Susan Lucci, best known for her role of Erica Kane in the ABC daytime drama All My Children, was contacted by the Golden Bachelorette to be their next leading lady, but claimed “it wasn’t for her,” according to the actress herself.
Speaking to People, Lucci, said, “I believe that they contacted my publicist and it wasn’t for me. I watched The Golden Bachelor. I really enjoyed watching The Golden Bachelor. This is a new addiction for me.”

In fact, she had never been a fan of the show until recently, when she got hooked and started watching it.
“My assistant told me she was going home to watch The Bachelor with her daughters,” she recalled. “She said, ‘Well, it’s really good.’ I watched it. The first time I watched it was that night a couple seasons ago. I was immediately engaged, I cared. I wanted to know more about these people.”
While the show turned into her “new guilty pleasure,” Lucci said she “didn’t pursue [it] when they called my publicist to see if I would be interested.”
“It wasn’t for me, but I do love watching,” she added. “I’m a fan. I love watching.”
ABC announced that Joan Vassos, a former Golden Bachelor contestant, will star as the Golden Bachelorette.

When it comes to Susan Lucci, her career has been a rich one.
In 1996, TV Guide ranked her number 37 on its 50 Greatest TV Stars of All Time list.
