The killing of Charlie Kirk, CEO and co-founder of the conservative youth group Turning Point USA, sent shockwaves all over the country.
The 31-year-old commentator was speaking before a large crowd at Utah Valley University (UVU) on September 10 when he was shot in the neck.
Kirk was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
He left behind his wife, Erika Kirk, and their two children, daughter, 2, and their 16-month-old son.
The FBI revealed on September 11 that it had recovered the rifle tied to Kirk’s killing and shared images of the suspect. Police arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson from Utah the following day. After his arrest, Erika Kirk broke her silence and spoke about her late husband.
Erika addressed the nation in a livestream from Turning Point USA’s Phoenix studio, right next to the chair her husband had used for his podcast.
The grieving widow thanked emergency services for their quick response in trying to save her husband’s life. She also thanked the White House and Vice President JD Vance and his wife for “bringing [Charlie] home.”
Erika then expressed her gratitude to President Donald Trump, whom her husband had backed for years.

Shortly after Charlie’s passing, rumors about Erika Kirk being involved in child trafficking through a charitable project in Romania started circulating.
According to Snopes, the claim was tied to Erika Kirk’s Romanian Angels project, part of her nonprofit Everyday Heroes Like You. The program aimed to support Romanian orphans by sending letters and gifts, as well as organizing visits from U.S. military members.
“Did ya’ll know Erika Kirk is banned from Romania because her Evangelical group was accused of trafficking children out of Romanian villages? Birds of a feather I suppose,” one online post that has been viewed more than 4.6 million times read.
A Threads post claimed, “In 2011 Erika Kirk, widow of Charlie, had a “ministry” in Romania that worked with the U.S. government, until Romania told her ministry to leave. Go research why. I’ll give you a hint. Epstein and Trump. Her ministry was accused of trafficking children from the village. – don’t believe me, do your research.”
While Erika didn’t comment on the matter, Snopes claimed “There was no evidence the trafficking allegation was true.”
“Newspaper articles about child trafficking in Romania that internet users shared as alleged evidence did not contain any mention of Erika Kirk or her organization. Likewise, materials from the Romanian Angels initiative that circulated online as alleged evidence did not contain any indication that the initiative was involved in trafficking or relocating any children;” it continued.
