Jennifer Aniston has always been candid about her fertility battle, and this time, the Friends star revealed why she never adopted a child.
Recently, she appeared on the new episode of the Armchair Expert podcast where she spoke of her unsuccessful journey of becoming a mother. While saying she’s “peaceful” with not being a mom, she did admit that “there’s a point where it’s like out of my control.”
“There’s literally nothing I can do about it,” she added.
“When people say, ‘But you can adopt,’ I don’t want to adopt,” Aniston continued. “I want my own DNA in a little person. That’s the only way, selfish or not, whatever that is, I’ve wanted it.
“It just wasn’t in the plan, whatever the plan was… it’s very emotional, especially in the moment when [doctors] say ‘that’s it,’ because there is a weird moment when that happens.”

In the past, she commented on the public’s comments about her not being a mom, believing it was a conscious decision she had made for the sake of her career.
“That’s not anybody’s business. But there comes a point when you can’t not hear it – the narrative about how I won’t have a baby, won’t have a family, because I’m selfish, a workaholic,” the multiple award-winning actor told Harper’s Bazaar. “It does affect me – I’m just a human being. We’re all human beings. That’s why I thought, ‘What the hell?’”
Later, she opened up about her IVF treatments, sharing that she did try to have a child and it wasn’t just a one-time try but a long journey.
“They didn’t know my story, or what I’d been going through over the past 20 years to try to pursue a family, because I don’t go out there and tell them my medical woes,” the The Morning Show star shared. “I knew a lot of women at the time who were trying to have kids, who were dealing with IVF. So, it did feel like it was not only for myself, but for any women who were struggling with the same issue.”

Anniston was married to actor Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 and Justin Theroux from 2015 to 2017. According to The New York Post, she’s currently dating hypnotist Jim Curtis.
