AN Apple fan has outsmarted the tech gurus at the Genius Bar and discovered a trick that speeds up any iPhone without a time wasting reset.
iPhone enthusiast Marc Forrest stumbled across the short cut and posted it to Twitter.
“Awesome #iOSTip to clear RAM memory,” he tweeted
“Hold down power button till slide to power comes up then hold in home button till app screen appears.”
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it.
1. Unlock your device so you can see the home screen.
2. Hold down power until ‘Slide to Power Off’ appears.
3. Release it and hold down the Home button for five seconds so it returns to the app screen.
4. Now your iPhone memory should be refreshed.

“A few people have asked about the benefit, and from my understanding it clears the unused RAM on the phone,” Forrest wrote.
“I have done a number of tests to see if it works and I can promise it helps speed the phone up, a LOT!”
Time Magazine reports there are some telltale signs on the menu bar and in apps that confirm the iPhone has indeed improved.
