Following Trump’s accusations of Obama trying to rig the 2016 and 2020 elections, the former president finally broke his silence, denouncing Trump’s claims as “a weak attempt at distraction.”
“Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response,” Obama spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush said. “But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one.”
Also, the statement rejected the contents of an 11-page report by Tulsi Gabbard, who accused Obama administration officials of engaging in a ‘treasonous conspiracy’ and called for their prosecution.

“Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes,” Rodenbush said.
“These findings were affirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, led by then-Chairman Marco Rubio.”
Trump delivered the claims from the Oval Office during a July 22 meeting with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., while addressing reporters and facing questions about disgraced sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide while awaiting trial in federal custody.

The president dodged the questions and shifted the conversation to Obama.
“The witch hunt that you should be talking about is they caught President Obama absolutely cold,” Trump told reporters.
“It’s time to go after people, Obama’s been caught directly,” he added.
“It’s there, he’s guilty. This was treason,” Trump claimed of Obama. “They tried to steal the election, they tried to obfuscate the election. They did things that nobody’s ever imagined, even in other countries.”

Not only Barack Obama, but also Trump supporters believe the president is redirecting attention away from himself after US Attorney General Pam Bondi shut down the release of more Epstein files and denied the existence of a client list. The decision prompted concern among MAGA supporters, with the Epstein files becoming a key topic at Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit.
