The 60-year-old woman had been trying to have a baby for the past 20 years

Many people dream of becoming parents one day. Sadly, not everyone succeeds in becoming one because of one reason or another. Sometimes, they simply don’t get lucky enough to find the person they would want to share that special role with. Other times, no matter how hard they try, couples fail at getting pregnant.

A woman from Serbia named Atifa, spent most of her life trying to conceive. Believe it or not, she never stopped dreaming, and finally, her wish came true when she reached 60 years old.

All those fertilization treatments and the physical and emotional pain she was forced to go through finally paid off.

Baby Alina was born healthy, despite her mother’s age.

When the little one was welcomed into the world, everything fell into place. Or at least that’s what Atifa thought.

Unfortunately, the very moment this woman’s husband heard the baby cry, he told her that he was way too old to be taking care of a child. He couldn’t imagine spending his days next to a crying baby so he left the home.

When asked why he made such a heartbreaking decision, he said, “She got what she wanted, now she is happy,” referring to his wife of many years.

The father also claimed that he wasn’t in good health in order to be able to raise a child. Atifa also suffers from different medical conditions such as high blood pressure, but she would never abandon her child.

What is most, the father, Sherif, won’t even give his daughter his last name and doesn’t want to recognize her as his own, which is truly heartbreaking having in mind the number of years they waited to have a child.

“Whatever happens, whether Serif stays or leaves, I will raise Alina as best I can. I will live only for her. I know it won’t be easy, but I think there are a lot of people who will want to help me,” Atifa says.

We hope these mother and daughter would have the life they deserve.
