Just a month before giving up his royal titles, Prince Andrew and Prince William got into a heated argument as William has reportedly been “at pains to distance himself” from his uncle who has been considered a “disgrace” by the public due to his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein.
Prince Andrew became a hot topic amid renewed scrutiny over allegations tied to his friend Epstein and the late Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s most vocal accusers.
Giuffre, who died by suicide in April 2025 at the age of 41, had long accused Prince Andrew of sexually abusing her when she was 17—claims he has repeatedly and forcefully denied.
In her posthumous memoir, “Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice,” Giuffre recounts her alleged 2001 encounter with King Charles’ younger brother, who she says had “long been known as the playboy of the royal family,” according to The Guardian.
“He was friendly enough, but still entitled – as if he believed having sex with me was his birthright,” she penned, claiming that Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate, pressured her into “servicing the man the tabloids called ‘Randy Andy.”
‘The sustained brutal, degrading – and wholly unnecessary – conditions of my sister’s solitary imprisonment are a disgrace to any civilised democracy.’-Ian Maxwell. Sir, your sister is an uncivilised disgrace unless you think it’s ok to traffic minors. https://t.co/7wl6mPrZVI

Despite Prince Andrew’s constant denial of his involvement with Epstein and Maxwell, Giuffre’s memoir, released Oct. 21, 2025, sparked renewed public anger.
According to the BBC, following a discussion with King Charles, Andrew made a decision to give up royal titles, including Duke of York.
“In discussion with the King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family,” Andrew wrote in an official royal statement. “I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first…
“With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me.”
The statement concluded: “As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
I posted this picture yesterday and have been haunted by it since. Princess Catherine twisting her head all the way around, Prince William looking on intently.

That the royals are angry because of the accusations against Prince Andrew is very much obvious. A months ago, at the funeral of the Duchess of Kent, a footage of Andrew and prince William, in which Andrew tried to engage in a conversation with his nephew, confirmed their rocky relationship.
Namely, according to The Mirror, professional lip reader Jeremy Freeman analyzed the footage revealing that Andrew told his nephew, “… we had a lovely time in those days, didn’t we…I remember those days.”
William, however, glanced at his smiling uncle and refused to respond.

According to royal biographer Andrew Lownie, William was obviously “furious” with Andrew, which could be seen from his cold reaction.
“He has been at pains to distance himself from his uncle and not be photographed with him,” Lownie said.
“He believes his father has not dealt with him with sufficient firmness and that Andrew – and Sarah Ferguson – have done much to undermine the good work of other members of the Royal Family.”
Andrew’s ex wife, Sarah Ferguson, will also relinquish her Duchess of York title which she was granted alongside Prince Andrew when they married in 1986.
