The woman who lost her life after an ICE officer shot her in the head at point blank range has been identified as Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother of three.

Renee’s killing, which happened during a targeted operation in Minneapolis, caused outrage in the US and beyond. She was described as an “extremely compassionate” person, a prize-winning poet and a hobby guitarist. Renee was a US citizen.

Homeland Security has claimed that Renee had tried to ram her car into a federal agent who shot her in self-defense to protect himself and other agents. However, a footage of the actual incident has since emerged showing Renee never attempted to run over the agent. On the contrary, she’s seen attempting to drive away from the officers, including the one who pointed the gun at her.

Renee had two children from her first marriage and a six-year-old with her second husband who is now an orphan following the passing of his father in 2023, Metro reported.

Donna Ganger, Renee’s mother, opened up about the killing of her daughter, saying “[Renee] was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.”

Ganger added: “She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”

According to the devastated mother, Renee was “probably terrified” in the moments leading up to her death and said it was “stupid” that her 37-year-old child was shot and killed.

President Donald Trump on the other hand sided with the agent and labeled Renee a “professional agitator” who “violently, willfully [sic], and viciously” ran over an ICE officer.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch.

“The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense.”

Jacob Frey, the mayor of Minneapolis and a former civil rights attorney, strongly refuted Trump’s claims. As per The Hill, he said: “Having seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly, that is bullsh*t.

“This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying, getting killed.”

In a press conference shortly after Renee’s death, Frey demanded that ICE ‘get the f**k out of Minneapolis’, adding: “They are not here to cause safety in this city. What they are doing is not to provide safety in America. What they are doing is causing chaos and distrust.”
