Man was shooting the ocean during a storm and caught an incredible footage of a lighting striking

Nature can be both incredible and unpredictable, and that makes her unique and beautiful.

Back in June 2015, during a severe weather in Florida, a man named Clint Blevins was trying to take a video of the ocean during the storm, but got way more than he hoped for as his video is showing an incredible and chilling phenomenon.

After the smaller strikes that hit just off the coast, a massive one followed. It hit the water in Daytona Beach and was recorded withing a few hundred feet.

According to NOAA, Ocean Today, “each spark [of the lighting] can span over five miles in length, reach temperatures hotter than the surface of the sun and contain 100 million volts of electricity.”

Lighting doesn’t strike the ocean as much as land, so that makes this video even more special. It shows just how powerful nature is. The sooner we humans understand we shouldn’t mess with it, the better.
