Prince Harry took an eight-day trip without Meghan Markle – This is the reason

Prince Harry’s recent solo appearances have sparked speculations about what future might hold for him now that he turned 40.

In the past, Harry was mainly seen attending events together with his wife Meghan Markle, but recently, he took an eight-day trip without her by his side.

Among the rest, Harry attended a charity benefit in California hosted by actor Kevin Costner and a dinner hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO), where he met with eminent figures such as Queen Mathilde of Belgium and actor Forest Whitaker.

Further, he made a stop at New York where he showed his support for some of the causes that he holds close to his heart; African Parks, The HALO Trust, and The Diana Award.

The Duke then visited his homeland and attended the WellChild’s annual awards ceremony in London.

The fact that he appeared alone at these meaningful events has been seen as a sign that he’s trying to find a meaning in his life and “assert himself” independently, biographer Phil Dampier, author of Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan In Their Own Words, suggested.

“Harry sometimes feels like a spare part, and he often looks unhappy when he’s out with Markle at events in California. I think he has reached a point where he wants more for himself. He’s turned 40 and must be asking himself what the future holds,” Dampier told Daily Mail.

It has been highly debated withing the royal experts’ circle that the Duke misses his old life. He misses his family, his friends, and everything Britain represented for him. Some even claimed that he’s been looking for a home back home in order to have his own place whenever he visits his homeland.

“I’m sure he’s lacking some mates he can go out with for a beer and truly relax,” Dampier said as the media reported Harry met with some of his old friends for a lads-only weekend getaway for his 40th birthday.

“The more he does things on his own and carves out some new projects, the more likely it is he can heal himself and eventually some of the divisions with his family, but it’s going to be a long road,” the royal expert continued.

Other prominent royal experts, such as Tom Bower, has seen Harry’s solo trip as a significant shift in his lifestyle and strategy.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams added: “These are undoubtedly exaggerated, but they highlight his increasingly awkward situation. He has a deep rift with his family. His New York appearances may give him a brief boost.”

The public also had their say on the matter, with many commenting that solo trips and events of this kind are exactly what Harry needs in order to boost his self-confidence and find his true self.

“The first real sign that his marriage is coming apart as she would never have missed the opportunity to party with Costner, etc. She would have crawled there, but used it as a power battle and lost,” someone wrote. “He does alright when he’s by himself. He certainly looks much happier. There’s really no reason for Meghan to tag along to every event. They should keep their projects separate in the future,” another added.

“I think it’s best Harry does these events by himself. He appears to be much happier and relaxed when Meghan is not there, and people genuinely seem happy to see the old Harry,” a third commented.

Do these events that Harry attended all by himself represent the start of a new chapter in his life? We’ll have to wait and see.
