Three-year-old Maine boy was found dead by his father near the family’s home shortly after he was reported missing on January 12, 2025.
State officials stated the little one was discovered in the snow, and believe the exposure to the harsh weather conditions led to his tragic passing.
However, the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office is yet to determine the exact cause of death.
As per the authorities, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 8:30 a.m. by a concerned woman. She reported that her three-year-old nephew had gone missing from a home on Exeter Road.
Sadly, no longer after, the boy’s father found him in the snow, unresponsive.
“Regretfully, the male child succumbed to injuries which appear to be consistent with exposure to the elements,” a statement by the state officials read.
Further, they said there is no public safety concern and that this was an isolated incident.
“The loss of a child is devastating and tragic. Our condolences are with the family and those impacted,” a spokesperson with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services said.
In response, the child’s aunt, Desiree Ambrose, launched a GoFundMe to help the grieving family with the funeral expenses.
“The sudden and unexpected loss of this 3 year old boy has left his mom, dad and 2 siblings completely heart broken [sic],” Ambrose wrote.
“He was such a strong loving caring funny happy little boy.”
Furthermore, everyone who knew him loved him unconditionally.
Among the comments, there is a heartfelt one from the boy’s mom, Jada Haddad.
She expressed her grief and sorrow over the loss of her boy whose dad found dead in the worst way imaginable.
“Thank you for doing this for joesiah Desiree Ambrose [sic],” Haddad wrote. “i cant wait until my baby boy is home and at rest. Home does not feel like home anymore…i feel so empty [sic]…”
