Kate Middleton ‘careful’ about public return amid cancer

When Kate Middleton disclosed her cancer diagnosis to the public in March of last year, it sent shockwaves through the nation — All eyes were on her, with people praying for her full recovery and eagerly awaiting her return to public life.

However, even a year and a half later, Kate, who announced in September of last year that she’s cancer-free, hasn’t fully resumed her royal duties.

Back in September, the Princess of Wales shared in a video: “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.”

She added that it had been an “incredibly tough” year and that “life as we know it can change in an instant.” Further, she described the “stormy waters” of cancer as something “complex, scary, and unpredictable.”

“With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything,” Kate added.

Since then, the beloved princess has made several public appearances, including at last year’s and this year’s Trooping the Colour.

Now, a source claims that Kate Middleton would take a different approach to her return to public duties.

“Cancer impacts on your perspective, and what you have seen in the decisions they have made over the last year is that family and their children continue to be at the center of their universe,” a source told royal correspondent Rebbeca English.

“Both Their Royal Highnesses have a strong commitment to duty, service, and using their platform for good. But what they are working on is ways they can balance themselves as parents with being the Prince and Princess of Wales.”

Another source added: “Everyone is adjusting the dial.”

A close friend of the princess concluded: “As Catherine herself said, she’s looking forward to the future with hope and a new appreciation of life. She has also had little choice but to take a step back and focus on herself, which inevitably has led her to reassess where their priorities lie.”

While Kate accompanied her family at Trooping the Colour, she didn’t attend the Royal Ascot. According to the Daily Mail, it was like that because the princess is “quite strict” about choosing her public outings.

No matter how much she loves dedicating herself to her royal duties, she’s trying to find the right balance in her life.

“She’s quite strict now at working out what she needs to be at and what she doesn’t. And people forget that even if they aren’t seeing her in public, she is very hands-on behind the scenes with the team in the office. She has her own projects to pursue, such as her early years initiative. That’s a lifelong commitment for HRH,” a source told Daily Mail.
