A wealthy CEO in Mexico found a staff member skipping meals to breastfeed her baby — the shocking truth behind it shocked everyone

While the entire city slept, Jyoti, a thirty-four year old mother, kept working tirelessly. She spent every night mopping floors, carrying heavy buckets, and enduring the sharp words of her supervisors at the Herrera Shopping Center. To those who knew her, this young woman was just a janitor, but to her baby daughter, Anaya, she was the whole world.

During her breaks, Jyoti didn’t eat or rest, instead she hurried to the dim, cold basement storage room to breastfeed her baby. Among all those precious things at the shopping center, this quiet and cold place was the only space where Jyoti felt like at ease because her daughter was by her side.

Unknowingly, someone learned how Jyoti spent her short breaks from work.

Arjun Mejía, the multimillionaire CEO of the shopping center, decided to witness firsthand how his employees did at his shopping center so he disguised himself as an “internal inspector.” He did expect to see irregularities in the work of some of his employees, but he never thought he would realize the sad reality of some of them, a reality that would take him back to the old days when he was still just a child and his own mother struggled to feed him and make ends meet.

That faithful day, as he walked through the halls, he spotted Jyoti. She was exhausted and sweaty. At one moment, he heard a faint cry of a baby and decided to follow her without being spotted.

The sight of a staff member who had to breastfeed her baby on the cold floor broke his heart into a million pieces.

Unable to say anything because he felt overwhelmed, he left the place.

The next day, Mr. Vargas, who was infamous for his harshness, called Jyoti. While the poor woman trembled, he started yelling at her.

“Jyoti! How dare you bring a baby here? This is unacceptable!”

Jyoti couldn’t hide her tears. She feared she could lose her job, so she begged. “Sir… please forgive me. I have no one else. I can’t leave my daughter alone.”

Before Vargas could continue, the office door opened and Arjun entered.

“From today, no worker here will ever be threatened again,” he said.

Vargas started explaining that the woman dared to bring her baby to work, trying to justify his yelling.

Arjun looked at Joti and said, “Last night, I saw everything. Your courage. Your sacrifices. I won’t let them go unnoticed.”

He then handed her an envelope and turned to Vargas. “And you—humiliating someone fighting for her family—are fired effective immediately.”

Inside the envelope, there was a new contract. Jyoti was offered a job at the office. She was no longer the company’s janitor. Her boss even promised to help her pay for a nursery and even cover the expenses for Anaya’s school once she got older.

Arjun knew that a mother’s sacrifice is sacred, because in Jyoti, he could see his own mother, and he would never let a mother struggle.
