Hilaria Baldwin makes the big announcement everyone has been waiting for but people have a lot to say about the name

Alec Baldwin and wife Hilaria welcomed baby number seven on September 22, and the proud mom was quick to share the news with her followers.

“She’s here! We are so excited to introduce you to our tiny dream come true,” Hilaria wrote and shared a video which shows the baby’s siblings meeting her for the first time ever.

Along with the happy news, Hilaria also shared the baby’s name, and it caused controversy.

Why, you may ask. Well, Hilaria has been under scrutiny recently as a video of her showed her dropping her Spanish accent. Allegedly, she wasn’t sincere when representing herself as a Spaniard. She claimed she was born and raised in Mallorka, Spain, and only moved to the States at the age of 19 to attend university, which might not be entirely true as people claim she attended school with them in the US way before she reached that age.

“You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin’s commitment to her decade-long grift where she impersonates a Spanish person,” tweeted user @lenirbriscoe, before sharing clips of Hilaria speaking of married life with a marked Spanish accent and apparently forgetting, on a cooking show, the English word for cucumber.

“This woman grew up in Massachusetts,” the user added.

Having said this, people got mad when they learned the youngest Baldwin was given a Spanish name, Ilaria Catalina Irena Baldwin, just like those of her siblings.

“Her blatant trying to be Spanish is really quite irritating, why is it okay? Why does she keep trying? Have they really let it go to their heads that much,” someone wrote. The name Ilaria is actually Italian for “Hilary” and means cheerful.

During her pregnancy, Hilaria shared plenty of photos and updates with her social media followers.

Speaking what it feels like to be a mom of seven, Hilaria shared, “When people ask or comment, we often go to silly and very self-deprecating jokes on my part. I love to laugh at myself—so it’s all good…keeps me sane.”

She then added, “All jokes aside, however, I am grateful for this experience. I know too well the joys and the losses, the beauty and the heartache, that motherhood brings. I have learned to respect and embrace the wonderful, the hard, the uncomfortable, the magical, and the unknown of this incredible process I am so blessed to experience again and again.”

Alec responded with a comment, “You are a very special person and my hope is that your children are as special as you.”

Congratulations on your bundle of joy.
