Trump under fire for posting fake AI video of Obama being arrested

Donald Trump received backlash after posting an AI generated video of Former President Barack Obama being arrested by FBI agents inside the Oval Office.

The controversial clip that he shared on Truth Social showing Obama in handcuffs didn’t come with any disclaimer that it’s artificial or fictional. It was captioned “No one is above the law,” with The Village People’s Y.M.C.A. — which Trump often uses during his rallies —playing in the background.

Before the arrest happens, Obama is seen sitting opposite Trump in the Oval Office — a footage from November 2016 when the Trump was president-elect and Obama about to leave office.

The clip then shows Obama in a federal prison.

Trump’s move came shortly after Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence, claimed Obama officials “manufactured intelligence” that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election. She announced she would be turning over evidence to the Justice Department for possible criminal referrals.

“Their goal was to subvert the will of the American people and enact what was essentially a years-long coup with the objective of trying to usurp the President from fulfilling the mandate bestowed upon him by the American people,” Gabbard said.

“Their egregious abuse of power and blatant rejection of our Constitution threatens the very foundation and integrity of our democratic republic,” Gabbard said in a statement accompanying the document release.

“No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, to ensure nothing like this ever happens again.”

Mark Warner, Senator of Virginia and a ranking member on the Senate Intelligence Committee, dubbed Gabbard’s accusations “one more example of the director of national intelligence trying to cook the books.”

This isn’t the first time the president has shared videos made using artificial intelligence. Many are convinced this last one involving Obama is just an attempt to shift the focus away from his past relationship with Epstein, the disgraced billionaire who killed himself while awaiting trial in federal prison.
