t do anything against the law when he refused to return the money.

We are very sorry for the devastating loss of this family.
