Everyone agrees the same thing after Lady Gaga’s Oscars performance without makeup

Among the must-see moments from this year’s Oscars, which had the Hollywood royalty gathered at the Dolby Theatre, is the Everything Everywhere All at Once film which triumphed with major sweep.

There were plenty of other winners too, but it’s safe to say that it was Lady Gaga who stole the show.

She left fans guessing whether or not she would attend the big night, originally confirming she wouldn’t be able to perform her Best Original Song nominee, Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, due to conflicting schedule filming for The Joker sequel. However, seeing her walking the red carpet brought plenty of smiles and delight at her fans.

Lady Gaga wore a Versace gown and a full face of Haus Labs, her beauty brand. Yet it was the Born This Way singer’s outfit change that prompted many watching from the comfort of their homes to take real notice.

Moments before singing Hold My Hand, Gaga delivered an emotional speech, saying: “It’s deeply personal for me. I think that we all need each other. We need a lot of love to walk through this life. We all need a hero sometimes — there’s heroes all around us in unassuming places. But you might find that you could be your own hero, even if you feel broken inside.”

This time, she was completely makeup free and wore just ripped black jeans and a gray t-shirt. At one moment, the camera pushed in very close on her face, maybe too close, but that was likely a part of her wish that her performance be raw.

“She was really appropriate about the fact that this is a meaningful song to her and she wanted to really strip it down and do it not as an ‘Oscar performance,’ but as her,” showrunner Glenn Weiss explained. “And that’s exactly what we tried to capture.”

Reacting to Lady Gaga’s performance, a fan commented, “Performance of the night. She started low then picked it up to the original production style. Took us home with the belt! One thing you can never take away from Gaga? is her MUSICAL DISCIPLINE. The woman will hide for 40 days and 40 nights and master any instrument.”

Another fan wrote, “Wonderful, in addition to singing extremely well, she cosplayed Ellie, from The Last of Us.” A third added, “You are just beautiful when you are natural.”

Others wrote, “Brilliant. Loved it stripped back amazing voice xx”, and “OMG I got chills as soon as the song started.”

You can watch her performance in the video below. Stunning, to say the least.
