Strategist dubs Trump’s move one of the most ‘ignorant’ in history

Strategist who predicted Trump’s downfall calls his move one of the most ‘ignorant’ in U.S. history

Donald Trump’s return to office for the second time sparked a term that’s been full of nonstop twists and turns. From signing a bunch of executive orders, many of which challenged in court, to sparking major controversies, he’s become a figure you either love or hate. With Trump, there’s no in between, it seems.

Among those who have criticized the work of Trump’s administration is Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville.

Carville stated on several occasions that the current administration “will collapse,” adding later that it has already started happening.

He addressed the rating that he stated showed Trump’s support going from low 50s to upper 30s.

At the time, he stated that this had to do with Trump’s executive orders, as well as the work of the Department of Government Efficiency led by tech-billionaire Elon Musk, most precisely, his recent cost-cutting moves.

During an appearance on The Dan Abrams Show, the strategist said, “It’s collapsing right now. We’re in the midst of a collapse.

“What I have said very publicly is that Democrats need to play possum. This whole thing is collapsing,” he added.

Most recently, Carville “accused” Trump of one of the most ‘ignorant’ acts in US history. He referred to his administration’s decision to impose tariffs on nearly every country in the world.

Trump announced the new round of tariffs, including 125% rate on goods imported from China, dubbing the decision a “Liberation Day.”

Introducing these significant changes to US trade policy, he described his move as a “declaration of economic independence.”

Speaking of the tariffs, Carville wrote in a piece for The New York Times, “In what will certainly be recorded as one of the most ignorant acts of political leadership in American history, the president of the United States has now wilfully damaged the global economy with his tariff chaos.”

“Not only was this an act of economic warfare, it has broken the cardinal rule in American politics: Never destabilize the economy.

“With it, the Trump administration is causing enormous damage to itself – and there can be no more distraction from this naked truth.”

Previously, Trump took to Truth Social to address Carville’s accusations, calling him a “loser” who can’t wrap his head around the president’s supposed “best polling numbers.”
