A group of officers were having lunch at a local diner when a young boy entered asking for help. “Can you help me with my shoes?” he asked. One of the officers smiled at him, knelt down, and tied the little boy’s shoelaces.

The restaurant was crowded, everyone minding their own business, and enjoying their lunch.

And then, at one moment, a frantic woman entered the place. “My child is missing, please help.Someone took my child.”

The officers rushed towards her.

The woman explained that she was putting her groceries in side her car while the girl stood next to her, and then, she simply vanished.

Luckily, the little boy who asked for help with his shoes turned to the officer and said, “I saw a man in a black hoodie holding a crying little girl.”

He described the girl, including her appearance and her clothes. “That’s my Lily,”the woman yelled.

The boy explained exactly what street the kidnapper went to and the officers were quick to start an extensive search, alerting their colleagues of potential kidnapping.

It didn’t take long before they spotted the man with the hoodie. He was looking over his shoulder as he was walking as fast as he could. But when he spotted the officers, he started running and went between cars, over trash cans, and into an alley.

They chased the man until he ran into a fence. “I… I wasn’t going to hurt her,” he kept saying.

He turned out to be an offender who tried kidnapping in the past.

When the officers returned to the mother and handed her her daughter, the little boy whose shoelaces the officer tied was there, waiting.

“If it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t have been able to track down the kidnapper. You are the true hero.”
